  1. I only just read the PM asking me if I have the old patched EXE I made, I don't but I think it would have been an old version anyway. I slightly modified digip's version to stop it making the taskbar invisible and set the window to 1024x768 rather than the size of the entire screen. I haven't figured out how to make the window resizeable or moveable yet though and I'm going to bed now.

  2. I don't know what you would be expecting if you met Moonlit and Dids, they are just normal blokes like everyone else on here.

Because those are the people I talk to most often of the people who said they were going, and therefore I am more interested in meeting them in real life. By your logic it seems like there would be no point in a meetup at all because just meeting some random people on the street would be equivalent.

  3. I do actually have a ticket and my plane lands at 11:35:

The thing is I'm a bit disappointed at how few people are apparently coming, especially since a large part of going was because I wanted to meet Moonlit and Dids, neither of whom are now coming so I'm not sure about coming now, and my flight is (mostly) refundable. I'm undecided as whether it's worth the cost for only a 4 person meet up.

  4. After watching some British propaganda, commonly known as BBC news, I think he deserves it.

Punishment should be proportional to harm done, which it rarely is in cases like this. Also BBC news is remarkably unbiased compared to the news in a lot of other countries (just look at the absurdity of US news, which is basically just another form of entertainment TV rather than informational).

  5. I don't know if this has come up before or not, but recently I was randomly browsing the wiki and could not help but notice the blatant link farming happening on many of the less used pages.

Do people already know about this? Is this a recurring problem? Something should probably be done about it.

That's because Famicoman was responsible for holding back the hordes of spammers in the past, but stopped doing it some months ago.

  6. He should be allowed to stay in the UK as the crime was commited from the UK and he is a UK Citezen. He never damaged anything, so i dont think he should get 60 years. They are only going to allow it so they can keep their "special bond" with the US. If he is extrodited to the US, they will say he is a terrorist and sling him in Guantanamo Bay.

Sadly due to our pathetic government we allow our own citizens to be extradited to the US without even a prima facie case (i.e. the US doesn't have to show any evidence at all to extradite) even though the same is not true the other way. Countries like France and Germany don't even allow their own citizens to be extradited under any circumstances, never mind without evidence.

  7. As for the netstat command on windows you can always use it then let it give a log in a text file then you copy the ip address and go to this one site that changes IP to host name

That won't work properly on shared hosting as I've said, because you can have hundreds of sites sharing the same IP with the Host header telling the server one the user wants, but that won't be displayed by netstat.

  8. ok there is a cmd for your terminal on windows called netstat... when you type it it will give you a list of online activities i beleive netstat -o is the one you are looking for.. then it will give you some info.. then in task manager go to processes and make sure you can see PID it will tell you which program is using wich port.. dunno thought that that might have helped

That won't work because that will only give you the IP/hostname of the server and not the actual website URL. Any websites on shared servers using name-based virtual hosts wouldn't show up properly. Also it's quite slow which would impede its use even if that weren't a problem. Sparda's answer is probably the most robust and secure. The only other way I would think about doing it is with a browser plugin or extension, but this is more easy to circumvent because you can just use another browser or even just disable the extension.

  9. I love film noir and I loved Max Payne, and I'd love to see a revival of the film noir genre, but I'm fairly certain this will suck. It's directed by John Moore who made the remakes of The Omen and The Flight of the Phoenix, both of which were much worse than the originals, and Behind Enemy Lines which was slightly better but still not even close to good. Hitman was shit too, and if you like it you have a terrible taste in films.

Edit: What people (especially Hollywood) needs to realise is what makes a good game is not that same as what makes a good movie. That said I think there is a good movie in Max Payne, but we will never see it because it would need a good screenwriter and a good director. Looking at the imdb credits of the writer Beau Thorne he has never written anything before, Max Payne is his only credit.

  10. when I say drugs in reference to this post I am talking about the kind you would be an idiot to use (pot, crack, tobacco). They do nothing but destroy your body, I am no health nut, but I would like to be able to breath when I'm 50 and enjoy my retirement. Not die from cancer, or have my lungs rot out, or spend time in prision.

Sure you could smoke pot, never get caught, and live a fruitful life, but why risk it? I like being able to swim and run without being out of breath, and without being watched by armed guards.

And doing things like getting high on OTC drugs like cough/cold syrup is just as dump, overdose on that and you can risk seriously screwing up your vision for the rest of your life. I think I'll pass.

This is a ridiculous argument, trying to lump "drugs" together makes no sense. To start cannabis has been shown in a number of studies to in fact prevent lung cancer for reasons not yet understood. Taking too much DXM can harm you (especially if it's in a syrup which also has an extra analgesic in it) but it can easily be extracted so you you know exactly how much you're taking. And you could say the same about non-recreational drugs, take too much paracetamol (either all at once or taking small amounts chronically) and you will destroy your liver. It doesn't mean you should never take paracetamol, it just means you have to be careful about how much you take or over how long a period you take it.

  11. http://forums.bowsite.com/TF/bgforums/thre...61&forum=18

Personally, this seems just wrong. But then again I'm a bit of a hypocrite because I wouldn't have a problem with hunting (not that I've done it) deer, birds or rabbits for example.

    meh, yourselves?

I don't really like recreational hunting in general, but there seems to me to be something especially distasteful about hunting K-selected animals like primates. I mean with wild rabbits they produce large numbers of offspring and over 90% of them die before reaching a year in age anyway but a baboon spends a lot of energy rearing its young and has a natural life of 30 years so it seems quite different to kill one of those. I have a similar problem with hunting bears because they are not prey animals to anything other than humans so are not well adapted to survive hunting such as by producing large numbers of young which mature quickly like a lot of prey animals do.

  12. Personally, I have never agreed with homosexuality.

By that do you mean you just have a personal distaste for the idea or that you don't think it should be legal? You have the right to believe whatever you want, but I don't think you have the right to dictate what other people can do between themselves.

I certainly don't beleive they should be able to adopt children as there are plenty of people who physically are unable to conceive naturally or can't afford IVF treatment.

I don't really know what you mean here, it's not like there is a surplus of people wanting to adopt and a shortage of children which are being given to gays over straight couples (if anything it's the opposite, a lot of agencies won't accept gay couples), there are always children that need a home.

I have 3 children too and don't particularly want them to see two grown men kissing in public as they are only learning the natural way the human species behave.

What do you mean? People and countless animals display homosexual behaviour, it is natural. It's been documented so many times in the animal kingdom it's not really worth mentioning a specific case, a cursory search with a search engine will provide masses of evidence.

  13. I even put JOKE and you can't detect it is a joke. I even edited the JOKE in there after I made the thread just in case some real smart people didn't see it was joke.

Once again fuck off Shaun and get a clue. I mean come on Shaun you cannot be this smart!

Well, I don't know if you noticed but in my first reply to this thread I also put the word "JOKE" (and some other stuff) using the exact same font size and colour as in your post. That wasn't a coincidence, I didn't just happen to pick same font size and colour as you. However, putting "JOKE" on the end of something doesn't make it a joke, just as prepending a racist statement with "I'm no racist, but..." doesn't make a statement non-racist (since that phrase is invariably followed by a string of ill thought-out bigoted opinion).

  14. The reason there is no aboriginal australian prime ministers is because most are always smashed drinking turps or sniffing petrol.

Hmmm. I've come to the conclusion that all Australians are racist.

In fact, all people who generalise are idiots.

  15. I'm not scared to joke, I probably joke more than most people about "sensitive" topics (even people who complain about "political correctness gone mad" seem to get annoyed when I joke about paedophilia, which makes me think they don't actually care about freedom of speech, they just want to call people niggers). However, I joke in a way that is obviously absurd, though a lot of people have no sense of irony and assume I'm being serious anyway. BUT what you said wasn't at all funny and so it seems implausible that it was a joke. "i'd hate if a aboriginal got in here" certainly wasn't said in an ironic sense.

  16. I would hate it if someone got in who did no represent me. Having not had the opportunity to choose between an Aboriginal Australian and an Australian who is no Aboriginal for local, state or federal elections i have not needed to make this decision yet.

So any comment made now(or months ago) would be a little premature.

You assume (or did a few months ago, I don't know if your position has changed) that someone who is a different ethnicity to you would not represent your interests. That's making assumptions based on race. There's a word for that, what is it again?

Just a quick note. Logging IRC is something that I do not do personally nor do I agree with it.

Is that because when you say something racist it makes it easier for someone to bring up in the future?
