In this case it's an ex-boyfriend of 5 years who is very wealthy / notoriously a bit crazy. She saw his vehicle in her driveway a few nights back - and the subsequent days he was checking in at the same locations she was visiting, more than would be coincidental. Places the guy never goes.
It's unlikely still - but was just wondering if I could help her check for an active scanner that is transmitting signal. What would the best cell data detection tool / process be?

I'm interested in creating a TSCM device (tactical surveillance counter measure) and am wondering what you all think the most effective / affordable approach might be?
A friend of mine believes her car is bugged - I started to look up options and they are all around $225. I want to help her scan her car by building my own relatively quickly.. and be able to check further vehicles.
Any thoughts?

I'm not sure what caused the failure and if I could tell you more I would.
Some additional details.. I know I was running PineAP + tcpdump and bridged ethernet to my mac. I was using a powered USB hub to power the nano since my macbook doesn't have two native ports next to each other. Worked great for hours and then randomly the AP disappeared, eth2 disappeared, and I was unable to get the device to work after that.
Looking forward to continued usage and development of the nano. I'm sure this was just a fluke / early development issue. The product was working VERY well until the hiccup.

No LED, not showing up in any combination of tests described above. =/

So I was just using my nano (have put a lot of use on it in last 48 hours) .. then randomly it quit working. I had it in the case so I couldn't check the lights.. but after pulling it out and etc. no matter how I try to power it I can't get it to turn on. I had PineAP running and was doing a tcpdump when it crashed.I've tried the USB cable provided on multiple computers - also tried the pineapple juice battery which worked on day 1 and is fully charged + on.. and it's not turning the device on either.Any thoughts? Can you help?

I have a USB hub strapped to my pineapple case right now - wonder if there are any clever ways to integrate a hub clip of some sort into your design. I suppose I could just use 3m adhesive + velcro and attach it to the front of the pineapple...
Are you considering making an enclosure for on the go usage?

Why does only one side have the "holder" for the antenna jack?
Also since it gets pretty hot it might be neat to see a "ominous" case design with a fan
Also wall mount with some sort of small fan could be neat if done right

8.8.8.8 is google DNS servers - He's just suggesting you ping that since it's always up (testing if you have live connection)
You probably do not have your iptables configured correctly from the new ethernet device into the bridge. Try using wp6.sh to re-configure your setup and make sure you choose the correct interfaces. If you need to see your interfaces type ifconfig

HackRF is a good suggestion and something I was considering. Just was wondering if there is something cheaper that only scans cellular instead of all the bands.
Already suggested the dealership / chain of custody route which she's going to start with today.
