  1. Hello fellow hake forum fans, I recently set up a xenserver on an intel nuc, and have a few VMs up and runnning. Right now all 4 VMS show up on the network using the same ethernet NIC and have different ip addresses, which is great and my home hack lab is almost complete. YAY! except my dreams have been a little crushed. I wanted to use this little portable hack lab in a demo at work on exploiting various windows machines on a network with metasploit thus gaining meterpreter sessions. Its not a complete show stopper, but i wanted to demo how one could get access even to a users webcam. Problem is, the VMs don't have web cams right. So while i was waiting for my nut to arrive, i prematurely grabbed a few cheap $5 usb webcams from micro center. The cams work right out of the box on both my realworld linux and windows machines, but it seems i can't do usb passthroughs to VMs on XenServer, accept for usb storage devices. I am wondering if anyone else using xenserver has managed to get anything working like this. The idea was to plug in a few usb web cams and assign them to different VMs on my host. I read somewhere that it may be possible with usb over network but the devices i have found for that seem to expensive of a risk. I realize that xenserver is open source so i guess i was hoping someone made a plug in for this. I gather another option would be to use a different hypervisor rather than xenserver. but i don't feel like paying for ESXi and had a real hard time trying to build an iso for nuc. none of the tutorials i have seen worked for me. Thoughts?
  2. Hi all, I recently set up xenserver on a nuc and have a bunch of isos on an external USB hard drive that I would like to create virtual machines from. I am completely lost as to how to access isos on that external hard drive.. It's plugged in via USB and shows up under my server as "Removable storage" from xencenter but I can't figure out how to point to it during the vm process.. Can someone please help
  3. ok so right now i have a few isos in my lib. :: subuntu kali 1 & 2, windows xp, 7, 8, & 10 does anyone have any other vm suggestions for noob like myself .. wondering if there are a typical things i can virtualize in my lab, like smart phones, printers, maybe some common consumer media servers and such that might be fun to attack
  4. Should I send the friend request now?
  5. I catch your drift though I am too skeptical to download anything from the high seas, would love some help finding some windows vm isos.. Pretty pretty please
  6. Do any iso's come with xenserver? I of course would like windows xp - windows 10 VMs but right now the only iso's i have in my lib are a few select free linux iso's.. any recommendations on where to find a few windows and mac isos?
  7. The nuc I ordered is this one:Intel NUC NUC5CPYH, 4K Support via HDMI, Intel HD Graphics, SATA3 for 2.5-Inch HDD/SSD BOXNUC5CPYH. Now I'm nervous, hope it does the trick
  8. Lol I understand how networks work its just the networking setup on xenserver docs that is confusing to me.. I will learn.. Thanks.. FYI I did some research on the kangaroo and apparently it is not suitable for xenserver for two reasons, in case anyone else is wondering.. 1. The bios is very limited and according to their docs only supports windows 10, you can not boot from any other device / install any other OS 2. The processor does NOT support virtualization.. Short of it all, I pulled the trigger and ordered a nuc along with two 4g ddr3l ram chip and a Kingston Digital 120GB SSDNow V300 SATA 3 2.5 All for $250 .. Thanks again all
  9. Anyway, back to the second part of my question.. Anyone have an idea if the kangaroo can be used?
  10. Of course.. I'm just trying to insure I can use a real machine to attack vms on xen, as the language for the different network types makes it sound like they can only talk to other vms on the xenserver
  11. SudOnick, I noticed you mentioned a Kali vm? Assuming Kali is your attacker machine, why would you need a virtual one? I hope I'm being clear, my idea is to have a real Kali laptop connected to the same network as the vms on the xenserver via WiFi and conduct my attacks from there on vms....
  12. any tuts up yet for developing modules for the nano? onus == eagerbeaver
  13. Mother Rucker!! ok, where can i buy this tetra hedon? don't see it in the hak5 store.. and all these people are saying they ordered it already?
  14. hello all. I, being new to the fabulous world of pen testing am now looking into setting up a lab with something like xenserver, but have a few noob questions.. 1. if i set up a bunch of VMs on a xenserver and connect that server to my home network via an ethernet connection, can i actually attack those VMs from a real world linux machine on the same real network, or only from another virtual machine on the xenserver? 2. what are the best options hardware and price wise for the xen server? I was looking at the really cheap ($99) Kangaroo by intel.. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883722001&cm_mmc=unlocked-_-article-_-kangaroopc-_-NA Idon't know if any of you have played with this little "pc." and I am wondering if you can actually ditch windows 10 on it and install xenserver. another option might be this little guy: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883254005 .. I know Darren and Shannon did a little diddy on using a nuc for xenserver, but being so uncertain about whether xenserver can do everything i want (see question 1), i really don't want to drop $600 (call me a cheapo, but i have spent a lot of money latly on this new little hobby) Thanks to anyone who cares to take the time to educate this noob. sincerely, onus
  15. I get that, but it certainly helps to have a little more tx power when one can't be as close to the target as one would like, no?
  16. I like the ALFA USB WIFI AWUS036NEH though as it does have a tx of 30db where my other two do not..
  17. That's a shame.. At least my TCLink and my other alpha card support 5gzh.. Time for the label maker..:)
  18. Recently I was playing with the ALFA USB WIFI AWUS036NEH using airodump-ng and I noticed its not seeing a 5ghz WiFi network that both my computer and phone see as an available network.. I went ahead and added the option -C 2000-6000 and still no 5ghz AP showing up.. If I limit it to -C 5000-6000 I get an error "no such channel" or something like that.. Does the ALFA USB WIFI AWUS036NEH not support this band?
  19. I'm on a nexus 6.. I have added WiFi hotspot to my plan and can now tether, before I couldn't even enable USB tethering.. So its tethered just not routing internet traffic.
  20. I don't have wp6 on my phone.. Using the pineapple connect app on an android.. Tethered via USB. Is there another way via the android app
  21. What is 8.8.8.8? I'm guessing I'm missing something on the phone side. Shows that it is thethered its just not routing the internet requests.. Like I said works the other way, with my laptop connected to the pineapple and my phone connected to freekittens
  22. So this morning, I wanted to try a little experiment. I tethered my pinappe to my Nexus 6 which has both an active wifi connection as well as a 3g Data connection. I then add a fake AP to the pool called "FreeKittens" and started broadcasting it. As expected, i was able to connect to "FreeKittens" from my laptop, but there is no internet connection.. Can someone explain to me what i need to do to allow anyone on "FreeKittens" get the internet from my phone? I also tried it the other way around, connecting the pineapple to my laptop which is ocnnected to the internet via wlan0 and broadcasting "freeKittens" then connecting to FreeKittens from my nexus and and it worked fine.. What am i missing?
  23. Oh i see.. O was tinking the wrapper would just run the python script.. I'll just have to wait til the api
