  1. where is the notepad.exe file from? Did you make it yourself, if so, how? Usually that error should mean that the exe is for an older version of windows than win7.
  2. Don't think so no. Zigbee uses the 2.4Ghz band and 915 Mhz in America and Australia, while working on 868 MHz in Europe. While Yard Stick one does work at 800-900 Mhz range, you have another problem. Yard Stick one is not SDR, so you have a fixed set of modulation schemes. I believe that Zigbee uses Binary phase-shift keying (BPSK) on the 800-900 Mhz band. Yard Stick one "only" supports ASK, OOK, GFSK, 2-FSK, 4-FSK, MSK. It would be much cheaper and easier just buying a zigbee shield for arduino or similar. Would be much easier to program.
  3. Alfa AWUS036NEH is 5 Ghz. And with a directional antenna you could go "pretty far". I remember watching a video where they just used a normal router, a normal wifi dongle and hooked both of them up with directional antennas. I believe it went for miles. It was a couple of years ago though.
  4. the Alfa AWUS036NEH is pretty decent, and is pretty stable with the pineapple. Hak5 sells it at the Hakshop. You could consider a directional antenna, if you know that you are always use the wifi at a certain spot.
  5. at 25c3 there was a talk about tracking phones. If you are interested in sniffing cellphones: http://www.rtl-sdr.com/rtl-sdr-cell-phone-imsi-tmsi-key-sniffer/ https://ferrancasanovas.wordpress.com/cracking-and-sniffing-gsm-with-rtl-sdr-concept/
  6. +1 for the Alfa AWUS036H I own the AWUS036NHA as well, it supports b/g/n. both are awesome!...
  7. Last time I checked, I was able to do session hijacking. Was couple of months ago. When paranoid, I always use "https everywhere" by EFF. It's a firefox plugin and I hardly ever notice it's wonderful magic.
  8. Would love to hear Michael Ossmann shouting this in real life:
  9. Or this one from Hak5's hakshop. it's got mac drivers :) http://hakshop.myshopify.com/collections/wireless-gear/products/alfa-usb-wifi-awus036neh
  10. Just did a quick readup. Installing the Alfa cards on OSX is a bit of a hassle, but it works on 32bit Macbooks. So do a readup on which model you like and find a tutorial how to install the driver.
  11. I believe the Alfa wifi cards should do the trick. A popular model for pentesting is the Alfa AWUS036NHA and can be bought on Ebay or Amazon and the likes. It's all about what chipset the wifi cards use. Stay away from Broadcom chipsets and stick to Realtek and Atheros Wifi chipsets.
