Hi,
When you say :
The pineapple appears in my network connections, and I've shared my home wifi with it, and set the pineapple IP to 172.16.42.1, 255.255.0.0.
Do you mean you have set 172.16.42.1 as the IP of your pineapple ASIX in Windows? , if so, it should be 172.16.42.42, cause it is the default gateway the pineapple will look for to get Internet, the internal's pineapple address is default to 172.16.42.1, so you don't have to set it,
Also, the mask is supposed to be 255.255.255.0,
Here is a quick video Darren made on the subject, it is with Win 10 but it is similar to some extent,
Hope this helps ;)
Quick EDIT : Also, if you'd like to use your kali VM, don't forget to setup the USB passthrough, then use wp6.sh from https://wifipineapple.com/wp6.sh to get its ICS to work,
Another Quick video from Darren on wp6.sh and Kali :

Hi there...
I found out this is still happening in 1.0.5, dunno if I'm setting up things wrong here...
No reports are generated, even tried setting up 'Send Report via email' option, still no luck,
The only 'report' I get is one at midnight, ending in '00-00.tar.gz', but it still contains the wrong data as mentioned in the previous post.
Has anyone managed to set up the reports and been able to generate a valid one?

Try manually saving a log under Logging>Location, put it to "/sd/something.txt"
I haven't tested whether that just changes the location or actually saves the log, it takes long enough that I think it saves a log. Then when you reboot that will be the default location to save.
I tried that, it works, the pineap.log gets saved in a folder on the SD card, the problem is when I set up the reports to be generated every hour, as on my previous screenshot, it doesn't generate the report hourly.
I have left the pineapple run overnight, it's been more than 12 hours running with pineAP logging probes and associations, I woke up this morning and I had only one file under the "/sd/wifipineapple_reports" named : WiFi_Pineapple_Report_2016-01-15-00-00.tar.gz . Opening that archive revealed only a folder containing two files, here are the contents:
probing_clients.csv

So, to recap, the reports aren't done hourly as expected, the report doesn't have all the content I requested in, the logs aren't cleared after the report is made.
I tried clearing cache on my browser and even tried a different browser, I see my settings getting saved in the UI, the logging feature seems a tidy bit messed up though... it won't do what I ask it to...

Hello there,
So far I have tried multiple configurations and I don't seem to be able to save the reports to my SD card,
I have set the reports to be produced every hour and to include everything, see screenshot below..Also, the reporting doesn't seem to clear the PineAP logs... I don't know if this is a known issue for other people so I thought of discussing it here before posting anything on the bugs tracking page,
Next step for me was to try a factory reset to see if it helps...

Just one thing I noticed while trying to reproduce your issue (and the desired results): The autossh file is in /etc/config not /etc/conf
Indeed!
I edited the post with the correct file path ;)
Thank you for pointing that out,

If this doesn't work, it is most likely because remote forwarding is disabled by default. Go to your server (in this case example.com) and add the following to /etc/ssh/sshd_config:
GatewayPorts yes
Perfect!
This was indeed the config option that was missing on the relay server,
Thank you very much for your support :)

Hello there,
I was playing around with my pineapple and managed to set up a reverse ssh with autossh so I can connect to my pineapple through my home server even if the pineapple is on another network,
So far much fun, but today I was wondering if it would be possible to tunnel the http traffic from the WebGUI on port 1471 to my server using the same idea...?
So far I tried with a similar config to the reverse SSH tunnel in /etc/config/autossh :
config autossh option ssh '-i ~/.ssh/id_rsa -N -T -R 420:localhost:22 root@example.com' option gatetime '0' option monitorport '20000' option poll '600'
I have been told that I can make multiple tunnels by simply adding more instances of:
-R port:hostname:hostport
It seems to work for other SSH sessions on other ports,
But with my testing I had no luck forwarding http traffic from port 1471 with:
-R 1471:localhost:1471
Does anyone has an idea on how this could be done?
I must be missing something here, something to install/configure on the home server perhaps..?
My goal is simply to be able to manage my pineapple from the GUI and SSH through my home server when I deploy it remotely.
Feel free to suggest any other method of achieving the said goal, with persistence of course.

Bump up!
This would indeed be a nice feature to have, as not all keyboards are configured equal, here in Quebec most people use Canadian French, but some people use Canadian Multilingual, and this causes me an headache every time I need to use quotation marks (") on a script because on CF it is SHIFT+2 but on CM it's SHIFT+. therefore my script isn't bulletproof, would be nice to be able to simply send ALT+3+4 to evade possible configuration issues. (though I think this method might only work on Windows boxes)
So far haven't found any solution, I am guessing the issue is at the firmware level, since it doesn't seem to be possible to modify a keyboard.properties file to do a complex sequence whenever quotation marks are requested (press & hold ALT, input 3 then 4 and finally release ALT)
Any help would be appreciated,
