  1. I think I would try plugging it directly into your router (using an Ethernet cable) and powering it with the AC wall adapter. Access it using the IP your router assigned it. At least that will give you the chance to stay connected and hopefully figure out whats wrong?
  2. Been busy lately. Haven't looked at this in a month... Now everything works?? Can someone tell me if there was an update in the last month? I need to know why it works now? Am I a noob who cant follow directions? Firmware update? Both? To be clear, I understand my troubleshooting wasn't going anywhere. Don't know why yet. I just know I can get every port working on it now and I don't think I've done anything different to get it to work?
  3. I'm tring to get Kali to dual boot on my Macbook Air 2013. When I open a console and type lspci -vnn | grep -i net I get 03:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM4360 802.11ac Wireless Network Adapter [14e4:43a0] (rev 03) Subsystem: Apple Inc. BCM4360 802.11ac Wireless Network Adapter [106b:0117] dmesg shows this error [ 2.953012] b43-phy0: Broadcom 4360 WLAN found (core revision 42) [ 2.954233] b43-phy0 ERROR: FOUND UNSUPPORTED PHY (Analog 12, Type 11 (AC), Revision 1) [ 2.954241] b43: probe of bcma0:1 failed with error -95 [ 2.954268] Broadcom 43xx driver loaded [ Features: PMNLS ] I've checked other forums with no success. Has anyone ever gotten the onboard wireless adapter to work with Kali?
  4. There are lots! Some are shorter videos like the one that explains SSH. Bash scripting. Operating systems. Rasberry Pi. Programming. Basically anything to do with computers. Nothing about hacking. But after these videos I can focus on using the pineapple, kali with a solid foundation. There is a 10 day free trial. $400US/year. You can find all this stuff on youtube with super cool background music being taught by someone who 'might' know what they are doing. What sold me is how well the vidoes are done. I don't want to search youtube all day. You get what you pay for. I don't know if this is worth it for you. I'm a pipe fitter by trade. As I progress into the administrative side of my industry, the Excel and Word videos are good as well. I make a living hitting things with a hammer when it dosent work right. I might need another Pineapple soon.
  5. Is their another way to reinstall the factory firmware if your eth port dosen't work? It kinda feels like I have 1/2 a brick.
  6. I just signed up to http://www.lynda.com. It was expensive but the videos are very well done. An excellent resource to get started with this stuff.
  7. I've tried firstboot as well. No sucess. With nothing plugged into any usb, lsusb gives me Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub If I plug my Alfa AWUS036NEH in, lsusb gives me Bus 001 Device 003: ID 148f:3070 Ralink Technology, Corp. RT2870/RT3070 Wireless Adapter Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub If I plug my Mac into either micro usb and try lsusb, nothing changes? Can someone try this and tell me your results? Please have nothing plugged into any usb on your Tetra Open a console and type lsusb Post results Plug the eth port into your computer and type lsusb again Post results Am I insane? There is a problem here right?
  8. dhclient was not on my Mac or Pineapple? How did you install it?
  9. Thanks for that advice! I'll try that when I get home. I have no issue logging into the Tetra through wireless or the rj45 port connected to my router. The web interface and ssh work just fine. I cant seem to do anything with the usb ports. I can't remember why I decided to do this but I read the I can default the Tetra with /sbin/jffs2reset reboot Since then the USB ports have been useless. Nothing happens when I connect the eth port to my Macbook Air (2013) running osx, Kali in VM Ware or usb booted with Kali, or my work computer a Surface Pro 2. As well I have a usb hub that gives a visual indication when something is plugged into it. The hub gives no indication that the Tetra is plugged into it. I always power the Tetra with supplied 2A power adapter. But oddly enough I am able to power the Tetra through the usb ports. I can power the Tetra with any/all combinations. I just cant seem to transfer any data through the usb. I always have to connect wirelessly or through the rj45 port to access it. I'm a bit of a noob with this. I always seem to take on a project that is slightly beyond me. To eliminate as many things as I could (although I don't think it matters for this issue) I decided to install Kali on a separate partition on my Macbook. I'm working on that now. I have also tried the firmware recovery directions listed on the website. It won't work because I can't connect through the eth port. I don't mind a good puzzle. Thats kinda why I'm attracted to this kinda thing. But I'm ready to figure this one out and move on to the next head scratcher.
  10. I want to mount two of the yagi antennas from the hak shop to a camera tripod. Is it a problem if I mount them stacked about 4" from each other? I'm concerned that too close might be an issue?
  11. Thanks! I'll try that this weekend. To be fair about my rant, Darren emailed me about my issue. All is well.
  12. Even a simple "were really busy right now, but we are on it" would be nice.
  13. Any thoughts on this? I've emailed Hak5 directly to ask for assistance... no reply. I also believe I have two defective batteries.
  14. You are looking at tutorials for the previous generation of pineapples. There isn't alot out yet for the TETRA. Try these https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLW5y1tjAOzI1benBAgqAbMExp5dWkQLgO
  15. My situation has went from bad to worse. I reset the pineapple to default twice and now the pineapple shows eth1 as up, no ip (from the pineapple only). When I would plug the eth port into my computer, a box asking if I want to connect the device to mac or linux would pop up. That dosen't happen anymore after the reset (directions found in the bug tracker but now are gone). I've shut everything off and rebooted, no success. The wp6.sh script dose not work for me because my computer won't see the connection at all now. Would it be more helpful if I put this in the bug tracker? Should I try wp6.sh from the pineapple?
