  1. Hi all, I have been away for a while with illness, recently updated the pineapple and I feel im back at square one. Without spoon feeding me, I am simply requesting some assistance locating a thread that can assist me with the following I wish to set the pineapple up and just do some recon and log the results. The information I would like as I have seen in the past is that the pineapple and find out the ssid's that the targets have been connected to previously. I thought I had this but It was going really slow for some reason. Also I would like the pineapple to do this by itself to connect at a later date if it is not in the below scenario. I am new to routing, I'll explain as best I can the scenario I am in. In the Lab the Pineapple is connected to a Linux box via Ethernet. That machine is then wifi connected to the Local network. I need the pineapple to do what it does but also configure it so that it can act as a gateway with internet access. I have previously had this working with a wp5 script or something? but again im starting over. I brought a Wifi dongle from the Hakshop at the time for some reason or another, plugging into the usb of the pineapple? cant recall the method to my madness or why any more tho. I think I saw darren explain this on a video? Really appreciate some help, my brain is a little frazzled. P.S. the new tooltips are pretty sweet, the routing part confuses the heck out of me tho.
  2. Well David, if you stepped bak5 you would see this is a small operation, before flaming the service publicly it may have been better to ask hey guys what's up?
  3. Still a large base of users with old hardware to exploit
  4. The talk about shiver, funny thing is that it is installed by usb thumb drive, either way I wanted to lease due to the tax benefits but if this is the software they are using - he seemed pretty unknowlegeable I'll steer clear cause I don't think I could even change the HDD for fear of remote wiping, but seriously some of those features sound godlike.
  5. Anyone heard of pcrentalagent? pcrentalgent.com ? I am interested in renting a laptop, apparently they load what they called pcagent onto it, so im thinking I may not be able to nuke windows in order to run linux. they make some pretty big claims on this site as to what it is capable of, some seem almost too hardcore however looking into intel's AMT technology makes me wonder ? This is all I could find.. http://www.pcrentalagent.com/esiteWay/Installing.htm really appreciate any feedback.. the cpu is Intel Core i7-4702MQ + Quad Core
  6. Any disadvantage to either? I hear that if I get the nexus I can do more hacky things perhaps run Kali? Will the Samsung be locked down?

  10. Cooper, your a warrior on this forum mate, and I appreciate this clear and upfront explanation. My gut was telling me best to run from a USB I am just not the best at listening sometimes. You have certainly made things a lot clearer tho now. I will continue on my voyage of discovery! At present I have been playing in elementary OS (feels like training wheels lol) and enjoying trying to figure out this Arch linux which has been quite the experience! Watch this space! in a few months I may be able to share some of my input back with the community I hope! Thank you all.
  11. So, I understand root to be the "all powerful" what I am not understanding <edit: shit I have been dealing with IBM too much lately> What I don't understand is if it is OK to run kali under root to perform awesomeness, then why should Kali not be used as an everyday distro for me to learn linux / debian on ? Is there any point to me using another distro for learning my way around linux? how would using vanilla debian be more beneficial over customising my own kali ? I ask you lot as I feel a higher level of intelligence here. Am I not paranoid enough? "Kali must be run on a disposable USB" I understand I can make a everyday user account to work from, why not do this? I would appreciate your input in dispelling what I believe maybe urban legends..
  12. For myself I am running a solar setup on 12v with an additional +12v 3amp vreg which smooths out the voltage to 12.1v before hitting the pineapples vreg which then smooths it out more and I can report no heat issues to the pine as the vreg handles that :) https://forums.hak5.org/index.php?/topic/31595-solar-powered-pineapple-project/?hl=solar

  15. Hey guys, would this be beneficial for the pineapple ? http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/2-4G-AP-router-extender-5w_1874220838.html I don't really understand the science behind antenna gain etc so I am sceptical if this product would improve performance ?
  16. Bloody hell, Installing Arch could be better documented right!
