  1. Thanks, Can someone explain why sending all traffic and receiving all traffic through the pineapple cant mask you, I'm only asking as I'm interested what is it they can see and why can't we hide in the background not seen. I don't like the idea that someone can spy and keep tracks on me, I'm only asking because I'm curious.
  2. Hi fellow Pineapple users, I think the title says it al but I'll ask again: Can the Pineapple make you anonymous to your ip provider ???
  3. Three's a project going where you can flash one of 3 routers and then they can be used as a private network with a built in website, (instant chat, a notice board a forum, file sharing etc) but with no internet, I know I can do similar with the Pineapple but its the web interface that I want to run (Is this Possible). where I live there's probably be 10-12 mates within range of my pineapple and it also has other interesting. uses e.g. A school class can all log on to the tutors network, it can be used at a concert or party where all the guests can upload photo's and many many other use interesting uses. Would it be possible to get there website which I think is open source and just get it running on the Pineapple or would a new infusion need to be made. Thanks I know its not exactly pen testing but it could be useful http://piratebox.cc/
  4. Hi all, as some of you may know my charger packed in and I tried using a charger that I had lying about. Only it was in ma not amps, However I ended up getting a new charger and all is fine. Well this morning my DVB-T USB TV RTL-SDR FM+DAB Radio Tuner Stick Realtek Receiver RTL2832U+R820T OZ that I had ordered arrived. I plugged it in my Pineapple and it worked fine for a few minutes, 17 planes listed and in map view, then I clicked to the next tab and back to refresh the page and it was no longer working, My new charger is a multi charger set at 9 volt @ 1.7 amp, Is it shutting down because its not recieving enough power my access point also drops as well, Removing the USB Adapter and powering down and back up puts it back to normal. Any info would be appreciated. Marc
  5. Same thing here GB, I first noticed it a couple of hours ago
  6. W = A(V) MK5 accepts 5V - 12V and requires ~10W So 5V @ 2A = 10W Or 12V @ 1A = 12W Thanks a lot Darren, (I I like the example, handy to know). This is my first Pineapple and I'm a bit of a newbie with Linux I'm not a complete newbie but I've still got a good bit to learn Anyway keep up the good work and more Videos on the Pineapple V5 would be nice. Marc ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 9V 1.7A is fine, as long as you have ~10W of power. Do not go over 12V though. Best Regards, Sebkinne Thanks for explaining that, I'ts working fine at 9 volt @ 1.7 amp at the moment so I'll leave it here for now. Many thanks Marc ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  7. I've got the choice with this new charger of 7.5 volt - 2 amps 9 volt - 1.7 amps 12 volt - 1.7 amps 13.2 volts - 1.5 amps What would be the best to go with? I'm using 9 volts 1.7 amp at the moment and all is working fine. Thanks
  8. The current I in milliamps (mA) is equal to the current I in amps (A) times 1000 milliamps per amp: I(mA) = I(A) × 1000mA/A. Now I see where I went wrong.
  9. When I say 1 amp and 2 amp it says 100ma and 200ma which I thought meant 1 amp and 2 amp, me bad, I'll research more next time but I'm happy now, Hak5 really need an outlet in the UK, It would make buying there products and replacement parts so much easier. Thanks everyone for the info. Marc
  10. [ Fixed ] Yeah it was down to the power supply, I had 2 chargers 1 was 9 volt at 2 amps and the other 9 volts at 1 amp, however after checking them one was throwing out 14 volts and the other just over 13 volts, I've been out and bought a multi charger and set it to 9 volts 1.7 amps and now all is back to normal. Strange I could understand not putting enough volts through causing things to shut down but putting 14 volts through I would of thought would of either blown it or just worked. A word of caution. Just because a charger says 9 volts doesn't mean its putting 9 volts out , well at least that was the case with 2 chargers I had knocking about.
  11. Hi, I'm new here so first of Hi to everyone. Yesterday I unplugged my charger and plugged it in somewhere else but there was no lights on my Pineapple, I checked the charger and there was no output. I rooted through my box of old chargers and found a 9v 200ma charger, I plugged it in and the lights came on, I was so relieved. But when I tried to connect i was having problems connecting to the default access point (Pineapple5_24B7). I can connect the Pineapple to my WiFi in client mode I can ssh in I can connect by Ethernet I can restore to factory settings. The 2 things that I cant get to work are the access point which is created but when I try to connect to it from my laptop it times out. I also had an alpha WiFi adapter plugged in by USB but for some reason in WiFi manager I clicked on remove config thinking it would reset when I plugged it back in but now it wont accept the USB adapter. I have syslogs as well as Dmesg plus a clip from SSH window. I'll include the logs bellow in the hope someone can help me get it working fully again. Many many thanks in advance. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dmesg Output:
