  1. I believe one of them is bad. I will be testing them before setting up FreeNAS. Thanks for the help you did provide. I really do appreciate it.
  2. So far in my research I have not found a way to hack the 210. I attempted to complete a fresh install of that 4.4 image but it was not successful. It looks as if I will be tearing this thing apart and recycling the drives. May just end up putting them in a PC and setting up FreeNAS.
  3. No manual in the zip file. I don't think I should use this version since it is 4.4 and the CD I found for the 210 states GuardianOS 5.2 User CD I'm assuming 5.2 is (was) installed. Using 4.4 may cause more problems. I may use it as a last resort. My preference would be to hack it somehow and install a Linux distro so I wouldn't have to worry about GuardianOS any longer. If I can't find a way to hack it then, like I stated, using that 4.4 image will be my last resort. Thanks.
  4. Wow. Your search-fu is truly greater than mine. My only concern is if that version is for my version hardware. Downloading the zip file now to see if there is a manual or something that specifies what hardware that version OS works with.
  5. By the way, this is the screen I see: https://copy.com/2EsTPSTA23ID
  6. Per that post, I was not able to get to a debug screen with any of the URLs provided. It could be the version of the GuardianOS they are referring to be able to get to the debug screen is an older version of GuardianOS I have on my 210.
  7. Oh. Wait. I see what you mean. A Clean install. I will try that.
  8. I don't have access to the OS. The guys that used to work here, that no longer work here, installed the device and I have no idea where they put the OS stuff. All that I have is the Quick Start Guide with a CD that states GuardianOS 5.2 User CD. As I understand it, the file needed to reference for the OS install is a .gsu file; I could not find that file on the CD. I believe in order for me to get the necessary OS files from Support I have to renew the maintenance/warranty. It's not worth the money to do that.
  9. Anyone know if it is possible to hack a SnapServer to use a Linux distro of some type? If no one knows, is there a way to suggest a hack attempt to the show host? I have an old SnapServer 210 from work I found lying around not being used that doesn't seem to work any longer. It powers up and I can browse to the web console but it states something like "Reboot this machine to bring it up. If this isn't the first time you've rebooted then contact support." Of course I am paraphrasing there. Then there's options to Repair or Reinstall the OS. So, seeing all of this is where my assumption comes in that there is something wrong with it. Also, I have a flashing amber light on it. I attempted to contact support but they stated the product has been out of warranty since 2012 and I would need to renew the support to get support. I know it still has drives in it so it would be nice to continue using it as a NAS. Is this possibe? I'm not that familiar with SnapServers so any information would be appreciated.
