To my knowledge the travel kits are shipping separately to your MK5 (anecdotal). On one hand it sucks to have your launch let down by a supplier, but hell I know how that feels absolutely nothing you can do about it. On the other hand, Hak5 has an amazing dedication to its customers. I have no idea how you managed to foot the bill on double shipping for international. That's how you know they care.

In an ideal world, it is all the same, 50 Ohm impedance no difference its more or less the same spec. The physical advantage of SMA is the sensitive prone to breaking pin is in the cable, which is far easier to replace. Connector polarity was introduced more or less just to annoy anyone who cared at the time, unfortunately the Wifi/2.4GHz went on the RP bandwagon and everyone else went the other way. No Ham worth his salt would dare go anywhere with a bag of 20 assorted adapters, there is no standard, you either swing one way or the other. Traditionally the high power/gain antennas went SMA which is why consumer grade equipment went RP to prevent out of regulation usage.

Wow that layout is sex on a PCB. Love the RF squiggles on the back, very elegant layout. I ordered mine on the monday after release, showed up this wednesday (UPS expedited, Aus post on our side). Not bad! Shouldn't be long now :)

Its all good! I've got stacks of adapters so no worries, thought I'd let you know about it incase there was an issue. I definitely recommend Melbourne, went on holidays there recently and did not want to go home. The beaches in Queensland are also very nice, and its summer here! :)

Hey guys! I just got my MK5 yesterday and it is amazing piece of kit, I can see why your so happy with it. So what happened, I had it plugged in and running all night, woke up the morning, huh? Lights are off? Strange.. Double check all of the connections, try another power point with the adapter, still nothing. At this point I'm freaking out a little, my poor pineapple, and all of my test gear is at work! Then I thought I'd try out another adapter, a 12V number I had on my desk for something else, lights come on, she's alive! What a relief. So, without jumping to conclusions, I think I may have gotten a dud power adapter. I'll bring the adapter to work tomorrow and see what it is putting out. Other relevant info is I live in Australia with 240V mains, maybe there is an issue there? I know you would have tested the hell out of those adapters on 120V in the US, maybe they do something funny on 240V? Who knows. Anyone else had any issues?
