  5. i was wondering if there was a way to look at where someone is using their phones GPS? this person has a trackphone cell phone and hes missing. i know this may seem like a stupid question but in all honesty im worried about them. i cant really go into details but its a family member. if i can get any help that would be great Trust your technolust
  6. i look forward to seeing tghis i suck at hardware mods, but i LOVE the idea of a mobile pinapple rover. if only EVDO cards didnt have a 5 GB limit you could put a combination of an EVDO card router and pinapple hardware inside of this tank and be unstoppable

  9. i guess what i was trying to put out is that it would look like you are giving up the goods when you actually are not i am in the customer service field for computer repair and if you look like you are doing something you dont want to do then most people are happy, even if its exactly what you mean to do. i didn't know about that FDE drive, i will take a look at it and see what its about thanks
  10. here is a link to a picture of the mouse http://regmedia.co.uk/2008/10/10/wow_mouse_01.jpg my appologies. its a flash based site so there is no direct link but its the mouse on the left of this http://www.steelseries.com/int/download and heres the download link for the driver files themselves http://www.steelseries.com/downloads/Drive...WoWMSWv1_03.exe it has like 15 programmable buttons. its the best mouse ive ever seen or used but i want it to work for other games/apps. the lines on the back can pulse with any color that you specify (ex. photoshop's color picker) under the illumination panel and you can choose how brightly it glows and how fast it pulses if at all again my coding experience is crap, but I'm using this as a reason to get back into coding
  11. i just purchased the world of warcraft mouse from steelseries. i dont play wow anymore but i want to create a mod for it that allows me to change the coloring of the lights or the pattern in which the mouse lights up. i am terrible at programming but I'm going to give it a try. any ideas and advice is welcome. going to start researching http://www.steelseries.com/us/products/partners this is the link to their website if i can hack this mouse i think it would be awesome to get it to rotate colors and patterns.. maybe even pulse when i get an email or something
  12. hardware or software raid?
  13. thanks for the info. i can just boot from a thumb drive and install these programs and run them like a live CD so i can run them from the lab machines thanks for the info sir
  14. doesnt work in windows. i get forward host lookup failed. im new to netcat, sorry for being a noob
  15. hello all. i was wondering if anyone knew of a bandwidth testing program that can flood my network between 2 hosts and record how much data went across the wire. i know this sounds like a DOS attack but i am trying to show the real life difference in network types.. cat5, cat5e, cat6, fiber, etc. if you have to have matching programs on the same network to enable the flood thats fine. im just working on a final project thanks all!
  16. well.. trinity rescue kit worked at my work. i havent personally used it but my buddy did and he swears by it http://trinityhome.org/Home/index.php?wpid...amp;front_id=12 http://trinityhome.org/Home/index.php?wpid=1&front_id=12 enjoy
  17. very nice. thank you for pointing me to that. im going to try it out when i can.. thinking of making a dual boot hack box and it would be sweet to have it be safe from prying eyes thanks
  18. ok. its late but i just had a brilliant idea.. lets say that you are doing bad things and you want to hide it. would it be possible to dual boot a computer using trucrypt's dual container file? so lets say you have to decrypt your HDD. if you put in one password you would get one install. and if you put in another password you would get your other install. that way if you get caught you can start a reboot and if they order you to log in you can just show them the innocent looking side. and if the analized the HDD all they would get is gibberish. its just a thought.. im going to try it when i get done with some finals lemme know what you all think about it and if it would be possible. im thinking that you could just copy the files from one level of the encrypted drive to the next. sorry about spelling mistakes and all that. im too tired to give a rats ass
  19. i went to the switchblade page and the wiki that holds the files for reimaging the U3 drives is down is there a mirror somewhere that these are linked?
  20. basically i want the power to see whats going on when we aren't around. motion detection would be preferred. i picture a USB power blopck that converts AC power to USB ower, which is hooked into a battery and gives the webcam power. i could use some of the commercial webcams with the AC power already on it and run the Ethernet cable from the barn to the farmhouse but with the distance that I have to go and no real ability to run a secure line, wireless would be best ( the paths between the barn and house are usually used for loading horses and loading trailers and things). sorry i haven't been to clear on this.. im at work and am typing this while on break. ill give a better layout of what i want when i get home
  21. good product... ill take a look at it.
  22. heres the rough layout of the farm. i want to go wireless because the barn is old and i don't want a machine runnin in there 24/7 because of the hay and other things that could catch fire or just get plugged up.
  23. Hello. I was wondering if anyone here has some good links or advice for me. my grandmothers barn was broken into and all of her stuff was stolen from it,(saddles, tools.. etc), and i am going to implement a security system that incorporates infrared security cameras that are motion activated and then broadcast their signal to a wireless AP and out to an FTP server so that the footage is secured offsite. i don't really know where to begin.. Ive gotten some stuff off of lifehacker and things like that but was just wondering if the Hak5 community would have any insight to my problem Thanks
