  1. Just a quick question Can I run tcpdump on the lan port and direct the output file to the sd card with the standard pinapple set up easily, or will it require an infusion to do. I want to run the wlan as access to another wireless AP acting as the gateway Still working out my option for a kind of monkey like project, but 2nd Ap will run 3g usb stick for internet connection to allow long distance monitoring that is seperate from the pineapple. the 2nd Ap is a d link shareport portable router, with usb stick, 3g management that is battery powered, planning to hook up a solar charger to charge the battery.....(hide it in a garden gnome) this is to provide hidden access, only connecting on a set time to retrive the log file from the sd card, and will be silent for the rest of the time. Still working out the concept...
  2. I even like the clever way of making GNU transmit by using the sound card feed into an amp anf rf module. Simple circuit design, will have to give it a go this weekend ,have the parts in the componet box already.
  3. Hi all Just read this article on using Rtl-sdr to create a proof of concept to break key fobes rolling code scheme. It is at http://spencerwhyte.blogspot.ca/2014/03/delay-attack-jam-intercept-and-replay.html?m=1 Interesting concept....
  4. Hi digip Thanks for your lengthy reply, I have found the list you have been talking about. It is good infomation, will help with what I want to experiment with. Peter
  5. While I like the cleverness of how its done, And even think it is a neat trick that could be used for other projects, how about hidden web pages on a router or app that is only shown with the correct browser is detected. as pointed out above, the average user dosen't think twice about router security, let alone know that they can update the firmware, they are blissful unaware that they may be open to attack from their router. All sort of things can be done once the root user has been accuried, from data interception to planting viruses onto every computer that acssess the compromised box. Just on point, I scanned my wardriving data base for identified D link routers, and I have over 80 mapped, so once you craked the wpa2, you could own the system, just people who are unaware of the risk. The computer industry goes on about makings sure you have the latest anti virus and to keep your definitions up to date, what about the companies make auto updates on firmware part of router security so the device is automatically updated as holes are found. They need to take a leaf out of microsofts book with their pain in the backside update policy, even if I hate it, I understand the.need for it. Peter
  6. Hi all I have finally gotten my hands on a kali iso 368 image that works, so I have spent saterday night trying to install it. Now I have tried to install on a virtualbox on both my XP rig and my Hp mini windows 7 rigs. Now I have a problem, when trying to install from the iso, both machines have been failing at the same point 69% install, without fail, it won't make 70%, keeps coming up incompatable kernel poe not enabled. Now I have gone into bios and enabled the virtual cpu, and also have enabled the poe option in virtual box on both machines. Yet it still fails on both machine, I have tried to set the virtual machine as linux 2.6/ debien/ ubuntu without luck. But here is the kicker, I could set up both virtual boxes with the live kali with poe option ????? It will run virtual live kali, but won't virtual install. Any ideas as to what I may be doing wrong would be apreciated. Peter
  7. I was shocked...when I read it, horrified when it worked...amused at the craftiness of the programmer to hide it this long so it ended up in many products. spliting the string up and only combining it at the last second in assembly, it wasn't going to show, the only way to find it was to run it thought a debugger and pay careful attention to the values in the stacks and what it is compared to, and that is how it was found. I am glad that D-link has fixed it in the latest firmware, just need to flash the update.
  8. I have been reading about the security breach with the D-link products, and have a back door hard encoded. So today I thought I back out my D-link products and tested them. I started by loading up a portable firefox and the add in required with the back door string, I won't give the exact details, its out on the net, just saying what I found. So I tested a DIR-300 , didn't work, its secure. next was the DSL 504T asdl modem, again it is secure, the back door didn't work. But next I tested two of my DI-524up, opened up the browser and was being asked for a password, so far it is secure, but when I activated the backdoor........open seaseme...... The back door complete bypass the login page and gave me root user, both on the lan port, and the wlan port, yes it works wirelessly. Anyone using D-link routers , need to look this up with the effective models, then urgently update the firmware, or replace the gear, this is a massive backdoor I have posted on here as I haven't seen any thread on the subject and as it is a.major breach, needs to be fixed quickly

  10. Yes, I think you are right, it is a cache issue, but that is what threw me of track, I had shut down the browse about 4 times, rebooted everything, inculding the computer at least 3 times. and it still had no tiles, it must be a problem with seamonkey and the way it clears its caches. I will make sure i hit reload often from now.
  11. I have just went in and tried what you have suggested, and after booting ang login in, got the same result with seamonkey, no tiles Then I reload as you have suggested. I feel like a mug..... Reloading restored the tiles in sea monkey.... you would think that restarting and rebooting the computer would be enough. So just hitting reload has solved it, I wonder how many other issues are caused by this. It must be a problem with Seamonkey, now I have firefox on the machine I will continue to use it. thanks for the help Whizdumb Peter
  12. I have solved the problem, but I don't know what caused it. I am running Seamonkey 2.1.1 on my XP rig, I updated to the latest 2.2.4, still no fix, so I downloaded firefox and installed....I now have full pineapple interface again. So Seamonkey is now another Brower that doesn't like the latest firmware...this will be good to know for others, its all a learning process I am good now. Thank you for your quick assistance to a newbie, I appreciated it, Sebkinne. Peter
  13. Just checked I can browse the full interface with firefox on my HP mini. Tried again with firefox on Xp machine, I can get it up in the browser and after I login in, all I get is the top green box with time up and load and the exit button, all other tabs, boxes, pages are gone. Was working before I flashed the latest firmware. So if not an issue with firmware, could it something out of date that is incompatable with this latest firmware flash Peter
  14. I agree, it sounds strange, before I packed up for dinner,I plugged back in my Mk IV, it worked, browser showed the full screen, the MkV was working before I flashed it. Give me an hour and I go plug it into th HP mini which can browser it by Wlan. One thing I just been thinking, could it be an issue with the script version, my Hp has the latest version loaded, my Xp rig I have updated in a while. Will let you know later tonight. peter
  15. update, I can connect wirlessly but when I connected by LAN I only have the top header, but by Wlan, I have the full screen, it is up and running, but i don't have the full interface screen logged in by LAN I have rebboted the pinapple. I have rebooted the computer I have being using firefox, so I tried IE8, still the same result. only the time up and load header is shown from the LAN side. but when I log in by WLAN, I get the full interface, and can use all the functions, something is wrong with this latest firmware. Peter
  16. Hi All I had just flashed the latest verison of the firmware just an hour ago, and now something has gone wrong. I had followed every step correctly lights patterns as per book it reboots ask to change password reboots again then the continue button appears , click it to continue. then I get a screen that has the time up and load values header at the top of the sreen. everything else is gone no tabs no nothing. my lights are green (solid) amber (flashing twice every five seconds, solid the rest ) blue (solid) I have tried to reboot with the dip switchs, but get the same result. is there a way to flash an earlier version to get back up. peter
  17. Hi all I have been trying to sort out both of my pineapples over the last few days, so today I been trying to get my MK IV sorted. now when it arrived last year, I breifly mangaed to connect it via USB tether to my android tablet. but could't connect to the lan side, I could connect by the wlan, but as I was short of time, it got put aside until now. Now I have managed to get my mk V running via XP , i have a thread in the MK V section, so I thought, greatly just plug in the MK IV on the same setting and should be ok....nope.. i had found that I had no lights at all, had tried LAN and the POE LAN connectors, with the same setup that worked with the MK V. After leaving it for 15 min, I manage to get the browser up using the POE LAN port and an open internet connection, now my firm ware was 2.7.0. I updated to the latest 2.8.1. today I now have lights and an instant connection with the POE LAN port, but still can't connect via the LAN port. Was there an issue with the 2.7.0. firmware and the lans ports. Am I doing something wrong with the LAN port. Also on a side note with Windows XP set the internet connect sharing port on you internet side first, as it prompts you to select the LAN port to share with, I found it overrides the I.P address (it assigns the following 192.168.0.1 to your LAN connection automatically and wipes out what you have set) , after you have set the ICS port first, set the LAN connection properties last to 172.16.42.42 Peter
  18. I was planning to use the notebook with wireshark, as I have all my tools on it, so I will have to rethink my platform options. It is disapointing that windows has done this. I might try to run virtualbox , as I have mint setup vm that is running my firmware tools. I have live disc of backtrack 2 and 4 I can try to install, I tried to download kali but got a bad iso image , half the files gone, or my anti v decided to delete them. Anyway, let it be known that windows 7 starter has no ICS on it, so you can't provide internet thru it.
  19. Hi all Well while I had my Mark 5 since its launch, I have only managed to play with it the last week as I am on holidays....yes I know...slack.... Anyway I have just spent the last 24 hours trying to work out why I can't get it to work on my HP mini note 210 1000 which is running Windows 7 Starter, now I know this is suppose to be a cut down version , and I have patched it to allow you to change wall paper now, but what I didn't know, is the fact that it doesn't have internet sharing....... I could connect my broswer to the pineapple, but couldn't connect to the bar, no internet I could connect to the internet as normal by the browser. but no matter what, I couldn't get it to provide the pineapple with internet. I am using a 3g Hawuia usb modem as my connection source plugged into the HP mini notebook, and also my android tablet as wireless AP connect wirelessly to the HP mini notebook, neither worked. I had tried to follow the instructions and video by darren, but I just realised the network adapters had no tab for internet sharing, and that is when I realised, Windows 7 starter doesn't support internet sharing. see msdn doc http://windows.microsoft.com/en-au/windows7/networking-in-windows-7-starter ...............bugger......... so, does anyone know of a solution. If not, let this post be a guide for anyone else tearing their hair out using windows 7 starter on small note books I have switched to my experimental rig running XP, and followed the instructions for setting internet sharing, I can now access the pineapple bar. peter
  20. Hi all I have a simple question, as a newbie, and I know it is most likely right in front of me. But, how do I access infusions... Thanks
  21. Yes, that did the trick......I was using the wrong port Thank you
  22. Hi all I am new on here, and I am hvaing trouble setting up a mk Iv pineapple I purchased. I have tried both my p1000 and my new tab 3 sm_t210 samsung tablet which is now rooted. I can get it to succefully connect together via wifi, but no matter what IP address typed onto the browser, I can't get the main page. I have tried both the internal browser and the latest build of firefox for android. I must be doing something simple wrong, but I just don't know. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
