Thanks. Good to know it is a known issue and will be addresssed in the near future.

What interface are we supposed to be monitoring? Is it br-lan?
-
Running 3.0.0 and have a question. What Karma log does the Web UI use? I noticed that Web UI is not the same as /var/karma.log?
Thanks!
-
I get crashes all the time. Running 3.0.0 and trying to run urlsnarf and sslstrip. As soon as a client connects, it crashes.
-
Same here. Reboots with even moderate load when powered through my laptop.
So are we suppose to use urlsnarf/sslstrip/other tooling from the laptop monitoring the ethernet connection?
What about it is being advertised as useable standalone?

Okay, so the Pineapple does remember the root password, but that is about it :(
In Karma it keeps forgetting the SSID I set (even though I click persistent). Another thing is that the date/time is not remembered. Every time it is set back to 01-01-1970.
Anyone else have this?

Yup, think you are right. Turned off cellular and 3G on the iPhone, connected over WiFi to the Pineapple. Then browsed the Internet. No dice. I think when I tried before, I was browsing a cached page (Google news which is notorious for caching).
Thanks for your help. Off to do some more research!

So after a reset I can SSH into the Pineapple as root user using the deafult password. I can also access the Web UI using root/default password.
I then change the default password using the Web UI.
Without turning off the power of the Pineapple I can SSh into the Pineapple as root user using the new password. I can also acces the Web UI using root/new password.
However, when I take the power off and turn it back on say a day later, I can no longer access the Web UI or SSH into the Pineapple using root/new password or root/default password.
I need to reset the Pineapple and make all my configuration changes again (including changing the default password).
Hope this clarifies. When it happens again I will post screen shots.

Hi there,
Another question while I'm getting to learn the Pineapple.
The Pineapple seems to keep losing root access. After resetting the Pineapple, I change to root password. I can connect to the web UI and SSH with the new root password. However, after a longer period powered down, I cannot login to root anymore. Not with the new password and not with the default password. I have to reset the Pineapple and start all over again.
Anyone else have seen this?
Thanks!

Hi there,
Second post (I posted this same question in the questions forum, but not sure if that was the right place)...
I have a question as I'm slightly confused :)
I'm using my Mark IV Pineapple (v3.0.0) with OS X Lion. There are many instructions on the Internet on how to configure the Ethernet adapter and enable Internet Sharing.
My setup is such that on my Mac I connect to the Internet via WiFi. Then I use the Ethernet cable to connect the Pineapple from the LAN/PoE port to the Mac's Ethernet port. I have configured the Mac's Ethernet port with the fixed IP address 172.16.42.42 etc and have enabled Internet Sharing from WiFi to Ethernet.
It is also a known problem that Internet Sharing (ICS) does not quite work with the Pineapple on OS X. Indeed I cannot access the Internet from the Pineapple when I SSH into the Pineapple and for example try to ping www.google.com. I also cannot download any infusions in this way through the Web interface (I can connect to the web interface from the Mac by browsing to 172.16.42.1:1471.
However, I can connect with a 3rd device (iPhone) to the Pineapple's WiFi and for example browse the Internet from the iPhone.
Why am I able to connect from my iPhone via the Pineapple to the Internet, but not directly from the Pineapple using the same configuration?
Any info greatly appreciated as I am a bit puzzled :)
Many thanks!
