  1. Ok i tinkered around abit and got network manager to work. It had to be set to WAN in wireless settings. "" config wifi-iface option device 'radio1' option network 'lan' <-------- Needs be wan!! option mode 'sta' option ssid 'DXXXXXX' option key 'password' option hidden '1' option encryption 'psk2+tkip+aes' "" Now i have connection to my AP and am able to ssh and http into pineapple.
  2. client is connected through external adapter and assigned 192.168.x.x. I have seen association with AP and pineapple using network manager, but hostname is blank and i cannot ssh to the assigned IP.

I have backtrack as client on VM. My goal: connect my pineapple using external wifi adapter to local AP ( with WAP) and be able to completely ditch the Ethernet cable. Thanks for the help!
  4. Here is my problem. My AP is set to WAP. I am VMing to Backtrack and ICS is done through windows. If i could ssh into pineapple through backtrack i can go with suggestion above. Is there a way to rout physical port to client backtrack on VM so i can ssh into pineapple?
  5. So i have been digging around and getting considerably confused. I am trying to do the set up described above. specifically the step where you set pineapple as client and connect it to existing AP. pineapple is connected to by Ethernet cable to computer. I did download network manager and that's where i'm sitting right now. I will dig around further but a little hint is greatly appreciated. Thanks
  6. i have Alpha 36H, would definitely need the hub. I know there are few suggestions on how to power pineapple using just dc to hub. Any suggestions/ experiences /recommendations?
  7. My general question would than be, is there any way to ditch the ethernet cable and use wireless to control pineapple?
  8. Thanks for Reply, Another quick question as i am trying to wrap my head around setup. Is the following possible? connect cat 4 to computer, set up pineapple so it connects to local AP. disconnect cat 4 and access pineapple through AP? Cheers!!
  9. Thanks for quick reply Sebkinne, Since we are on the topic, do i need script to access pineapple (SSH) if i am using VM backtrack with windows 7 as host?
  10. How do i edit, any file for that matter, through pineapple interface in advanced option. I heard pressing "i" would do but doesn't work. Thanks,
