  1. Ok, I was having problems with it downloading but I got them fixed. After downloading SET and modifying the config file so it uses Apache and made sure the Metasploit path was correct I ran set. Here is what it output. Also if you will notice on line 167 when inputing the IP Address after typing 19 it jumped the cursor to the beginning of the line so when I finished typing it overwrote the prompt. Also it never asked what executable file I wanted to deploy. Then when it launches msfconsole I get a bunch of errors... By this point I am ready to give up. I wanted to do this as a prank on my friend and now I'm not sure if its worth it.
  2. I am working on the painfully slow download from git. I will let you know how it works as soon as I get it downloaded and the config file edited. PS: When I was registering for this forum I was unaware that Hak5 was a show. I did a google search and found these forums. You may want to modify that question to be more specific. I tried the host of the first show that came to my mind...
  3. I am using the backtrack repos to install metasploit, SET, and AirCrack-ng. Should I use the Kali repos instead? My laptop is not "strong" enough to use VM, I have 2GB in Ram and a crappy Pentium M processor that is running at 100% almost all of the time. And I have put too much in to Linux Mint to switch distros.
  4. I have a few reasons: I like Linux Mint My processor has no support for PAE Linux Mint handles USB devices (ex: mice, headsets, ect.) better than any other Linux distro If I was to change distros it would be Backtrack, not Kali. Just out of curiosity, why did you suggest a distro rather than answering my question???
  5. I am able to run msfconsole with no problems, however when I use SET to do a metasploit browser exploit it crashes with this: [-] Launching MSF Listener... [-] This may take a few to load MSF... /opt/metasploit/apps/pro/msf3/lib/fastlib.rb:374:in `require': no such file to load -- rubygems (LoadError) from /opt/metasploit/apps/pro/msf3/lib/fastlib.rb:374:in `require' from <internal:gem_prelude>:158:in `load_full_rubygems_library' from <internal:gem_prelude>:270:in `const_missing' from /opt/metasploit/apps/pro/msf3/lib/msf/sanity.rb:40:in `<top (required)>' from /opt/metasploit/apps/pro/msf3/lib/fastlib.rb:374:in `require' from /opt/metasploit/apps/pro/msf3/lib/fastlib.rb:374:in `require' from /opt/metasploit/apps/pro/msf3/lib/msf/core.rb:14:in `<top (required)>' from /opt/metasploit/apps/pro/msf3/lib/fastlib.rb:374:in `require' from /opt/metasploit/apps/pro/msf3/lib/fastlib.rb:374:in `require' from /opt/metasploit/apps/pro/msf3/lib/msf/ui/console/driver.rb:2:in `<top (required)>' from /opt/metasploit/apps/pro/msf3/lib/fastlib.rb:374:in `require' from /opt/metasploit/apps/pro/msf3/lib/fastlib.rb:374:in `require' from /opt/metasploit/apps/pro/msf3/lib/msf/ui/console.rb:11:in `<top (required)>' from /opt/metasploit/apps/pro/msf3/lib/fastlib.rb:374:in `require' from /opt/metasploit/apps/pro/msf3/lib/fastlib.rb:374:in `require' from /opt/metasploit/apps/pro/msf3/lib/msf/ui.rb:11:in `<top (required)>' from /opt/metasploit/apps/pro/msf3/lib/fastlib.rb:374:in `require' from /opt/metasploit/apps/pro/msf3/lib/fastlib.rb:374:in `require' from /opt/metasploit/apps/pro/msf3/msfconsole:136:in `<main>' Press [return] when finished. I opened all of these files and tracked the error down to sanity.rb and line 40 is: Gem::Version # trigger Rubygems to fully load So my question is, is this because I don't have the Gems required, if not what is wrong? Here is the Gems I have installed: wirble pg sqlite3 msgpack activerecord redcarpet rspec simplecov yard rails json hoe hoe-gemspec hoe-git hoe-bundler I have looked through 200-300 pages on google trying to solve my problem. Nothing has came up. All help is appreciated.
