  1. Looks like the driver and hardware is fine. Now you need to authenticate to the mobile network. For T-Mobile, the dial-in number is *99#, with no name or password.
  2. Assure the wifes laptop can ping the pineapples internet gateway 172.16.42.1. Check adapter's TCP config details for proper internet gateway.
  3. suddenly my virgin modem wont connect with 2.8 firmware. Connected fine in Windows. Poops out right after I get an IP. Here is the log. Any ideas anyone? 4. Update- I was able to get bluez-utils & dbus installed, but I am running into kernel issues installing kmod-bluetooth on Mark iV (2.7) root@Pineapple:/# opkg -d usb install kmod-bluetooth Installing kmod-bluetooth (3.8.9-1) to usb... Would updating to Firmware 2.8 help?
  5. Does the Cruzer stick or other USB devices, minus the modem, function when plugged into the hub? If not, then I would use TwistedPacket's suggestion and try another hub. Are you sure your getting 2.1A to the hub? Where is that power source from? I am using a Belkin F4U019 Passive Mobile Travel hub that you can get at OfficeMax for 15$, took the power lead from hub input and moved it to a powered 2.1A external power source. 1.2A to the Pineapple is adequate. I have a Cruzer, Alfa wifi, and VirginMobile U600 modem all connected to it and running with no issues at all. I never had to plug everything in after the pineapple boots.
  6. Looks like you might have a kernel issue with networkmanager. Did you try uninstalling Network Manager and do a reinstall? Before reinstalling check for lastest from repo opkg update networkmanager -d usb (assuming you have it installed on a usb drive) .
  7. it adds all the tools needed into one GUI. I am struggling trying to get aircrack-ng options to display in the GUI as well. I saw it appear once but after a reboot its missing again. Ill update if I figure anything out.
  8. Oh ok. For some odd reason, I got xxxxxx.so not found errors unless I manually execute those commands before installation. Maybe needed a reboot? It sure is nice to free root space and add move the bulky stuff to usb. thanks for the tips man.
  9. of course after fiddling with it i got BlueZ to install on usb. I added a -d usb switch to opkg command also had to do one of these numbers to map root@Pineapple:/# export USB=/usb root@Pineapple:/# export PATH=$PATH:$USB/usr/bin:$USB/usr/sbin root@Pineapple:/# export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$USB/lib:$USB/usr/lib
  10. do you have multiple instances of wpa_supplicant in the Process list?
  11. You can use the UWUI module in the pineapple bar http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soEK02iVqy8
  12. I have myself an AIRcable Host XR3 Bluetooth plugged into the Mark IV Pineapple, drivers are loading fine. Now I am trying to get bluetooth protocol support by installing BlueZ like this opkg install kmod-bluetooth bluez-utils But I do not have enuf room to install it :-( root@Pineapple:/# opkg install kmod-bluetooth bluez-utils Unknown package 'kmod-bluetooth'. 13. OK, if you can connect and pull data, the driver must be reading your device. I noticed in the log my modem will disconnect occasionally, but it reconnects right away. How strong the your signal in your location? regarding your question abt the config file, what I did was: SSH into /etc/usb_modeswitch.d directory. You will see some 1fac:xxxx files. Copy one of those files, edit it by clearing all contents and paste this in # Franklin Wireless U600 DefaultVendor= 0x1fac DefaultProduct=0x0150 TargetVendor= 0x1fac TargetProduct= 0x0151 MessageContent="555342431234567824000000800108df200000000000000000000000000000" Save as 1fac:0150 and upload to /etc/usb_modeswitch.d, then reboot. Paste your log after a few disconnects here if your still having issues.
  14. ibrokeit, to get 4G Wimax to work, it requires installing a separate driver for the 4G chipset. I believe 4G on u600 has the Beceem BCSM250 chipset. There is a similar post installing on beecem wimax on ubuntu/mint I'm going to try out.
  15. Can you please stop pestering users to use spoiler tags. Its very annoying.
