  1. For the record. Huge improvements on my end. Kudos to Seb and the folks working on this.
  2. When charging the Pineapple Juice 12800 should the power switch be on or off? also, any ideas on time to fully charge?
  3. Use IPad and Xoom interchangeably. No real issues with either.
  4. Well, the swap doesn't really seem help much. I wonder if i am using correctly. I set up per the post from Darren, I am assuming that is correct. Current Memory Usage: total used free shared buffers Mem: 29340 27900 1440 0 1732 -/+ buffers: 26168 3172 Swap: 2097148 1792 2095356 With 2 Gig of swap it is only using 1.8 Mb. Not alleviating much of the load I am afraid.
  5. Pardon my question, but why not just blacklist the "open wifi", then by default the one you really want will be whitelisted?
  6. Thanks for the tip. swap is correct: root@Pineapple:~# cat /proc/swaps Filename Type Size Used Priority /dev/sda2 partition 2097148 1832 -1 Took a look, and it seems as though there is plenty of swap available, but it is not using much of it, but is pounding the ram. Current Memory Usage: total used free shared buffers Mem: 29340 27900 1440 0 1732 -/+ buffers: 26168 3172 Swap: 2097148 1792 2095356
  7. It appears to be a bad cable from the log file. People recommend powered USB at 5v, I use a non-powered hub I got for free at a conference. I am not sure the power matters all that much as I also have a powered hub and notice no difference. Either way, I would borrow or buy another one and give it a shot.
  8. I had the same issue with 2.8.1 though. got to be something using the memory other than OS........time to hit the log files.
  9. No worries. That is just a warning that it uses memory, so you do not want to hit refresh every 2 seconds.
  10. When using winSCP be sure you are using the correct port number for the connection. The default one is not correct for the pineapple. The ip numbe of the pineapple interface is 172.16.42.1. The other interfaces can be obtained by SSH into the pineapple and doing an ifconfig. On the ports that you are interested in.
  11. If rebooting does not help. I would definitely reflash. Before you do this. Make sure you have USB storage setup as it is a necessity for sslstrip
  12. you need to enable wifi sharing on the internet facing connection. so, ie sharing on the wifi, then the 172.16.42.42 on the wired etherenet. then you should be all set.
  13. Just like foxtrot said. once the pineapple is running you should see another wireless - called pineapple with some numbers after it. connect to that and run the graphic interface or ssh, etc.
  14. The pineapple consistently reboots itself. I am using 3.0.0 although had the same problem with 2.8. I am fairly confident it is running out of internal memory. In my test environment there is only one connection to it and I have plenty of swap space, but my internal memory is very low. Each time I reset the pinapple, the first run of sslstrip will cause a reboot Any Pineapple bar updates drop the memory dramatically and reboot Running Karma and any other infusion - will in time cause a reboot Is there a memory leak, or is there anything that can be done to reduce the load on that memory?
  15. I am having the identical problem as makfor49. I am using 3.0.0 although had the same problem with 2.8. I am fairly confident it is running out of memory. In my test environment there is only one connection to it and I have plenty of swap space, but my internal memory is very low. Is there anything that can be done to reduce the load on that memory?
  16. I have been successful running it over wifi. Sure, it is not super secure (may be another pineapple out there), but I avoid cables and I fell the risk is minimal.
  17. If you can get in, you did not brick it. Thats the good news. the bad news is that without more info, it is hard to give you much of a hand. Be sure you have set up a flash drive with swap partitions as it will run out of space without it. also, how are you connecting (ethernet cable or wifi)? this may make a difference when you try to share internet, depending on the port you may be plugged into. finally, not sure what you mean by can't use gui. does this mean it does not fuction, or it fails in some way? sorry I can not help more.......yet
  18. How are you connected to the WP. You will need 2 connections for the initial configuration: 1 for the Internet and 1 for the connection to the pineapple once set up, you can use the wifi from WLAN0 for the connection to the WP and the other (WLAN1) for the internet connection thanks to WhistleMaster
  19. "The suspense is terrible......I hope it will last"
  20. Ok, looking for a bit of help with the last piece. I can get connected - dhcp gives me an address on wlan1 (other wireless can get out from the wireless network) I set it to pass wlan1 to wlan0 - no connection also tried to pass to br-lan and lo also nothing I try to ping ip number - all ok try to ping name - no dice seems to be a DNS issue is there a setting I am missing? any ideas?
  21. OK, Update. It simply will not work with the ALFA 051NH. Powered Hub or not. I did grab a cheap Linksys usb ethernet adapter, plugged in and BAM. works like a charm. Incidentally. tried it both in 3.0 and 2.81. Seems a bit more stable inh 2.81, but my guess is that it is my bias. Love the ALFA for all my other pentesting with laptop and KALI Linux. just not with the wifimanager infusion. thanks wistlemaster. works great with the Linksys
  22. Sorry, I forgot to mention that. I was using powered hub. all parts were plugged into the wall. no battery at all. all the pieces are there and visible until i hit apply. Is the ALFA the issue?
  23. OK, after trying everything I can think of, I am pleading for a bit of help. I have the latest version of wifimanager, upgraded to the latest firmware for the pinapple (very cool), but still can not get it to assign an address to the second wireless interface (WLan1). I am using an ALPHA AWUS051NH for the adapter. I have plugged into wall power, so I do not think it is power related. The interfaces are seen fine, i can save the config, but when I apply it "thinks about it" for a few moments and returns the interface as disabled. I can reneable, but then can not get DHCP. any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance.
  24. I am having a similar issue with the WiFi Manager. Will try this.
  25. I use the Alfa AWUS051NH and it has been very stable in most things.
