Gotta say I'm seeing some of the things that haribag is describing and it doesn't take days it takes minutes... I just updated to 2.4.0 today and I've had nothing but problems. I actually had to unbrick my Mark V for the first time ever... Not cool. I had to reformat the sd card multiple times and try to install infusions multiple times. I would select the sd card for install but only the symlink would show up on the internal... I finally started from scratch and installed every infusion to the sd card and that actually appeared to work. But, then any minimized tiles now won't come back up. I've tried multiple browsers. And even the 36NEH seems to be having issues. Not quite sure what's going on... but until a few updates my pineapple is shelved.

I'm sorry but you're going to need to elaborate on what exactly you're expecting to see and where. Are you expecting something to just show up in Windows10? Is this an internet facing adapter on your pineapple? Is this an internet facing adapter on your Windows10 machine? Need more details to figure out what you're trying to do...

While you can use other browsers, and they do work, there can be funny things that happen. I think Chrome is the "supported" browser.
If you can, I would suggest you get a larger Class 10 microSD card for your pineapple. The one that came with is a Class 4, I think, and you will notice a difference in upgrading to the Class 10.
Over the air updates have worked every time for me so I can't recommend going the harder route...
And, what's this about your channel making it 5ghz? The channel on the Pineapple? On your home router makes sense if that's the one you were trying to "see" with your pineapple but it couldn't find it because a MKV can't see 5ghz networks.
And I assume you're talking about using an external battery like a Pineapple Juice pack with your MKV...

sud0nick is on to something there. You might try flushing your browser cache and isn't Chrome the right browser? Also, what kind of SD card are you using? Size and Class?

Yep, just doing something slightly different... I'm just glad it was that easy for you and not some crazy baked in issue with only your pineapple. I assume that the install scripts for the infusions are taking care of the permissions you had to adjust manually as I've not read of anyone having problems installing.

I responded yesterday to your other post... I know that suggesting using another browser shouldn't make a difference but I'm pretty sure Chrome is the one supported by the Pineapple. Don't get me wrong the others work but I've had funky issues with Safari and others. Also, what I suggested is that you give us a step by step or video of what it is you're doing including setting up your connections to and from the Pineapple... You've managed manual installs of the infusions so that tells me you're no noob but you might be doing something in a way we're not used to. Up to you.

First off try using Chrome... Secondly, give us a step by step of what you're doing. Typing, screenshots, video would probably be better. Up to you but folks here might be able to help with a little more info. You sound like you know what you're doing but you might be doing it differently than what we expect.

Relax Rkiver... I use my pineapple on Hotel wifi all the time. It's not an issue unless you start doing something you shouldn't on someone else's network.
bace1978: Just connect to your pineapple via Ethernet or wlan0, and use the Client Mode tab to have wlan1 (or wlan2 if you have another adapter plugged in via usb) connect to the hotel's wifi. You do all this through the management page for the pineapple. When you have the Client Mode connected and you have an IP address either a popup will happen that gives you their login page/captive portal or open another tab in your browser and try to go to a known webpage. Attempting to go to a page is sometimes used to trigger their captive portal. If you have issue try different browsers. I've had some that trigger in Chrome but not in Safari and the reverse has happened as well. Once you enter the username and password it will authenticate the Pineapple and allow traffic through to the network. Once that happens any device that accesses the Pineapples broadcasted Access Point will gain access through to their network due to the network bridge in place (br-lan).
In fact if the hotel access point (or any access point) just requires characters to be typed in to forms but not usernames/passwords you might try the infusion Portalauth. It's actually a pretty slick program that will sense a captive portal, allow you to clone it, or attempt to auto authenticate. Very handy.

Odds are the firmware update is so new that the author is still updating their infusions... Find it's support thread and ask there.

Your phone is connecting to the Pineapple but does it get access to the network or the internet through it?

An accu is? Try a battery pack like the pineapple juice or Anker. You'll need the USB to barrel cable. Or try the power supply from a Mark 4( or other with compatible specs) if you have one. If none of those work you probably fried it dead. You'll have to buy a new one.

An excellent rundown by Chris. One minor clarification though. wlan0 is not "only" for victims. You can use it as a real Access Point if you like or even connect to it yourself to get to the pineapples management page. Even when Karma is running this is possible. I don't want you or others to believe that interface is useless for other purposes...

Got my NEH in the mail yesterday and had to try it out but a few things happened along the way.
1. Plugged it in powered on, my wlan1 auto connected to my home router as before so updated all infusions.
2. Attempted to change Client Mode over to wlan2 but it wouldn't work so rebooted.
3. Pineapple came up, but my sdcard infusions were missing. Bar says they're installed but no bytes... Unplugged then pushed SD card in and out a few times then Rebooted
4. Pineapple came up, Infusions are all back
5. Try Client Mode again, wlan2 tries to connect but fails, Remember that wlan2 should be disabled so go to WiFi Manager and check status.
6. Enable wlan2 set settings below in WiFi Manager, hit request DHCP, no luck. Went to Client Mode tab tired there, no luck, went back to WiFi Manager and wlan2 is disabled again.
7. Notice that there is another config for another Alfa I've used in the past so Remove/Save/Commit for both Alphas. Reboot.
8. WiFi Manager has wlan2 again, enabled it then configured settings, then Save/Commit,
9. At this point I can't remember if I went to the Client Mode tab and tried connecting there or If I hit request DHCP in WiFi manager before I did that. But either way when I got back to the WiFi Manager I had an IP address from my router and it was working.

In that configuration isn't wlan1 disabled on purpose for the PineAP to work? Maybe it puts it in monitor mode so needs to be disabled in order to work...

My laptop doesn't have a Ethernet port so I can't plug the Pineapple into my router. I can log into the Pineapple via Wifi and turn on Wlan1 and connected wlan1 to my wifi router but my laptop running windows 7 loses internet connection. Internet on my Pineapple works fine.
Anyone know what I can do to get internet working on my laptop? Does it have something to do with IP Routing table? I'm not familiar with that.

Your first sentence is not logical and your second and third contradict each other.... What does your laptop having no ethernet port have to do with plugging your Pineapple into your router? The Pineapple has an ethernet port. Use one cable between router and Pineapple.... It's going to need to be setup correctly but there is another post on this forum that tells you how. If your laptop is connected to wlan0 on the pineapple and you go to the management page and turn on Client Mode via wlan1 and connect it to your home Access Point, your laptop should then be able to get right out to the internet. No changes needed. wlan0 and wlan1 are bridged together with br-lan.

if the issue persists i would say the card is going bad thats what mine did as well replaced it and it works beautifully now

Different power supplies having no bearing on SD flakiness condition. I'm now leaning towards bad SD slot. It basically reads sometimes, other times does not. Removing/re-installing SD card may or may not help. When card doesn't read, any infusions on it are listed as installed, with no size. If you physically manipulate the card repeatedly, it eventually reads for a while then falls off.Again, happening with two cards, both decent Class 10s. I think the upgrade to 2.0.3 was just coincidental to discovering SD slot problem.
I could downgrade as one last "to try", but it's feeling really like a hardware problem after the last testing.
If you have the time/patience, I think Darren is correct that a downgrade to 1.4 might be a last option. If it goes back to being stable that may help them track down a hardware/software change that is causing the instability.

That would work but I didn't mention using the Ethernet cable... I said connect your laptop to the pineapples Access Point and try browsing to get the splash page. The wireless LANs wlan0 (Access Point) and wlan1 (Client Mode) are bridged (br-lan).

If it was a code bug wouldn't others using the same hardware and firmware see it?? That being said, are you going into the Resources tab and formatting it there with the supplied command? It creates the partition and the swap space at the same time... What I would do, assuming you haven't tried it, do that then reboot and check the resources Tab again to see the swap space is in use. Use a few of the onboard infusions or install to the internal... Reboot a few more times after using those and see if it works like it should. If that is successful and the sd card stays viable with the swap, try installing infusions to the sd card and test/reboot again. Also, what power source are you using? Try a different one to rule that out after doing the other steps above. Let us know what happens...

You do realize he had this issue on a the previous firmware? (And it may have been a hardware issue where he had his Pineapple replaced by the HakShop. I'm not sure....) Can you please confirm what version of firmware you are on mbb373? And add any other details that could help characterize the problem...

Yes it does still work but not with all. Several hotel and airports have not worked recently for me. I tried several different browsers and they all threw the same error. Next time I have the opportunity I'll take a screen shot.

A short update: I worked with my Pineapple the other night and got everything installed. I powered it from it's supplied adapter, I formatted the SD card using the internal page, I then did a factory reset and then finally, one at a time installed each infusion one at a time. Then I installed all of their dependencies. This was done over wifi exclusively. None of the installers had issues like a few weeks earlier. All of them installed without issue as did their dependancies. Not sure what actually changed but my Mrk5 appears to be back to it's regular top notch performance.
