  1. It's not the size. The pineapple juice doesn't put out as much power than the anker, so the flash drive needed to require less energy. If you upgraded the power supply this would be a non issue.
  2. Yeah, that's what I'm going to grab as well. Although we really wouldn't need a switchable device. Just get a 12v battery with a voltage regulator attached. You can get those on Amazon for cheaper and they have the same barrel connector that the pineapple uses
  3. Well, my "full load" was ettercap and sslstrip. Works fine when on A/C, reboots on pineapple juice. I agree with MR. Protocol that it really needs more than 5 volts to function properly.
  4. WM, Might I ask what your exact install process is? I'm trying to write a script for the pineapple and, as listed above, simply installing sslstrip causes problems. I tried digging through your code but I am not familiar enough with PHP and was unable to find it
  5. Received my drive as well and after reading about your problems I started doing my own tests. I started by using the drive as received and followed the same formatting procedure as explained by Darren Kitchen. Drive worked as expected. I then removed the case and when I did that the LED pigtail ripped off. So I plugged in the drive and tested again and it stopped working. However, I did see the USB light on the pineapple blink on and off really fast. I noticed that the drive also seemed much looser than before. So I took the case and hacked off half of it (just behind the plastic piece that held the actual drive in place) and put the case back together. Once I plugged in the drive again it started working flawlessly. So the plastic around the actual connector seems to hold the drive in place so it can make a good connection. I checked it in the travel case and it now fits beautifully and is far easier to plug in and remove. My next step is to test the pineapple under load to make sure the drive remains working Hope this helps others with their new drives EDIT: Under full load it still seems the pineapple juice is not powerful enough and still causes reboot. Just an FYI
  6. If you're not particular the network manager infusion works well
  7. You guys are getting stickers on yours? When I bought mine it looked like a stock alfa AP (which I preferred as I didn't want to easily give away what my device was doing)
  8. More than I was expecting, too! Darren seems genuinely concerned with making right this issue.
  9. Try this first. People have had problems with the retractable ethernet cable that comes with it.
  10. Look up pelican cases. Here's a build a friend of mine did with the Pelican 1050 and later the 1150: http://forums.hak5.org/index.php?/topic/28508-pineapple-pro-case-build/#entry216442
  11. Is the pigtail sturdy enough to leave part of it on as a pull-tab for removal of the drive or is it still easy enough to pull out on its own?
  12. Brave soul posting your cell phone on a public forum. lol now instead of 1k emails you'll be getting 1k calls!
  13. Mad props to you Darren. Thank you for listening to the customers. Is there a channel to report problems like this (something that is affecting a sizable portion of the customer base) that we can use to rectify any further issues that come up? I now see that posting on the forums is not a sufficient way of handling this.
  14. This should help you with the reaver attack: http://forums.hak5.org/index.php?/topic/29610-launch-reaver-from-wps-button/ (The script does not need to be run from the button. You can use it like a normal script) There are issues with reaver and the internal network card. You have to enable and disable pieces in the correct order or it errors out.
  15. Thank you SOOO much for finally addressing this. I am eagerly looking forward to the full report. Kudos to you
  16. I tested with the 2.7.0 through current firmware. Same issue every time. Don't think it was firmware related Also, thanks to everyone looking into it. I had the issue from January (the pineapple was a Christmas present) and to fit everything in the box my wife removed the packaging. So I was unable to return it from the start. After seeing the number of people commenting on it through different threads and seeing no one acknowledging that it was a problem was more frustrating than anything else. Glad to see it's being resolved.
  17. I know this is simple but I cannot seem to find the answer anywhere. I'm trying to connect to a WPA2 network via command line on the pineapple. I have done this countless times in Backtrack but for some reason when I try it on the pineapple I keep getting the following error: Successfully initialized wpa_supplicant wlan0: SME: Trying to authenticate with 00:1e:58:f2:69:73 (SSID='Ours' freq=2462 MHz) wlan0: SME: Authentication request to the driver failed wlan0: SME: Trying to authenticate with 00:1e:58:f2:69:73 (SSID='Ours' freq=2462 MHz) wlan0: SME: Authentication request to the driver failed wlan0: SME: Trying to authenticate with 00:1e:58:f2:69:73 (SSID='Ours' freq=2462 MHz) wlan0: SME: Authentication request to the driver failed wlan0: SME: Trying to authenticate with 00:1e:58:f2:69:73 (SSID='Ours' freq=2462 MHz) wlan0: SME: Authentication request to the driver failed wlan0: SME: Trying to authenticate with 00:1e:58:f2:69:73 (SSID='Ours' freq=2462 MHz) wlan0: SME: Authentication request to the driver failed wlan0: SME: Trying to authenticate with 00:1e:58:f2:69:73 (SSID='Ours' freq=2462 MHz) wlan0: SME: Authentication request to the driver failed wlan0: SME: Trying to authenticate with 00:1e:58:f2:69:73 (SSID='Ours' freq=2462 MHz) wlan0: SME: Authentication request to the driver failed The code that I am using is this: wpa_supplicant -B -D nl80211 -i wlan0 -c /tmp/wpa_config.txt -f /tmp/wpa_debug.txt with the config file looking like this: network={ ssid="Ours" psk="Password" } I have tried using the driver "wext" which worked using the Alfa card 036H on Backtrack, but on the pineapple it does not work. I have searched the forums for "wpa_supplicant" and "Pineapple WPA" and gone through everything that came up and cannot find the problem. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. BTW I also downloaded the networkmanager infusion to see if I could find how it was done in there but I am not proficient in PHP so finding it was a fruitless effort
  18. And yet, from a business standpoint you should ethically tell people that pieces do NOT work together. I even emailed the hakshop after finding this out only to receive the following from Shannon: Sorry to hear about the issue! From what I recall, the USB Battery Pack can indeed supply enough power to power any popular device, be that the Wifi Pineapple, and smartphone, or a USB drive. Please email shop@hak5.org and we'll get you sorted out. Thanks! Shannon This tells me that no one is interested in rectifying this problem as it is all over the forums and countless people are complaining about it after they've already purchased it. So logically or not, it is a well documented problem that no one is doing a thing about. Even a simple warning on the store would be enough to alert people before they make the purchase (which I have suggested before) EDIT: Oh, and nowhere on either the holiday bundle or the pineapple itself does it specify that it is rated for 12v.
  19. Welcome to one of the biggest complaints. And yet they STILL won't let people know on the store that they do not work together.
  20. Shadowblade and I tried to write a few tools that would be a bit intensive on the Pineapple. Both scripts were tested on the (Pi)neapple and worked well. Also interested on what others have done http://forums.hak5.org/index.php?/topic/28677-hax0rbl0x-tool-set-updated-4212013/?hl=hax0rbl0x
  21. Older versions had an md5 checksum error. You have to update manually
  22. http://forums.hak5.org/index.php?/topic/28275-cannot-upgrade-md5sum-does-not-match/?hl=%2Bmd5+%2Bchecksum+%2Berror Post number 3. Transfer the update to the /tmp directory. You'll have plenty of room
  23. Not sure how to do it via screen, but have you thought about taking the command you're using in the WPS button script and having it redirect the output to a file you can then tail later?
