1. I seem to be having some issues with internet connection sharing on my Mac which I have Ubuntu 12.04 running on a separate partition. I went through the initial set up as shown in the small booklet I received with the Mark 4. By the way, the firmware on the Pineapple Mark 4 is 2.4.1 I ran the ifconfig command in the terminal, and I got back eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 3c:07:54:11:8b:dd UP BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:3200 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:4745 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:1128146 (1.1 MB) TX bytes:435916 (435.9 KB) Interrupt:16 lo Link encap:Local Loopback inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0 inet6 addr: ::1/128 Scope:Host UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1 RX packets:2235 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:2235 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:200353 (200.3 KB) TX bytes:200353 (200.3 KB) wlan0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 28:cf:da:dc:a2:30 inet addr:192.168.1.112 Bcast:192.168.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 inet6 addr: 2002:43af:4031:0:cd65:c385:187f:b508/64 Scope:Global inet6 addr: 2002:43af:4031:0:bc3a:75de:dd04:335f/64 Scope:Global inet6 addr: 2002:43af:4031:0:2acf:daff:fedc:a230/64 Scope:Global inet6 addr: fe80::2acf:daff:fedc:a230/64 Scope:Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:8437 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:6782 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:5189770 (5.1 MB) TX bytes:1143572 (1.1 MB)
I also ran the iwconfig command and got back this.
After I downloaded the quick connect script with the commands shown in the booklet
wget wifipineapple.com/wp4.sh chmod +x wp4.sh
I then connected the pineapple via ethernet to the laptop and ran the code
sudo ./wp4.sh
Now I don't know if I went wrong here because I left mostly everything default except for my internet gateway. Was I suppose to change anything else?
The wifi pineapple access point showed up on my android so I connected, but I am not getting an internet connection coming through. I tried connecting to the wifi pinapples access point with another laptop and phone, but I still did not get internet connection through the Wifi Pineapple. The wifi pineapple was connected to my laptop with the ethernet cable when I tried to connect, but like I said I wasn't getting an internet connection. Nor am I getting an internet connection on the laptop the pineapple is connected to. I went to the pineapples web interface, and tried revealing the public internet, but I was getting the message "Error Connecting" same thing when I try to view the modules on the Pineapple Bar, and of course when I try to check for upgrades. So I decided to disconnect the pineapple from the laptop, and just try usb tethering from my android to give the pineapple internet connection. Well I am still not getting any internet connection through to my other devices by connecting to the pineapples access point, but by going to the web interface and trying to reveal the ip I do get a response. It shows the ip of the phone that is providing the internet connection to the pineapple. I don't know what I am doing wrong here any help would be awesome! If I could just get this thing to provide internet connection to other devices then that would be great. Ideally, I would just like to connect the wifi pineapple to internet with a wifi to pc connection. According the the booklet, "with the connection script it's just a matter of choosing the right interfaces" but I am not sure which interfaces I would have to choose, and if I have to change any other default values given during the setup to accomplish this? Well like I said, any help would be nice. Thanks!
