  1. I'm finding that this works without a second adapter for the pineapple. I simply connect via wireless to 172.16.42.1:1471 and it brings up the Pineapple GUI. How else do people control their Pineapple without a cable attached?
  2. I have a laptop running bk5 which I connect to the Mark IV via a cable, as instructed. I then activate the 1st. of 2 wifi cards in the laptop to connect to a wireless access point. This, I presume, is how the Mark IV gets it's internet connectivity. But in terms of having mobility, is it considered okay to have two wifi cards in the laptop, one for the internet access point and the other to replace the cable accessing the Mark IV? If so, is it necessary to black or white list the 2nd. wifi card which is controlling the Mark IV? Thank you.
  3. I'm noticing that when I upgrade to 2.7.0 and run cat /etc/opkg.conf I do not see: dest root / dest ram /tmp lists_dir ext /var/opkg-lists option overlay_root /overlay dest usb /usb but rather see: dest root / dest ram /tmp lists_dir ext /var/opkg-lists option overlay_root /overlay dest usb /home <-----------------------this is new dest usb /usb which should it be? Thanks.
  4. thanks Pirate for the information. Problem is, when I start urlsnarf FROM the module indeed it does start. It also will show it has started from the Status page. In any event, starting it from either place does not work -- no logs being created. I get a file with a log name but no data contained therein. Thank you for your help.
  5. Just did a fresh install 2.7.0 with the latest URL snarf module. here is some weirdness: within the the /usb/data/urlsnarf/log directory there is a soft link to: log -> /usb/data/urlsnarf/log how can there be a soft link to itself?
  6. Hmmm... I removed the module, activated url snarf from the status page and cannot find anything resembling a url snar log in the log tab. I've also noticed this from previous versions -- no place to find the urlsnarf logs. That's why I installed the module. . . because at least it has a tab where one can see the logs. So I'm back to step 1: no place to view the snarf logs
  7. I will try this suggestion. But I have a question: without the module, where would someone see the urlsnarf data? Prior to importing the module I tried running Urlsnarf from the status page -- it would start but I could find nowhere on any of the tabs to actually see the results. Thank you.
  8. I'm noticing with using 2.7.0 and activating Urlsnarf on status page and activating Urls snarf module, and tell the Mark IV to install logs on usb that indeed a file is being created in the usb/data/urlsnarf/log directory but the log directory has permissions set at: 501:20 and the log file has permissions set at root:root It is always empty, I don't see any urls in the module window whilst surfing yet a file is created with a name such as: output_13432453.log it is always empty. Any suggestions on what might be happening here and why this file is always empty and I don't see any urls passing through the module window? Thank you.

  10. Everything works but clients connecting are not showing up in the Karma / Connection Status page. Yes, if I click Generate Detailed Report, but after flashing to 2.7.0, clicking Generate Detailed Report works fine, shows clients, but no entries in the standard front page line entry area. Any ideas? I'm scratching my head here. Thanks.
  11. 2.6.3 says that dsniff is included and I can confirm it is, but only if I run it after ssh'ing into the pineapple and running it from a terminal -- I'm trying to deterime if there is another way to run it remotely like karma, urlsniff, dnsspoof, etc.
  12. Since I do not see a link to dsniff on pineapple control panel I'm assuming the only way to run it in 2.6.3 is to ssh into the pineapple and run it from the command line? Can someone confirm if this is true otherwise how to find dsniff in the pineapple? Thanks.
  13. Well it's good to know I'm not the only one. For a minute there I was starting to think I was crazy.
  14. You mean your time.php script runs automatically without human intervention at startup? Please tell me how to set that up. Thanks!
  15. I'm using 2.6.1. What would be the best way to trouble shoot this? I have internet connectivity -- that is, after starting up the Mark IV and then running wp4.sh from the cable-connected pc - Mark IV. So indeed there is not immediate internet connectivity until that is done. Would that account for it or does a cron job run periodically that goes out and grabs the time? Thank you.
  16. Anyway to make this perform at each restart?
  17. Yes, I see the entry -- but how does one set the time so that it does not have to be set manually at each and every startup or has the Mark IV not gotten there quite yet?
  18. Don't understand what you mean: if you look at the log, you will see when it does, around 60 seconds. cron throughs a time mismatch error Do you mean at 60 seconds the cron runs and produces a time mismatch error? If it produces a time mismatch error how is that correcting the time?
  19. What do you mean: // time adjustment $time_adjustment = 7200; is that seconds? minutes? Could you be a bit clearer how this works? When I run it, it shows PDT time which is off by more than two hours from the time in the East Coast. thank you.
  20. When the pineapple boots up there is no connection to the internet until running, manually, the connection via a cable attached so how can it go out to the internet to grab the time at boot up time?
  21. Read two posts on setting the time. For example, one here, states: in /etc/config/system add the lines: config 'timeserver' list 'server' '0.openwrt.pool.ntp.org' list 'server' '1.openwrt.pool.ntp.org' list 'server' '2.openwrt.pool.ntp.org' list 'server' '3.openwrt.pool.ntp.org' You may also need/want to change line 2 to your local timezone. option 'timezone' 'UTC' Add the command 'date -k' to /etc/rc.local Okay, great. Now are the apostrophes (') supposed to be included? One post shows it as part of the input, the other post excludes some of them. I tried both and still the date on the pineapple is Jan 1, 1970. A clear and concise way of setting the time should be included in this package, as far as I'm concerned. It does get frustrating trying to set so many basic features on the Pineapple. I can understand users giving up in despair. The manual only covers unboxing and then some -- please, guys, try to show us noobs how to get this thing up and running with the basics? It shouldn't be so difficult to try and set the date and time, and if there is some reason why it can't be set, please let us noobs know up front about that. Time and date are critical for penetration testing, as I'm sure everyone is well aware. Thanks!
  22. The advantage of tshark is that you can selectively filter out certain patterns and it has a feature that allows it to overwrite files after a certain number of megabyte have been collected, therefore you never fill up your recording device. It would be great to somehow get a port of it to the pineapple.
