  1. Cheers, will do man. I am a bit confused as to what USB battery to buy for mobile use, i don't know allot about electricity and how it is measured, from what i have read some are saying 5.5v others are saying 12v for the out put etc, i was looking at getting this http://www.amazon.co.uk/X-Mobile-Dual-Port-Universal-Ericsson-Blackberry/dp/B0085IP8C4/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1339585187&sr=8-14 or this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Anker-10000mAh-External-Battery-Charger/dp/B0063AAIRG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1339585187&sr=8-2 but i don't have a clue if it will work or if it will fry my board, can u advise? - Anton

  4. Hey guy's i haven't got the foggiest about power and how it works amps volts, What i have gathered is the the higher the mHa's on these batteries the longer it lasts, i was looking at this @ 10,000 mHa's it seems decent, http://www.amazon.co.uk/Anker-10000mAh-External-Optional-Recorders/dp/B0063AAIRG/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1339525994&sr=8-3 any ideas if it will work with the MKIV? i don't wanna fry my board, have no clue about power. To give you an idea of the power i will be consuming (lol), What i was hoping to do was have 3G and an ALFA AWUS036H hooked up the the USB on the pineapple using a splitter? duno if this would even work, any one tried it?
  5. Hey Lister, You can use the pineapple with most OS's, windows 8 is similar to windows 7, and vista and so on, so most tuts for win7 that you find on the forum or youtube will work with win8. The only reason you really need to connect the pineapple to the computer is for ICS (internet connection sharing, supply's the pineapple with Internets) and to turn of and on elements via the pineapples handy dandy web page :) Hope this helps, i am still waiting on my parts coming to build mine, all of what i have mentioned above is just what i have gotten through reading about the pineapple and stuff, so it might not all be right, but i think it is. - Anton.

    Battlefield 2142

Just wondering if any of you guy's play Battlefield 2142? My soldier name is Anton7, i play when i can. 2142, Probably the best & last true battlefield game. Heard dice were also meant to be bringing out a Battlefield 2143, though it's just speculation, though these in game BF3 ester eggs do look pretty hop full, i mean who just puts 2143 on the side of a box? - Anton
  7. Been playing the BF series on the PC since BF1942, didn't like BF3 at first but it has grown on me. The problem with EA / DICE is they are always wanting peoples money, i already paid extra for BF3 Limited Edition, now it looks like i am going to have to fork out about the same amount of money i paid for the game just to play 1 of the expansions in the premium... :( do you know if they will allow us to buy the expansion packs individually? like b2k? ea and dice always make there buying models foggy... - Anton
  8. Hey man, nice to hear more people from the EU getting involved in this little project, i can't wait until all my parts arrive. I am building my own pineapple using the Hornet-UB, was going to just buy one but the time i might have to wait + customs put me off a bit, but it seems the majorty of people get it fairly quick, considering its coming from the states. - Anton
  9. Thank's again for the reply, really appreciate the info. I just this Clean flash (Serial) guide on the wiki, duno weather to follow this or Mr-Protocol's video, i think they will be simular, though the clean flash serial guide doesn't mention anything about putty. - Anton.
  10. Thank's for the reply, did you use Mr-Protocol's guide to flash your hornet-ub with your usb adapter?
  11. Yea, a public wiki that the community can update would be good, the list of devices and info on the current wiki is pretty limited. And searching through the forums can be hard if you don't know exactly what your looking for lol or how to words your search terms.
  12. This thread should be a sticky, lol, would have saved me allot of time, you guys have just cleared up the very thing that was confusing me. Cheers, - Anton.
  13. Hi WatskeBart, Thanks for the link, i went a head and bought one, for 3 quid, i can't go wrong, i take it you have the Hornet-UB rather than the AP121U, and had to clean flashed it first? is the guides for flashing the boards the same regardless of weather it is a serial port or USB? - Anton
  14. Hey guy's i am from the UK, can any of you recommend or post a link to a UART that i can buy in the UK for clean flashing a MKIV (Hornet-UB)? TIA, Anton.
  15. Long Story Short, Any one in the UK looking for a cheap alternative to the ALFA Offical UART, buy a CP2102 like this, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB-2-0-to-UART-TTL-6Pin-COM-Module-Converter-Adapter-CP2102-Chip-with-Cable-New-/270994336912?pt=UK_Computing_Parallel_Serial_PS_2&hash=item3f18856c90#ht_2124wt_1163 it work's Hi Guys, Today I ordered just about all the parts i need to start building a WiFi pineapple. The board i am using is the Hornet-UB, the only thing i still need to get is the UART adapter in order to clean flash the board. After reading a few threads here on the forum i am a little confused as to what i need to buy. The only thing i have ever flashed is a psp and new bios to my mother board, and the odd 360 drive. So i am pretty new to this, and don't really know what will work with the hornet-UB and what will not, the Hornet-UB only comes with the boot loader on it, no firmware, if this helps. I know that buying this http://www.alfa.com.tw/in/front/bin/ptdetail.phtml?Part=consoleboard&Category=0 would definitely work, but i can only find these in the states, i am in the UK, Scotland, and would like to get it reasonably fast, and preferably buy it in the UK. I noticed on another thread a few people where suggesting the PL2303 USB UART, but i don't know if this even works, only one person has reported it to be working, Darren tried it but had a wiring complication so he can't confirm it. Also heard some guy's from the UK talking about this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MAX232-MAX3232-RS232-TTL-Converter-Cable-3-3v-5v-/221045177850?pt=UK_BOI_Electrical_Components_Supplies_ET&hash=item337751bdfa#ht_2302wt_1341 but again i don't know if it will work or not. I guess were i really am getting confused is, because i have the Hornet-UB, and it comes only with a boot loader and not firmware, do i need to use a COM Serial Adapter or can i use a USB one. Any suggestions for UART's are welcome. Another question i have is regarding 3G & the ALFA AWUS036H. From what i have read so far, would i be right in saying that i can't use 3G in conjunction with my ALFA AWUS036H for mass death as there is only 1 USB port on the Hornet-UB? could i use a usb splitter? would this effect power going to the ALFA?. TIA, - Anton.
