As for the power pack, in hindsight I think I would have gone for the Anker pro power pack with changeable output voltages think its around 10000 mAh, you will find posts on the forum about this.

I went for the dlink hub, after having the same issues with the hak5 powered hub, it arrived today and works a treat, with both the usb storage and the alfa plugged into the hub.
Will now grab a 2nd usb power cable for the pineapple as this will power the hub from my usb port on my newtrent battery, to have both the pineapple and the dlink hub powered from the newtrent batt.

I had a similar issue with this battery, charged up once and plugged it in to papple then died!!
, as I am in the UK was not viable for me to ship it back, so took it apart and found the solder had come away from the switch, re-soldered and bingo works like a charm.
