  1. No unfortunately it's not working for me. I removed wicd and wicd-gtk to make sure those weren't an issue anymore and now I just use wpa_supplicant to connect to my network. The issue is when I plug in the ethernet cable from my pineapple to my laptop it's not even recognized. I can connect fine over WiFi to the pineapple and manage it like that bt i don't have a second wifi card to tether it to.
  2. Thanks for the help Mr-Protocol, I appreciate it.
  3. I killed the process but was unable to use iwconfig to connect to the network. This is the command I used to try to connect to my home network. iwconfig wlan0 essid Network_Name key s:Network_Pass Error for wireless request "Set Encode" (8B2A) : SET failed on device wlan0 ; Invalid argument. But as you can see it failed to set the key and every time I've tried to find another way to do it it's always the same result.
  4. I've recently switched my main OS from Ubuntu 11.10 to Backtrack 5 R2 and I can't seem to use both my ethernet port and my wifi card at the same time. This was not an issue however using Ubuntu and I'm not quite sure why it is using Backtrack when they are very similar. This is part of the output I get using lspci to find my network adapters: 02:00.0 Network controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR928X Wireless Network Adapter (PCI-Express) (rev 01) 03:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet controller (rev 03) If anyone has any suggestion to fix this it would be great so that I can use my pineapple again.
  5. From what I've read this is the command to use for redirecting traffic to sslstrip. iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -p tcp --destination-port 80 -j REDIRECT --to-port 10000 But from what I've tried so far I cannot get this to work. It is not stripping SSL from the connections and just in general not working.
  6. Works like a charm Vulture, you're a real life saver. Now to have some fun and get this up and running.
  7. Thanks for the quick reply, I'll quickly run those and let you know how it goes.
  8. I flashed 2.0.0 and have managed to get everything reconfigured how I had before and have been trying to get sslstrip to work as it is supposed to work now. I installed sslstrip 0.7.1 from opkgmanager and got this error when I tried to run it from cl: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usb/usr/bin/sslstrip", line 27, in <module> from twisted.web import http File "/usb/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/twisted/__init__.py", line 22, in <module> raise ImportError("you need zope.interface installed " ImportError: you need zope.interface installed (http://zope.org/Products/ZopeInterface/) As you can see it wants me to install zope-interface but I checked to see if I needed it and it is already installed on my pineapple. And also I'm not sure if it's giving me an error with twisted-web but I do have it installed. If anyone could help that would be great.
  9. As far as installing sslstrip now, is it just a matter of using opkgmanager and installing it through there?
  10. Oh alright, I get it now, the only thing now is how do I change Site Survey to write to /usb/captures? I looked and I can't seem to find anything about that.
  11. I've looked through the script a bit but I'm still quite confused. How exactly do we work this with Site Survey? I ran the script from an SSH session and it just made a bunch of monitors (mon0-mon9) and then I had to force-quit the session. So either it's a configuration mistake on my part (most likely) or I simply don't know how to utilize this script correctly.
  12. A car battery isn't exactly a subtle way to power the pineapple. That's like replacing a rotary aircraft engine with a jet engine.
  13. Wow I hadn't thought it would work for the pineapple and the additional use of a hub is great. But will a USB hub work for the pineapple? If so, which powered USB hub would you recommend for it? EDIT: Nevermind, I just checked the hakshop and found what I was looking for!
  14. I was looking around for a suitable battery back and I came upon this: Voltaic V60. It is a 16,000mAh/60 Watt Hour battery that has a 5V/2A USB output and a 5.5mm x 2.5mm output (can be converted to 5.5mm x 2.1mm like the pineapple with an optional adapter) that can output 12V/4A, 16V/3.5A, or 19V/3A. Will either the 5V/2A USB power or the 12V/4A output power the pineapple? I've read different posts that say the 5V/2A will power it but not with a USB and others that say it will. As for the 12V/4A I think that, correct me if I'm wrong, it will be too much power and will fry my pineapple. My other option is to build a battery bank using 18650 batteries in a 6S2P configuration which is much cheaper to make but I'm not very good with soldering and wiring hurts my brain and I'd have to figure out how to charge the bank. Any help with this would be great and thanks in advance for any help.
  15. Thanks for the help guys, I finally managed to get the tethering to work. My problem was I misconfigured the Internet Gateway to the default instead of 192.168.1.1 (my router) but after I did that it worked like a charm. This is an amazing tool and I can't wait to fool with it some more.
