I have googled, and googled, and have not gotten a good real program that works to convert a pdf file to a word doc. I need this for my resume, I could cut and paste all day but am hopng to not have to do that, I have even tried some "instant convert" web apps on some sites, they crash my browser or put me on a spam list I think lol can someone please recommend a working program app that will get a PDF and convert it to a MS word doc? Maybe even with a template selection if the conversion is for a job resume? thanks

lol I used to have a BBS I still have the original Wildcat BBS discs & box, but switched to a WWiV system because the ANSi graphics looked more awesome and it was open source. I will have to check that movie out.. thanks btw; I even made a BBS system which uses telnet instead of dail-up using synchronet which was pretty cool imo, so they are still around.. still working on my ANSi graphic skills lol

I recently cleaned out the pc with that air dust spray stuff, so theres not really too much dust in the box, the system has worked perfect for years and the only mod's I really did was upgrade the RAM, HD and graphic card, and that worked well until I moved my computer stuff from FL to NV. I also noticed one of the fan's on the side of the box inside of the clear see threw box stopped working, so I unplugged that fan. Is losing one fan (it is a neon fancy looking type fan, looks like for decoration maybe) could that cause it to keep rebooting? I figured the best thing is to unplug it since the fan was not spinning and using electricity still to glow green to save energy. Checked the cables and stuff and everything seems to be plugged in correctly. I dunno .. I have seen power supply units go out, maybe mine is about to kick the bucket and is warning me? thanks

Funny you mention cigar city in Tampa (also known as Ybor City) the Tampa brewing company or world of beer in westchase is awesome. Yueling is great I have not seen it out here yet in the west. as far as brewing your own beer its not really free. They have stores that have everything you need to brew your own stuff, it may cost a little to get started but the satisfaction of drinking a brew that your made yourself is great (even if it tastes like crap lol). I even got a ghetto jail recipe from a friend to make ghetto hooch lol, 1) fill bottle or plastic bag with juice. 2) throw some bread in there for the yeast. 3) let it sit for about 4 to 7 days depending on how strong you want it to be and add a little sugar to it. I forget the exact recipe but I heard about people making moonshine in faulkenburg and orient aka white lightining or whatever lol have no idea how they do that. There must be a lot of people from FL on here.

I am having hard drive problems also, I tried Hirens boot disk and did a memtest and checked & repaired all the hard drive clusters & sectors I think, but win 7 keeps locking up on that drive, with live OS like BT5 and Ubuntu I had no problems but when I tried to reformat and boot from the win 7 disc to format and reinstall it locks up when it shows the windows logo. Now I changed my hard drive to an older one I have and it seems to be working but sometimes my computer just reboots out of no where, any ideas? btw: Also coould my hard drives have been fried during a long distance moving process? say I had my hard drives on a moving truck traveling from NY to NV, I think the trucks have to goto stops to be weighed and scanned, could the xray of the truck have caused the issue? I also have 2 western digital external usb drives that did not work when I finally got them from the move.. but I threw them in the freezer for about 15 to 20 minutes and that seemed to do the trick to fix them.

I have seen a some interesting sites which offer hacking challenges and such to help learn more about security, pen testing, steg, programming, ect.. and also heard that a lot of times they will reverse hack your computer while you are doing their hacking challenges, or maybe download a application that you are suppose to crack and then it is really a trojan or something, how safe are these sites? or can you recommend a good one? I have heard so far of astalavista, hackthissite, enigmagroup, securityoverride, and a couple others i forget right now.. is there a safe way to do the wargames without the sites admins owning your pc while your trying to do the games? I guess running everything in a VM? but then that is not even safe right? any suggestions or advice? thanks :)

I apologize, I deleted the links between the code. I did not realize that search engines would pick up on stuff between the BBcode [ code ] feature. I deleted all of the stuff I could find on the site which looked spam related, going to go back and do a double check to make sure I got everything. I've got another website which the forums are getting spammed so hard I may have to go into the database to delete all the posts, I've tried banning IP's and all of that but it seems impossible lol, Is there some kind of way to just ban all IP's from Russia and China?

My server got hacked and I found of a bunch of weird files on there, my hosting temp suspended the account because I am thinking I used a free joomla template which had a bad php script in there. I could be wrong though, maybe FTP access? I used to have an OBV/2 board which was based on WWiV, also my own network for packet msgs. I looked at making another one but they seem to be all based on Telnet now. Dial-up is dead.

I was wondering if anybody knew some kind of cheap/affordable device option to record what someone is saying. It will have to have a clear voice recording with the recorder in my pocket while the person is talking, so everything said is recorded for evidence. Preferably the audio recording should last atleast a couple of hours at a time, and be able to transfer easy to PC via usb, sd-card, ect.. any suggestions? I dont have a lot of money. It will need to be clear audio recordings that can be used in court. Any help is appreiciated, thanks

Personally, I have bought and sold on E-bay for many years and have not really had many problems except when buying something that was super cheap made in china and worked for only like a month or two. I have sold on there and had people not pay after they won the bid, what you can do is file the complaint thing with ebay, then ebay will refund you your money spent for listing the item and also give the buyer an unpaid item strike, I think if they get 3 then they are banned from ebay. I would probuly write them first though (only threw ebays msg system) and ask why the payment has not been sent yet. Then you can relist it, buy it now is a great option in which they have to pay you immediately. Always use delivery confirmation, and depending on the item size or price you may want to get it insured or not even offer international sales on it. My overall experience has been great, a couple weeks ago I seen 50 blank dvd's at walmart for like 25$ got them delivered to my home without wasting gas or time waiting in line for only 14$, only thing is you will have to wait a couple days 3 to 5 business days on normal to receive it.

I think if you do not know how to code programming languages in notepad, then check out a windows application called "Kompozer" then you will need Gimp or Photoshop to create & edit images for the site, or you could use a template to make it easier but be careful a lot of templates contain evil code. Also while building the website make sure you use as many SEO things as possible like Key Word placements, Alt image names, Different headers for each pages containing the keywords you want for search engine result.. another good app is Wordpress, I find it better for SEO then Joomla or Drupal CMS, check out "CMS" (Content management systems) for more info, I am pretty sure your webhost has some kind of easy install of a CMS for free, but beware of the free templates for them, I have found some bad codes hidden in pics and all types of stuff.

Hello all, I recently moved to Las Vegas and read on the 2600.org site they have meetings by the University at Barnes & Noble, needless to say there was no meeting there as advertised on their website and magazines. They did not even have any issues of the magazine in stock. I seen they had Defcon in Las Vegas, does anyone know of any type of computer related events that go on here in Vegas? Hackspaces or local meetings to re-up my brain on fun new tech security stuff? thanks
