When you connect the USB cable to the laptop, the phone should ask 'Allow this device to access photos and videos' after you have unlocked it. Does the iPhone5 ask this question when you connect it? Also, try another computer - it may be a problem with the computer and not the iPhone.

Google for diskmgmt.msc - plenty of youTube videos, etc.

You may need to repartition it, use Windows Disk Management (diskmgmt.msc) to look at the drive partitioning and re-partition..

There is a Synergy through USB product. Also look at free alternatives to Synergy which use the network to connect your kbd/mouse to another system http://alternativeto.net/software/synergy/ - e.g. mouse without borders

P.S. You could just use dd to replace the contents of utilman.exe with the contents of a smaller exe file. The system must be able to MBR-boot from a USB flash drive (i.e. not UEFI-only in BIOS and not secure boot enabled). e.g. boot from USB to grub4dos (it can be made to not display any messages) Display BSOD splash screen Detect version of OS and what partitions they are on use dd to overwrite utilman.exe with your exe (size of utilman.exe MUST not be smaller than your exe) reboot to internal hdd

I would boot to a Win8.1 WinPE OS. You can make a USB drive that will boot from a 32-bit or 64-bit system in both MBR or UEFI-mode - see here. Once booted to WinPE, you will have to detect what version of the offline OS is installed (there may be more than one version of Windows on different drives\partitions. Copying files from the USB drive is then easy. Then just reboot and remove the USB stick. Using konboot or passpass can cause problems with the Windows OS (forgets passwords, etc.) so the end user will be able to tell because he is suddenly being asked for certification that he didn't need to enter before.

For systems with more than 4GB do I need the 64-bit scraper.bin? Do you have 64-bit scraper.bin? I can't get it to compile under MinGW. Thanks Steve

Sorry, I won't access those speedy.sh links as they require me to run an exe file and I refuse to do that! There are two YouTube videos (scroll down page) about making .imgPTN files - I suggest you watch them and then use the 'Contact Me' form if you are still having problems. Please give details of what payload file you are using, what the source was, if you tested using QEMU or VBox as well as a real system, exact procedure to reproduce the issue, etc, thanks Steve

There is a .mnu file for the kon-bootFLOPPY.img file. If you use that it will just boot from the internal HDD automatically. FD0-konboot-v2.4.mnu

Easy2Boot now support UEFI multi-booting. You can boot linux or Windows via UEFI using a partition image. Also support UEFI booting of KonBoot and other bootable systems. You can also make an image of any bootable USB stick (e.g. containing a Rufus/WinSetupFromUSB/WinBootic/Unetbootin./YUMI/XBOOT etc. payload) and add it to your Easy2Boot USB drive. Video here

This usually means you have connected a USB 2.0 device to a USB 1.0 port. What speed are the ports and what speed are the devices you are connecting. Uninstall your systems USB drivers and then re-install the correct ones.

You can use RMPrepUSB to format it and make it bootable or install different bootloaders. The website also has over 100 tutorials on bootable USB drives, including Easy2Boot, the new All-in-One USB multiboot solution. With it you can boot nearly anything just by copying over the ISO or payload files. For instance, on the same USB drive you can have: 1. Any number of linux Live CD ISOs (just copy over the ISO files) 2. At least 6 diferent types of linux live CD ISOs can be booted with persistence - all on the same USB drive 3. Any number of Windows Install ISOs 4. By adding Windows XP ISO (unmodified) you can install XP to most SCSI/RAID/AHCI/SATA systems because mass storage driver detection is automatic 5. Add Hirens boot cd and other utility ISOs, WinPE ISOs, memory test bin files, floppy disk images, etc. etc. 6. Change the background, menu headings, position, add menus, etc.

Easy2Boot now supports installing from a vanilla unmodified XP install ISO to AHCI/SCSI/RAID computers (it automatically creates the required F6 floppy disks in memory as virtual disks - there is no need to press F6). Latest version has many enhancements (e.g. automatic menu generation is now in alphabetical order)

If you want to boot from BT5 ISO file with persistence from a grub4dos USB drive - checkout Easy2Boot V1!

Easy2Boot is a collection of grub4dos menus and grub4dos batch files and utilities. You can make a multiboot USB flash drive or USB hard drive (NTFS or FAT32) with the Easy2Boot files just by copying them to a grub4dos bootable USB drive or use the Make_e2B_USB.Drive.cmd automated batch file or linux .sh file. Once you have made the grub4dos USB drive (or added the Easy2Boot files to your existing grub4dos mutilboot drive), all you need to do is just copy over your payload/ISO files. For instance, if you copy over your linux ISOs, Windows (XP, Vista, 7, 8, SVR2K8R2, SVR2012) install ISOs, floppy .IMA image files, .IMG floppy disk image files, Hackintosh .dmg and bootable .bin files to the correct folder, when the USB pen boots it will list your payload files in the grub4dos menu. You can then run any of them. You don't need to run a special utility to add new payload files or remove payload files to/from the USB drive. Also nearly ALL linux ISO will work just by copying over the ISO file - even those linux ISOs that usually need special cheat codes will just work! A list of those that have been tested and just work can be found here. For those few payload files that do not work (e.g. OphCrack), you can also add a .mnu file. The .mnu is simply a grub4dos menu entry text file that is automatically added to the Easy2Boot menu when you boot. For instance, by using a .mnu file together with an ISO file, it is possible to directly boot several linux ISO files each with a separate persistence file and all from the same USB drive (e.g. Puppy Precise, Porteus , PClinux, Fedora, Ylmf, StartOS, BackTrack5). You can also UEFI-boot from most payloads provided you convert them to .imgPTN files (free MPI tool provided) - e.g. boot UEFI linux's, KonBoot, Windows Installers, WinToGo, MemTest86, HP utilities, etc. Different languages supported, very configurable, password protected, multiple wallpapers, true partition hiding, optional monthly PIN number to protect against unauthorised use, etc. Video Demo here You can find the Easy2Boot V1 project on the www.easy2boot.com site.

is grldr actually there? If it boots from the USB drive then it should find it? Try formatting it with RMPrepUSB. Also try testing the USB drive with RMPrepUSB Quick Size Test.

re. making 14 colour images. You may find some useful tips at rmprepusb site here. You can just drag and drop any 640x480 image onto a desktop icon and it will convert it to the correct format - see section SplashImage CONVERSION METHOD 1. Also explains how to use GFXMenu images too. With recent grub4dos versions (chenall 2012) you can just use a large .bmp or bmp.gz file and have hi-res, hi-color backgrounds - no need for 14-colour images!
