  1. ProTip: When someone says "trust me", it's an admission on their part that you absolutely shouldn't.
  2. A win?? Isn't as bad....?? DPI can be as gnarly as it sounds, especially without any standard or boundaries as to what that encompasses and where it can be used. It is used most often to analyze packets at the edge of your network/point of ingress/egress, determine good or bad, and route or block accordingly However, with the right technology and motivation applied, it can be used for other more nefarious purposes, especially by governments or entities under government regulation and control who apply that technology on the backbone. This means that some unelected group of whoevers could potentially have the authority to look at whatever they want in packets AND do with whatever....for instance, gleaning signing keys. This means that they can grab encryption keys and start looking at even encrypted comms, decrypting at will and looking at content, reconstructing sessions, etc, etc, etc. This is definitely not a win. Couple this with the Bluffdale Utah data center the FedGov/NSA is building with OUR TAX DOLLARS...5 ZETABYTES of storage, and they're copying data on EVERYONE, INCLUDING US citizens....just storing it all away....AND...the FBI has full access to it. NOW. Google up: NSA whistleblower giant data center The ITU can go f**k itself with the Bluffdale Data Center. Shit just got serious if this goes anywhere...and it will. Carnivore, anyone? Eschelon, anyone? Those were the commodore 64s of what's to come...and I don't mean "kitchy and cool". Some food for thought: http://www.guardian....tutional-rights http://www.ijreview....-all-americans/ Do some research and watch this crap unfold...it's definitely not a win, and definitely not good.
  3. mmmm...man,the good ol' days!! Redbox, Bluebox, ToneLoc for the PBXs....glad to see some old skewlers here! Sounds like you got an ol' fashioned pwnin' behind the woodshed. My recommendation? Cry uncle. Mend your fences, hat in hand, show the guy some additional respect, and once you've sufficiently grovelled and eaten a large helping of humble pie, take him to dinner (a nice one, not the fuckin' Sizzler), and have him show you what he knows. You have an opportunity to have someone who obviously knows WTF they're doing show you the ropes. It's what you want, no? Why not turn some social engineering into a positive and befriend this guy again. Also, unless you're living in some isolated analog-based hamlet in a cave somewhere, I'm going to go with good old social engineering on this one, which as many (including myself) who know, will tell you that's as an important part of phreaking as any technical knowledge. Turn your lemons into lemonade. You got your ass handed to you, now: - Cry uncle - Show this guy some respect - Refriend - Acquire knowledge - ?????? - Profit Let us know how it turns out! :)
  4. that is a pretty sweet interface. :) And I do believe that's Down by Law we're listening to, a fine, yet somewhat obscure selection for sure! :)
  5. I LOVE my Anker 10000mAh battery...the one with the selectable 9v/12v output. - Anker goes into MKIV with the barrel connecter, Anker set to 12v - hakshop powered usb hub goes into pineapple (the red connector doesn't get used in my setup, so the hub isn't "powered" per se) - USB sandisk goes into hub - mini-usb connector on hub goes into AWUS036H and it all works perfectly, and I don't have to worry about back feeding power, etc.
  6. The "H" model is 100% compatible. I use it often as wlan1. I have a few of both the H and the NH, but haven't used the NH on the MKIV yet...no need yet, and I believe a few were having issues with it.
  7. There are a few disturbing notions in there, especially Ms. Wolf's assertion that its Brocious' fault that she got robbed. I get she's pissed, but that seems to be the knee jerk reaction to "hackers" in this day and age, and most of us know nothing could be further from the truth. Brocious did the industry a favor by exposing the weakness. He's not obligated to do anything with that information, and he's certainly entitled to make money off of his findings if he so chooses...that's capitalism, baby! ;) And how cool is Brocious for a surname? It sounds like an adjective...an awesome adjective. Brocious (BRO'-shuss) adj. 1. To be a bro. "Darren picking up that last round of drinks was very brocious." 2. Expression of thanks or admiration for someone who was a bro. "Brocious, man, thanks for the drinks!" Hell man, if my last name was Brocious, that's what Id change my name to; Brocious....like McLovin, only more legit. But I digress....good story, I figured thered be a headline soon after I saw his presentation. Sho' 'nuff, like clockwork, the sun rising, and taxes. ;)
  8. I love you, man. You keep hacking all the things, I'll keep buying all the gadgets, and we'll both keep drinking all the booze. :)
  9. Man, I always feel like I'm one step behind. :) Thanks WM for this (and all the others!) module, and the kick in the pants to get skwelin' on BeEF. Looks to be a perfect fit to roll this into the Pineapple...fantastic idea, and if anyone can make this happen, it'll be our resident module guru WM. :) Off to have some fun learning about and playing with BeEF!!!
  10. Weighing in. I used a CC to make a purchase from hakshop 2-3 days ago and it worked fine, product's shipped, all went well. You may try clearing ALL your cache in your web browser...cookies, temp, etc...and then try again...or for that matter, maybe just try a different browser to see if that may be the issue. I've seen stranger things happen. On another note, bummed that there's no more PayPal option. Don't want to hijack the thread though. :) good luck saeed!
  11. Heya peterfm, Does that mean that your original Gone Phishing module project idea is DOA? I thought the difference between a "walled garden" approach like this and what you'd described was that Gone Phishing would be more transparent in that it would still allow Internet access (if provided) and that there was no "walled garden" approach, just redirection to the appropriate "phishing" pages, otherwise it would let the mark through to wherever? I'd still love to see a more dns-integrated, selective approach like that if it's possible. It'd be great to have the two options as in certain cases, the "walled garden" isn't practical and would cause a reasonably astute user to question why their favorite WiFi spot is suddenly locked down. Dont' get me wrong, I love this idea of "walled garden" and into the bag of tricks it goes! I just read your notion about calling *this* module "Gone Phishing" and paused to wonder if that original idea met a roadblock in some form or another. Wish I was more adept at helping code some of these modules...I feel a bit parasitic sometimes on these modules but I'm eternally grateful for all the great work you all do developing these modules for the rest of us! ;)
  12. VERY cool, thanks for the efforts, can't wait to try it out! This is PERFECT for using my spare MK4's...drop it with a battery and pick 'er up later! With no wifi card and no access, the power should last and last! :) Thanks again to all of you who make this project such an awesome success!
  13. I hope that Darren or whomever will update the pineapple book. Posted in the pineapple book thread a about a week ago that it needs an update with the required port for accessing the web ui. I figure noobz are using the book, but it needs an update badly to update this, or I fear well be seeing a lot more of these, or in the worst case, folks mucking about and bricking their MKIV to try to self-resolve. Glad the above fellow was able to re flash before it shit the bed. ;)
  14. MKIV == 82.5g Anker 8400mAH w (1) .5A and (1) 2A output == 295.5g Anker 10000 mAH w (2) USB and an adjustable 9/12A output == 297.5g Retractable CAT5 (hakshop) == 24.5g Antenna == 13g Powered USB hub (hakshop) w/ SanDisk 4g USB drive == 54.5g Alfa AWUS036H == 35g Alfa AWUS036NHA == 39g Hope that helped!
  15. I found my happy spot using an Anker 10000mAh MultiVoltage battery (http://www.amazon.co...duct/B005NGKR54) and setup as follows: - Battery, set to 12v, use barrel connector w/DC output. - HakShop powered hub into the MKIV (red powered part not connected to anything) - SanDisk 4GB plugged into one of the USB ports on the USB hub - Alfa WiFi (from HakShop) plugged into the miniUSB on the USB hub This works reliably for me, and gives me hours and hours of power for all devices, which are powered directly through the MKIV via the Anker battery. I'm not using the "powered" part of the HakShop powered USB hub, just using it on whole as a passive hub. I never plug the red plug into anything. Everything stays nice and cool, and it runs perfectly. I can fire up the external Alfa at will via the interfaces on the MKIV depending on what I'm doing. the MKIV sees all the devices correctly on boot/reboot.
  16. This is me at the beach. It was a little cloudy and cool, but we still had fun.
  17. Just posted a reminder in the WiFi Book thread....part of the issue may be that the book still references the old "172.16.42.1/pineapple" reference. And indeed, Barry's onto something there. ;)
  18. Just a heads-up: Pages 17 and 19 of the purely awesome WiFi Pineapple Book still contain references to "pointing your browser to http://172.16.42.1/pineapple" These references should probably be updated to: "...point your browser to http://172.16.42.1:1471" I noticed it the other day and meant to post. Happened to see a related post just now and it sparked my recall. :) Thanks Darren and company! You keep hacking all the things, I'll keep drinking all the booze! :)
  19. AWESOME!! I'm gonna have to pass out glowsticks and pacifiers at the next Starbucks I happen upon. :) :) :) "The Innernet is not...the innernet is not... a big truck..." Upgrading as soon as I get home tonight, thanks to the both of ya! :)
  20. ROFL! I did that, and it cached it! > "Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page?" > click OK > RICK TRAP RESETS!! I actually lauged out loud for real..there was no getting out of the Rick Trap without rebooting the Android. Doomed to an eternity of lyrics...one. line. at. a. time. for... ever......muahahahaha! :) evil brilliance! :)
  21. "...patience Mr. Bigglesworth..." :) I can't WAIT to see what you guys are cooking up!! Sounds brilliant!!!
  22. ahahha! Oh man, just now got around to updating my MKIV to 2.7, and re-loaded everything from scratch. RandomRoll was the first thing I had to get going because I'm just in that kinda mood. Tested out on my karma'd Android. >dat install process >dat selectable interface >dat Rick Trap!!1!!11!one!! Rick Trap is BRUTAL!! I had to reboot my f(*&ing phone to get that smooth sexy bastard to go away! Absolutely brutal! ;) I love you guys so much. :)
