  1. Glorious!!  Installing updates Reaver and bully tomorrow, this goes on immediately after!

Absolutely gorgeous, love dark themes.  Man I sure hope one of you brilliant bastards (and I mean that with all due respect!!) can someday write a module to switch these themes up in the gui, but I'm all over this one regardless and can't wait to get it installed!!

Thanks kbeflo, really nice work with the installation instructions and everything!!

  2. Drooooooool......Must.......have.............dark theeeeeme......

I LOVE the screenshots, and a reverse would be a dream!!!   The current bright white looks clean but is so f'n bright.

A module to change some themes would be a really nice and welcome module, hope you can pull it together, this is a great idea, thanks!

  3. Whoops!!! Sec research team uncovers one of NSAs new functionality gems on Apple iOS.

    PRISM.

What was that last "bit" of the NSA that went public....a sweet little backdoor in iOS that allowed NSA to install persistent anycode on an iOS system? Jeep or some shit?

The NSA wet dream is to be able to shut down gatherings they, uhh, don't agree with, en masse, completely disable the ability for anyone to communicate real time, to take pictures/videos, redirect efforts, issue warnings, etc. This "bug" has it all. Crash, freeze, reboot, repeat.

I don't believe for a single second this was a flaw. This was our tax dollars hard at work in the backrooms of corporate IT delivering for the NSA and LEOs, whom I bet are pissed their little Easter egg ace-in-the-hole was found so readily and is now being dismantled.

NSA No iOS Zone v2.0 coming right up!

    FU NSA.

    Love,

  4. OK...pretty creepy...lifes thrown me a few curves and been away a while. Got a feeling I should check in an BOOM, DarSeb INC. brings the heat with a new f/w release!!!! You were puttin out the energy, cosmic! ;)

Looks fantastic gang, can't wait to update. Am I reading that correctly, I can now provide the inet service via my rooted Android...the same droid I'm going to use to use to admin up to the MKV with? So all I need in the field is the MKV, an external alfa, and my rooted droid with 4g?? No more usb 3g/4g dongle needed!?! THAT is fantastic!!! That is indeed the droid I seek!

Well, I am baked and stoked (a pretty creative place to be actually :)), so before I go have some fun, huge thanks to Darren, Seb, and the whole devcrew. Its like fuckin Christmas every time a new release comes out. So much good stuff every single time!

Also, can I get a link or somn to the community hangout gig on Wed? I'm not a huge fan of google anything anymore, hope its not a googthang. ;)

  5. There is a python based program to brute force bypass captive portals. I can't remember the name however. Perhaps someone here does. Would make for a handy infusion.

PortalSmash is the gem you're referring to. It would indeed make an awesome infusion, I definitely do not have the appropriate skills to do it though, gonna take a Whistlemaster level of awesome for that. :)

We have discussed this issue previously though, and a text based browser on the MKV is certainly a nice option. Seb recommended elinks, and it worked great!

Install it on the MKV via:

Opkg update && opkg install elinks

  6. Getting yelled at regularly for not having 2X+ shirts?? Wow. That made me think of this bit of standup by Denis Leary. Figured he was exaggerating but I guess not. I also read about somewhere in the US they had a hard time finding police recruits that were sufficiently fit to do the job but I figured that would be just a county or some such.

Back when I was at IBM I had to go to some convention to get students to want to intern with us. On the floor, all IBM staff had to wear a logo'd blue-white striped blouse and they basically had 1 size which was fairly decent in width but had a *LOT* of excessive fabric going down the front. Guess most IBM people had a problem with their bellies hanging WELL over the rim of their pants. I had no such issues - I would consider myself fairly normal build - but I still had to find a way to wear this blouse. So my solution was to press the excess into a giant lump and tuck that into my pants at crotch-level...

LOL!! Not kidding one bit! If I had to throw a figure at it I'd say our sales of shirts at shows went up 10%+ when we stocked the 2x,3x,4x sizes. It cost us more for the 3x/4x shirts but we passed it right on to the customers and they bought em all up every time! We loved it because the more people wearing our shirts with the band name/logo, the better! Was great looking out and seeing a sea of people moshing it up wearing our shirts. :). Those big boys made the pit extra fun to watch!

Is that a shirt in your pocket or are you just happy to be here at IBM? ;)

  7. And what about us fatties hmmm? Guess we gotta lose some pounds before we can fit in them i guess? Hard to lose weight when you're always doing busy funny they say you need to be doing stuff to lose weight i do stuff im gaining weight.

I like your candid style, brother! You made me laugh, so I'll jump in with ya! ;)

Yeah, I'm gettin old AND fat too. A 2X may fit on day of arrival, but wash it once and throw it in the back of a drawer because it's over.

Surely the vendor can get 3x and up, even if it costs a few extra bucks a shirt to pass on to the buyer. Darren? How about it? Hell man, when procuring merch for our bands, I HAD to get some 3x and 4x to sell because we got seriously bitched at for not having em, and we lost pretty significant sales by not having em at the merchant tables.

If I were a bettin man, and if what I've seen at 25 years as a performing musician, LAN parties and IT seminars is any indication, I'd put my money on there are more than just me and Zara who are pushin the 3x limits and would pay a few extra bucks to sport some Hak5 gear that fits.

Enjoy your metabolism while you have it! :)

  8. I would stay away from hidemyass if i was you look what happened to Cody Kretsinger. Look for a logless vpn. HMA openly states they keep log files of users traffic. Here is a list to get you started on finding a good vpn. http://torrentfreak.com/which-vpn-services-take-your-anonymity-seriously-2014-edition-140315/ i personally use privateinternetaccess.com i have been with them for about a year and a half now, and only have good things to say about there service.

Dunno about the Cody incident, but that's good solid advice. Checked into it and indeed, they're keeping logs, and for a pretty significant time too....2-3 months:

  9. Just saw this post by RMerlin over on smallnetbuilder that may be related:

    That is just fucking depressing.

    Sooooo sick of these taxdollar-funded alphabet agencies....all of them....so useless....but I digress....

Thanks for the info man. On a positive note, I'm guessing resellers of WiFi Gear in Bolivia's are in for a booming international business very soon. ;)

  10. So I read the above, and the link Yaba provided to the other thread, and I'm afraid I don't understand why wlan0 was locked to 18dbm, and is still locked down.

If it's a US regulation issue, why does wlan1 produce 27dbm?

Seb's comment in the other thread from Dec 2013 threw me for a loop however:

We have the atheros locked right now. We decided to swipe the next firmware unlocked though.

I'm not sure how to process that to be honest.

I'm just a simple guy...maybe Seb or Darren can explain what's going on with the Atheros and the 18dbm lockdown specifically? I'm sure there's a logical and reasonable explanation, but now my curiosity is piqued along with you all.

  11. Ryan-Reynolds-But-Why.gif

In my case, one network is in the 192.168.255.255 subnet, and the other is in 10.255.255.255. There will be no collisions. I'm well aware of how routing tables work, and I'd have no problems working with them if such an issue did come up.

Anecdotally, my home network mask is 192.168.0.255, so even if I were connecting to that and a more common 192.168.1.255, there wouldn't be issues.

  12. Man, it's been ages since I used a text browser, like stepping back in time!!

Very cool though, it's dead simple and easy enough to use to get past a captive portal then move on to the job at hand, GREAT suggestion Seb!!

    <deleted for idiocy>

I've tried a few different SSH clients on Android, the one I settled on was JuiceSSH as it has a really handy popup keyboard extension with all the function keys (arrows, esc, pg dwn/up, Fn, etc). The others I tried were fine for normal use, but brutal to try to navigate elinks with. JuiceSSH worked really well.

Great solution Seb, thanks again for the clever suggestion!!

ETA: it was indeed the terminal emulation setting that was giving me fits. It was set to linux. D'OH! Mucked about with the various settings and xterm256 looks pretty damn nice and readable. Still text, but no more extra weird chars and shitty color schemes. :)

  13. If I understand correctly, the WiFi Pineapple MKV joins the wireless network just fine - it just doesn't allow any internet as there is a captive portal.

To get around this specific type of captive portal, you will need to use something like portalsmash (requires ruby), lynx (browse the captive portal over SSH and accept), or accept the captive portal on one of your devices and change the WiFi Pineapple MKV's MAC to that of your device.

There is nothing faulty about this setup, it's just that you are stuck at a captive portal.

    Best Regards,

    Sebkinne

    Heya Seb,

I LOVE the idea of using lynx on the MKV, honestly I'd completely forgotten about lynx!! Great idea, and if you would't mind, how do we go about getting lynx installed on our MKVs?

    Thanks!

  14. Deauthing "rogue" access points is cool, until you start deauthing the company across the street. In a past life I had to track down rogue access points. My boss said bring it back to him, the owner could come to him for it. I've actually ripped them out of the wall before. Sure I had to come back and fix the jack after hours, but it starts the gossip train rolling. The rogues became less of an issue after that. 90% of the time it was because the person wanted a switch in their room to hook up a couple more computers and the PFY at Fred Meyer's sold them a wifi router to make a little more commision. The other 10% didn't like our filtering of the network. Though they didn't understand we filtered at the gateway, and not at the access points or switches. Don't get me started about the time some ass hat kid figured out they could make all the iMacs wireless base stations....

Excellent use of classic reference, I love you, man! :)

  15. Go snap up one of these, mod a USB end to it, drill a small appropriate pattern of vent holes in the Pelican and attach the fan on the inside, being sure to tap another hole for the fan to draw outside air through/across the MKV.

Power it off of the USB port direct or use a hub if the port is in use with another radio, etc.

I just ordered a few for my Pi's, and an extra for the Pelican case. :)

    Hope this helped!

  16. I don't use Mac gear, however:

    - did you set the gateway on that IP stack to 172.16.42.1?

    - is there either an A/V product or any sort of software firewall running which would prevent that interface from tossing outbound packets on the interface in question?

The image you shared, along with the amber light, both indicate the physical eth0 is up, which is only going to happen if your Mac eth port is also up.

Hope that helps you get to the bottom of it!

    LS,

I started today with teh pineapple mark v.

I managed to startup and connect to the device over the ethernet cable (eth0).

But.... then it frose in the "entropy bunny". I have no idea what that is. Google didn't help.

Restarting the device didn't help. I managed to do a factory reset with the DIP switches. I can come into the device over the WIFI connection, but not over the eth0 cabled connection.

When I put in the ethernet cable, the amber light burns pretty permanently (with an occasional blink). No connection however to the device.

Pinging over the eth0 doesn't help. Pinging over the WIFI is possible.

I can log in and looking at the network information tells me <see attachment>

The device looks working normaly to me except for the eth0 interface.

My Mac is connecting over the thunderbolt ethernet port, ip address 172.16.42.42 255.255.255.0 dns 8.8.8.8.

    I run OSx 10.9.3

Any one an idea how what can be wrong ?

  17. Can I ask which model you have, with the 9/12v barrel outputs? The only ones I can find are USB, which at 5v would presumably be useless for the Pineapple. Thanks!

No worries! I could go look it up, but I think it was the Astro E3 with 9/12v output. Unfortunately Amazon doesn't have it anymore and Anker I believe discod it and rebranded the last of that model to dump the last of em.

Anker has the Gen2 version of these which are 20000mAh as opposed to 14000 which I think these are, but the gen2's are huge and not practical imho.

I did, however, find what will be functionally a perfect replacement though, and its 15000mAh too!

    http://www.amazon.com/RAVPower%C2%AE-15000mAh-Portable-External-Battery/dp/B00DVB7F0S

It's $59 and aside from some aesthetics, provides exactly what my 3 do. The barrel cable for the 9v/12v is perfect, and goes straight into the fruit and battery with no attachments needed.

I use these batteries for all sorts of things, the selectable 9/12output plus 2 USB outs make it a winner. I'm able to use it to charge my Pax on the fly, but that's another story. :) Point is it comes with about any attachment you could want, is about the same size as the MKV. Pair it with a miniVHS case for like $7 on Amazon, and you have a compact nice deployment and storage case for a barebones MKV deploy

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B002DUEBIC

Amazon is out of the cases but another seller there has em for 3.99 and free shipping.

    Good luck brother!
