  1. hfam: I have tried all the same steps that you have with no luck either. I have tried connecting my android phone via karma and through the SSID and still no luck. I also tried changing the DNS server on my LAN connection from 8.8.8.8 to 4.2.2.2 (Verizon iirc) with no luck either. Somewhere there is a problem getting connected clients to from the mk4 to the internet. I didn't make any changes and plugged up my mk3 and had no problem whatsoever. FYI: running Win7 with ICS. I haven't tried 3G yet because that won't be in until tomorrow.
  2. Whether you buy today or not, the kit will be separate item. (from what I understand)(EDIT: I just reread and Darren did state that there will be a bundle eventually) The only thing you would save would be a few dollars in shipping. Then again, if you waited, you wouldn't have gotten the discount, so you are probably better off in the long run anyway.
  3. I have that exact one and it works great on my mk3 and for charging my phone on the go. (My EVO has really crappy battery life) I have been able to charge it about 3 times from anywhere between 5-10% to full. You really should purchase one from the Hakshop. Darren, Seb, Robin, and the rest of the Hak5 crew have put a LOT of work into this tool in their spare time and they can use our support. Darren even gave those of us who are active in the forums a chance to purchase one early and at a discount. Nobody likes a leech...
  4. I'm expecting mine in the morning. I'll test it an see if I have the same problems. Hopefully Darren or Seb can figure this figured out soon if it is a problem with the firmware.
  5. That is a good suggestion telot. Although it would also be nice to find something I can buy w/ cash and buy re-up cards
  6. Ah. I guess I misunderstood what he was saying. I know we can't mount the SD card it would be awesome, but I understand (unlike others it seems) that this was never promised, only stated that it "might" be a possibility. I thought Irongeek said that he could find a SECOND usb drive by volume name.
  7. Where I am, I rarely see 172.x.x.x I've shown some friends who were having wifi problems how to use ipconfig and to look for 192.168.x.x 10.x.x.x and 172.x.x.x but they rarely remember the last. Very true about the facebook thing though. Although, pinterest is another now. ugh... lol.
  8. In your testing w/ the mk4, how much data have you been using a month? Which would be a recommended data plan?
  9. I'm assuming that Rotunda wants to use 192.168.0.x because it looks more like a "regular" IP. A normal user who knows how to run ipconfig (and not much else) would expect to see a 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x IP because that's what almost every consumer router uses.
  10. First off, I'd like to thank Darren, Hak5, and the others who have worked to make this tool as great as it is! I was recently reading about Irongeek's PHUKD tool and he mentioned in a talk that he is able to find a USB drive by its volume name like "MyThumbDrive." Has anyone been able to do something like this with the Ducky? This would be a great "work around" while we wait for the possibility of mounting the Duck as a COM port.
  11. OP: I had a n00b problem because I essentially didn't RTFM. Once you enable ICS in windows 7, you have to go back and manually change the LAN IP even if you had already changed it. Hope this helps... Also, as Mr-Protocol said, give the pineapple a minute or so to fully boot
  12. I got it working! I was able to execute the wallpaper prank payload. I googled around a little and found a website that mentioned to check the system variables path and to add the location to the java bin file if it didn't exist. The path for me was C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin. Once I added it and restarted my command prompt, it worked fine. Not sure if it should have added this and if so, why it didn't, but it's working now! Here is the link just in case anyone else if having or runs into this problem in the future. http://introcs.cs.princeton.edu/java/15inout/windows-cmd.html Thanks again for everyone's help!
  13. Thank you for the help. I had installed java, read through the readme, and watched the video before I posted. I will uninstall and reinstall java and try again. Thanks again.
  14. I can't figure out how to use the duckencoder in windows 7. I have tried using the command prompt and cant get that to work. I keep getting told that "'java' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file." Can someone please direct me to a tutorial or let me know where I'm going wrong? Thanks in advance
