Back on topic. ------- I posted this in another topic but here is two quick mods to make your 360 run much cooler. _______FOIL MOD________________CPU FAN________ The foil mod forces the Air that is being drawn through the duct to flow along the heat sink longer. Don't use too much foil or you can constrict the airflow thus increasing the temperature. --------- On the topic of Xbox rrod repairs there is a new way that is much better than the x clamp called the hybrid fix. This fix reduces the pressure on the motherboard by leveling all of the mobo standoffs and by removing the static tension that the xclamps/xclamp fix produce. EDIT: Here is a mock up of a new design that I might make for my next xbox mod that looks cool and increases airflow!

From the very LITTLE I played it was fun, But I emphasize little because it took me and my friend over 3 hours to get in the same server, and when we were finally in, the server was glitched and it wouldn't populate the other team. After more attempts we finally got in a server with a decent number of people. Then a hacker with green skin joined and insta-killed everyone on our team over and over again. But apart from that it was fun! EDIT: I just found out that it was in early beta when I was playing it so disregard the above.

many games are almost unplayable on standard definition televisions (fallout3 and dead rising have unreadable text for example) Get an xBox 360 VGA adapter and play on your computer monitor. I can't stress enough how important it is to NOT get an off brand version of this cable. I have purchased a few from DE and they all have MAJOR interference problems. (this includes the Intec one) ------------------------ If your system is under warranty DO NOT OPEN IT. Keeping your system in a well ventilated area is better than an after market fan. A Microsoft warranty WILL fix your system while a homebrew fix has a chase for failure. If your counsel is ever opened and dies I dont recommend doing the xclamp fix by yourself. My buddy I have seen some of the most horrid attempts to fix 360's ever. (ie: jamming a hand cut sheet of coper between the GPU and the heat sik thats not flat and without thermal paste on one side.) There are many people on craigs list that will fix your 360 locally, often between $20 and $40. 2 mods that I can recommend if your 360 is already opened is the foil mod and adding a cpu fan. Another tip of you are ever planning on adding extra fans, LED's or cathodes, DON'T DRAW POWER FROM THE DRIVE! This WILL cause your drive to malfunction after time. (burnt motores or damaged drive controller boards.) Finally if you want to customize your 360, don't be lame, be original. You can make a halo or GTA4 case but do something new, not like this. Here is my 360. Only cost me $90.(for everything)

Well I'm finally getting around to building my all in one CMS and the last thing before I begin development is the database structure for the forums. I have several ideas on how save the information but I haven't been able to find any research on the best (AKA: most efficient) way to store forum data in a mySQL database. Thanks for any information.

I am 100% for the new system of unlocking guns. The main problem with the old system of getting guns through achievements was that in order to get the last few they required you to do ridiculous things that often detracted from the overall experience of the players around you. An example is the heavies achievement, kill some one using a taunt while ubered. One of my primary classes is medic and you cant believe how frustrating it is when you finally get uber in the heat of battle, deploy it had have the other player stop shooting and try to "point" some one to death. Generally I stop healing them for the rest of the game or just start assisting the other team in the players demise.

If the IPOD touch can connect to adhoc networks just get a windows mobile phone (like my HTC wizard) and install WMWifiRouter. v.91 is freeware but hard to find (demonoid has a copy up).

Cool program! It probably the most feature similar to grouper. BUT it requires port forwarding. This isn't a problem for me, but I will be using this with people who think port forwarding is putting there thumb drive in the next available slot. From what I can tell so far retro share will work fine. But I'm still open to ideas if some one knows of a better program.

Cool program. The concept behind the program is very intuitive. But after it boots up for the second time it uses 100% of system resources. I'll keep that one bookmarked until windows comes out of beta / they update it. After some searching I found a program called Retro Share. I'll see how it works.

Can anyone vouch for a program that allows two or more computers to have a p2p network. In the past I used a program called Grouper. It was exactly what I wanted but the company went under when too many of it's users were abusing the system, creating large mp3 sharing networks. I have also used Waste, but it's a pain to setup and isn't a true p2p since it requires a server to be running. Any suggestions? ~thanks

You can always walk up to their computer and hold the windows key and begin tapping F1. Thats still my favorite way to mess with people on computers. (only works on XP) Brings back memories of high school.

The Arcade Screen Saver! (or ass for short :D) Screen Saver.html! After about 15-30 minutes of no one playing games on the arcade this wonderful seizure inducing screen saver pops up to entice people to play! Just using a flash to screen saver converter. But I might end up using ZINC instead. Just an FYI got the song from www.keygenmusic.net (I think it was in the show) I picked the song for its amazing ability to be annoying.

I absolutely love Happy Hardcore BUT I think that genre is the hardest of the electronic music to find good tracks of. I've gotten several best of cd's with 100's tracks, maybe only get 2-3 songs that i can truly enjoy. A good recommendation is poke around the Newgrounds audio portal. There is a metric crap ton of horrible music, but hidden beneath it all is a collection of diamonds that have made it to my main electronic/trance play lists.

Hey just a tip. I'm doing this for an arcade cabinet. Games run a little faster, and MAME starts up MUCH faster without having to load explorer. The one problem that I ran into was that if you don't run explorer NONE of the start up programs run. This is good for keeping the start time down, but now there is no way to run MAME. I found that if you place mame (or a linker exe) in the same directory as explorer you can run that instead by entering its name in the registry (replacing Explorer.exe)

I enjoy plausible deniability! Thats why I use WEP! Also if some one wants to steal wireless I know that they will find a way so my key is 1234567890. But in all seriousness the wireless connections are compartmentalized from the rest of the network.
