  1. WPA hashes are salted with the SSID, so a Rainbow Table wouldn't be effective anyway.

iSSH specifically is a fantastic app. It supports SSH (obviously), Telnet, VNC, and RDP. It's also a universal app, so there's an iPad version included. http://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/issh-ssh-vnc-console/id287765826?mt=8
  3. While that's true, certifications aren't designed to teach you everything you need to know about everything, ever; they do, however, try to guarantee a minimum level of knowledge. Studying for certifications through the course material will teach you a lot about whatever it is you're trying to learn. Whether or not you take the test at the end is purely your choice, but HR departments definitely look for them, especially when you don't have years of experience through the industry. I can also vouch for the Cisco certifications; CCNA/CCNP will teach you a lot about how networking. This is all certainly info that you can learn on your own, but it's nice to have a prepared course and curriculum.

IIRC, in Backtrack 4 the networking is stopped when the OS is loaded. You can start the networking by either going into the 'K menu' > Services > Networking > Start, or by loading up a console and typing /etc/init.d/networking start
  5. http://www.tomshardware.com has a really great article every month listing the best graphics card for the money. So for example: http://www.tomshardw...990,2879-4.html is their list of the best graphics cards for the $175 - $300 price range. For the ~$250 range, they list the Radeon HD 6950 1 GB as the best buy. Hopefully that helps!
