  1. Now she's getting the whole enable windows zero config if you disabled it, unless another program managing your connections message... Weird.
  2. So even if the laptop was looking only for it's home SSID to auto-login to, Jasager wouldn't clone that? Or, by disabling zero config, would she need to manually search for local SSIDs, and login to hers?
  3. Thanks so much for the help! One last question... Does the Jasager copy her SSID from her house too, and display it, thus overriding her SSID signal, or does it just display two identical home SSIDs?
  4. Thanks for a quick reply... What will that change, by doing so? Will it allow her to view the WLAN's, and find hers, and still connect ok, but not be attacked by Jasager?
  5. My girlfriend mentioned, while we were at dinner last night, that her laptop started showing all of the networks that she'd ever been on, which immediately made me think that one of her neighbors could perhaps be a fan of Hak5, and could be using Jasager. How can she defend against that, and be able to use her wireless router again without having the neighbor's show her SSID and have it sign in to it instead? Thanks for the help! --Matt mhoganphoto.com
  6. Believe it or not, after everything I tried, I decided to download Ubuntu and boot from it, and then restart, to see if that would fix my problems (just in case linux was in fact powering off my adapter and leaving it that way for some reason), and it works now! Is there any way, for future references, that I can manually power back on my internet adapter, just in case it gets shut off again like it did there in linux, in windows? --Matt
  7. Checked that, and it seems to be enabled. I know too that it's not the cable, because I plugged it into a laptop, and it worked just fine. How could I check this? I'm not really fluent with Linux, as it shows, which might be why I'm having this problem. All I did was run the two cds, and not really mess with the programs much either, I just noticed that while running the first one (knoppix), my computer couldn't connect to the internet. Any ideas? --Matt
  8. After recently attempting to run a few Linux LiveCD's (Ophcrack/Knoppix, just for fun), I noticed that for some reason, while running those, I could no longer connect to my internet connection (wired). After returning to Windows XP, I figured that would fix my connection problems, and low and behold, the problem still existed. It said that my network cable was unplugged, when it in fact wasn't. The weird thing though, was when my Linksys WRT-54G wireless router's "one push easy setup" button started blinking, without me pushing it. After that, I got a notice with WinPatrol that some host file was trying to be changed, but I denied that. After that, I then got a few messages on my firewall saying that my print sharing was trying to access the internet, and that attempts were made to access it from the internet as well, when I don't even have that active... Any ideas to why when I plug up my internet connection now, it no longer shows up? lol --Matt
  9. Thanks for the replies everybody... I've figured out most of what all I asked actually after doing more research, which is usually what it takes lol... The only problem I've faced really so far is the VNC stuff being correct (spektormax has addressed that issue and fixed it), with it not properly opening up the ports that it should. Also, I tried it at my work computer without it being able to work once I got home by using TightVNC, but people in IRC have mentioned that it could perhaps be a problem I'm facing due to a firewall up at work perhaps, who knows though... --Matt
  10. Just did, and put all of my questions into this here post: 1) One more semi-dumb question lol, when the root of the flash drive is referenced to, is that "F: SystemApps", "F: System", or "F: "? 2) And also, once I get all of this working, are there any sites that explain how to make use of every tool that's on there, that's not really discussed much on here, such as the VNC/IP numbers and whatnot? 3-4) Last questions for this here particular response... I have everything installed (I think), and it seems to be running and giving me back some info when I run it (from spektormax's payload). He mentions that I need to change the information in: /WIP/SBS/send.bat, /WIP/nmap_install/send.bat, and WIPVNCInstallfilessend.bat files I only have a send.bat file in the last of the three folders, why could this be? Also, the fld, nmap_install, and SBS folders all show up empty, even though right clicking on them and viewing their properties reveals that there are files in there that I can't see. I have hidden files and folders selected as being shown, so why can't I see or edit these files? Aren't they there? Thanks! --Matt PS, sorry again for my "newbie-ness" to this stuff. I've been reading the wiki, but couldn't find everything that I needed last night, so thanks again for the help!
  11. Is there any chance of you making one available for Memorex? Yours seems quite complete and affective as well... --Matt
  12. I must be really dumb, because I have no idea how to do this correctly lol... I've extracted the U3_LP_Updater file, ran the UpdaterCore, and now my drive says "Memorex" on the U3 application, but that's about as far as I can get. How to I get the iso file on there? I'm pretty computer savvy, but this is the first time I've attempted anything like this. Also, how do I edit the iso? Or can I just get somebody's payload and drop it in there to make it easier? Thanks for the help and for understanding my ignorance on the matter! Here's what my former GeekSquad Drive (F : ) has in it: Documents folder, System folder, and LaunchU3 application that appears once the U3 menu opens up after plugging in the drive. In the "cd" portion, I have an autorun setup information file, launchpad zip file, and the same LaunchU3 application that appears in the other part as well, but none of these files are editible as it seems, which makes perfect sense. What I can't figure out, however, is how to edit the ISO, what folder to put any payloads I download in, and how to link whatever I tell it to do in the ISO to that particular folder as well. What do I do? Sorry again for my ignorance! --Matt
  13. This is probably a dumb question, but how do you have a "custom" ISO for yourself? I see the iso's in the download, but I can't figure out how to edit it. --Matt
  14. I moved my question to the following page, in it's own topic, please help! http://www.hak5.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=41453#41453 --Matt
