  1. I'd like to copy files with a specific filename format. Here's an example: picture1.jpg picture1.highlight.jpg picture1.thumb.jpg picture.sized.jpg picture2.jpg picture2.highlight.jpg picture2.thumb.jpg picture2.sized.jpg I only want the ones WITHOUT the "highlight", "thumb", and "sized", therefore, I only want picture1.jpg and picture2.jpg. If I issue a: cp *.jpg ../temp ALL the files ending with .jpg will be copied and I eventually have to delete the rest manually by: rm *.highlight.jpg rm *.sized.jpg rm *.thumb.jpg in the temp directory. Is there a nifty way to only grab the ones I want? BTW, that was a small example. I have to grab about 200-300 images in each directory x 50 directories. :?:
  2. Right... and the majority of series of tubes users knows a shitload about encryption and internet security?
  3. "I know it's popular opinion that most people on MySpace are dumbasses" is quite a generalization, regardless if you think so or if the "popular opinion" thinks so.
  4. Yeah dude, let's all make sweeping generalizations of everyone.

  7. Before some moderator decides to lock this thread, I hope your podcast sounds good. A few months ago, I checked out a podcast about Macs (on a whim) and it sounded like crap. First, it was done by some 12-13 year-old kid with an annoying high-pitch squeaky voice. Then, about every two sentences was him bragging about how he owned this and that Mac products.

  9. Well, that's the same question I've been asking myself. But first, I need input from you all so I know whether this is worth my time and energy or not. I know about 4 years ago, a few friends and I had some talks about WAP enabled cell phones and its future. I did some web searching on WAP technology and there weren't much info on it. I don't know the exact numbers, but I looking at my awstat stats page, quite a few use Java web browser, which may or may not be cell phone users. IF I eventually decide to use WAP and IF people actually use WAP cell phones, sure, it'll attract more people. This is more for convenience to the users than to attract more hits to the site, like "Hmm, I wonder what concerts are going on tonight, but I'm too far from a computer with internet. I know, I'll look it up with my cell phone." Thanks for the input, guys.

    WAP/WML

I've been toying with the idea of adding WAP capabilities to an existing site, primarily to list up-to-date concert/venue information for a specific area. I know that I have to crack open some books on WML programming and enable a WAP/WML module on Apache2 and I'm set. My question is: Is it worth the trouble getting WAP up or will that technology die off like VRML and other unpopular internet technology fads?

  12. Open up your Task Manager and look for suspicious processes running. Do a google search for those rogue processes and read up on it.
