  1. it is not a problem with the tunneling, it is a problem with making the traffic go in to the tunnel
  2. actually is is a game that I wish to play, a private verison of a mmo called knight online. i have sniffed out the traffic and i know that it aways uses the same 10 ports for all traffic, i have confirmed the port list with the admin of the sever.
  3. it is not a single port i need to forward, but the protocol is able to be tunneled. i thought that host files mapped domain name to ip , not the other way around. I need a ip adress redirected to another one, not a domain name forwarded to a different ip
  4. i need to force a ip address to point to a different one on my windows box. more specifically, i need x.x.x.x:z to connect to 127.0.0.1:z 127.0.0.1:z is port forwarded to x.x.x.x:z though ssh im doing this becuase i am inside a VERY restricted firewall, the university i go to has almost all ports blocked. i have a ssh sever set up at my parents house and i dont need help with seting up ssh portwarding. i just can not figure out how to make all traffic headed towards a certain ip go through my tunnel
  5. so i can't watch last nights daily show any more? or old south park? ...... :( thats not cool
  6. i like you tube more only because it generally has better quality vids, and because there is a lot of ....um semi-legal content (tv shows, movie clips). google video would be good, but they kill the quality of it's videos, and they dont have half the ammount of content that youtube has.
  7. i have had similar problems with compaq bios on hds. first off it is just the bios setup tool that is on the partition, and if you screw it up you can download it from thier website. secondly try installing the bootloader to the mbr, not the first partion. the only problem i have had with ubuntu was getting my sound to work correctly, i have a laptop with a realtek card that i couldn't find suport for on most distros, but i found a thread on their forum site, and after compiling the new driver, and patching it in, i have had no problems. well except that sometimes after i do an update, i have to repatch for the sound to work again.[/img]
  8. Darren I hope you didn't go all the way with that windows ce whore. She has AIDS, and i bunch of other fun viruses. If you haven't found out already lets just say she likes to put the trojans in YOU. if you dont want to get sick, stick with the cool kids. Oh and by the way Linux says to tell you that she has matured alot and she misses you. Take it from someone who knows, Linux will give you a much better time than windows.Haven't you ever heard the saying "Once you go Linux you never lack?"
  9. i have a bios pass, a hdd pass, a grub pass, and of course my main login pass to windows, backtrack, or ubuntu. basically if you lock the bios, boot first from hdd (nonremovable), and dont let people remove the cmos battery :P you will be fairly secure. that is if you simply want to prevent access to the machine it self. you said that you are talking about a laptop, many laptops have a builtin hdd locking feature, look and see if yours does.
  10. smiley's computers lol thts kinda gay or maybe safetech or GiPC or GiTech
  11. how about this: you know you are a hacker when you go a store just to try to guess how their network set up. you know you are a hacker when you start sniffing your hotels wifi before you even get you room key. you know you are a hacker when you a personal database of access points and at least 50 wep keys that you personally cracked. you now you are a hacker when you have too many computer to all power up at once with out tripping a breaker. you know you are a hacker when you have used over a 1000 differnt MACs on the same network card. you know you are a hacker when think it is cool to have a computer older than you are. you know you are a hacker if you bought a crappy car so you could afford a better computer set up you know you are a hacker when you have a 1TB NAS devoted entirely devoted to rainbow tables.
  12. try here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList....SubCategory=143 look at the reviews, and specs. pick your favorite. i haven't seen them any cheaper then this
  13. now try for 31337 posts .... and it will work again
  14. free crappy ftp server? why run that when you could run a free good one on linux, or ISS ftp? on second though never ever use an ISS server they will get you pwnd. ISS is terrible for exploits.
  15. in short you cannot hide your presence and send/recieve data. However you can hide who you are, which is what most of the others are talking about. Depending on how the network is setup, I wouldn't do anything I didn't want to be traced back to me from such a connection. If you are at a large company. they probly have sniffers checking for users using stuff like this. A smaller one is less likely to find such a box. However please note that If discovered, you will be in big trouble, It would be considered the same as hacking the network since you are bypasing security. you could be fired, so dont do it unless you know what you are doing.
  16. How about using an openmosix on linux, then running vmware and intstall windows on top of the linux. this should be much cheaper (cheaper = almost free) this is actually a project i have been planing to attempt, does any know if this wouldn't work?
