  1. I recently had a nightmare where the raid controller decided to destroy the array table (Had something to do with a corrupt Watchdog). Needless to say, the partitions were messed up, so windows wanted to format, the user formated... then wanted to know why everything was gone?! I tried everything on the internet from free to paid applications. What ended up working flawlessly was TestDisk & PhotoRec. It's built using cygwin, so it has no gui. But then again, the hardcore dont need no stinking gui. And of course, always bring the files back to another drive if possible. Not going to help much if you write over the sectors you are reading. * Edit - Just tried this on my USB drive, and it actually works unlike most of the other recovery tools I have used. Also supports XBOX drives, hmm, Im going to try that out later (Actually, it seems this thing will run on all OS's and support all file structures).
  2. rd = remove directory /s = include sub directories /q = quite mode c: = the path to remove Here is a short list of the variables in Windows. msdn.microsoft.com is a great place to learn all things Windows.
  3. Because Im paranoid and all, can this package manager have md5 checksums?
  4. I dont have a link. I wrote my own loader that when it runs it hooks the keyboard and mouse much like a key logger does. Then it reads an ini file for all the available payloads, the path to the payload, and the hotkey. If I have a hotkey pressed, it just calls the patch to the payload (After it finds the USB drive). I was also able to hide the app completely from all process list. However, I could not get it to unload correctly. So, when you ran it twice you got a BSOD. @G-Stress You can use any iso writer. I used nero. The autorun.inf tells windows that this CD-ROM drive will execute this... In my loader the autorun.inf points to the autorun.exe in the same folder and that runs the above loader I was talking about. You can have your autorun.inf point to anything you want to. The reason it goes to the exe is because in the application I have a routine that looks for the removable drive letter (As this will vary from machine to machine). Also, somewhere in here I pasted my original payload. It's pretty ugly and has come a long way. I think it's somewhere on page 17. However, at the top of the batch script is a dump path. On my lan payload I just changed the dump path to the netbios nameshare on my computer.
  5. @G-Stress No, I use wget to try and get an outside IP, if that does not happen, then I know there is no internet connection and I dump via netbios back to my machine (If Im on a LAN). This is another payload in itself. I have one payload that is for the cruzer and looks at hotkeys to exec payloads and another for remote use that uses splitters/rar to autorun. @deathwarder Looks into psexec from sysinternals. It requires a remote account with priv. to write to the remote drive. @melodic This would be part of the framework. However, making modules/plugins I think kills the hacker mentality about it and makes it a huge script kiddie tool. Then this forum would blow up with people having problems on modules and never understanding why. I have made a loader that uses modules with hotkeys as I know I will not need a full dump on a machine so why waste the time (The payload takes to long as it is).
  6. Arkon, have you used DeviceWall? Does it install a service, if yes (most likely), is it slow on USB transfer data?
  7. Do you have any pictures of your setup? Im in the middle of trying to setup another media center. I did the whole modded xbox thing with XBMC and it was cake. Now, Im wondering what benefits Im going to get with a computer. I see none. The price tag of a used or "broken" xbox on ebay is pretty much telling me I should mod another xbox. And, Im not sure I want to attempt to mod a 360. Currently, I have about 800g server that the xbox streams content from. I dont really like this idea. So, should I just setup something like this in utility room? Does anyone have experience using just NAT for media centers? Now I just have to figure out how I can map two NAT storage units into one network that both xbox's can stream from.
  8. /sarcasm (Im working on getting my cert)

    twiki?

I believe dreamhost has a one click install for that, Im not sure. Some Articles: Geek to Live: Set up your personal Wikipedia TiddlyWiki Pbwiki - Free hosted Wiki Wiki on a Stick
  10. Macs are unhackable. Youre lucky. Actually, I never mess with a mac except to fix my little sister's so I would have no idea where to start. Im a Microsoft Fan Boi, not by choice. Well, I guess you could start by plugging the drive in and see if it autoruns the payload. If so, then find the unix equivalant of most the tools. That would take some google'ing and I doubt you will find everything you are looking for.
  11. @Draconova When you format the drive with the new loader, it will attempt to run the loader during this setup. @G-Stress Yes, I use wget to grab and external IP, if it brings nothing back it shoots everything over on a netbios name as I have no idea what my IP will be on various networks.
  12. On Darren's payload, yes. That is why it was a working POC. Aka, learn from it and tweak it for your needs. It was just proof that it can be done. There are plenty of ways to fix it: Exclude folders Limit the folder size etc
  13. Some super leet coder should make the option in your profile to auto collapse people who are labeled microshaft certified. Would make it a lot easier to just skip over their content/huge avatar, etc.

Direct connect file transfer + netstat = IP
  15. But it's functional! That is actually a bluetooh/wifi antenna (Oh and it glows like those extremelly annoying cell phone antennas when it catches a signal). Kind of puts new meaning to "war-walking". /me waits for everyone to jump in and start the lame pick-ups.
  16. Install 3 coax lines, 2 cat5 lines per room in the house. Trust me, it will be well worth it in the long run. Have all these lines home run to the garage where everything gets grounded and is there first place sat installers like to place the dish. 2 Coax lines = Sat (With Tivo Support) 1 Coax line = Plain Jane cable TV 1 Cat5 = Data 1 Cat5 = Phone (You can do VoIP and use one Cat5 line) You can not run wires to each room in the house and have the servers/workstations in another room. The signal fall off is way to great. And, audio can travel down emtpy coax lines. Once you have the basics, you are only hendered by your imagination. And it does not have to cost that much. My most recent project for a client was the above wiring plus 3 drone workstations, 1 media server, and 1 media extender for less than $5k. And it only took a weekend to setup. However, it took the client about a month to learn everything and tweak it to his needs. The next addon to this is to have rfid sensors around the house so rooms can "adjust" to the user. The hardest part of the whole project was matching drone desktops when the user switched enviroments and setting up the harmony remotes. You can easily drown in features in that remote.
  17. How are you a Forum Enforcer if you cant label and box people? Blasphemy.
  18. Im going to check that out. DeviceLock slows down data transfer to the USB drive by half at the very least. Im finding myself having to stop the service just so I can do my backup. *DeviceWall (No price? I dont have the time to call people to order something... bah.)

  20. It's a marine brain washing thing. So far I have not met one who does not go anywhere without a personal firearm. They are taught that that gun is their only survival mechanism. That being said, if your life depended on how well you knew the workings of your mouse... I would hope that you know every last detail of that sucker and anything it comes in contact with. However, do know that if your mouse becomes unplugged for any reason, you should know the basic of keyboard shortcuts to get you by until your mouse is functional. This saying bothers me almost as much as "Semper Fi" that the marines had to make popular, again. It makes me sick to see ideas forced upon people who slowly just accept what they are being told. _Bad Marine_: _Good Marine_: Jump! Jump! How high? <jumps as high as possible until his knee caps shatter> Im not bashing marines, it takes a special type of person to be in the corps. I know a couple of people who wanted to do that "Protect our country" type thing and joined the corps. Now they can not wait until the 4 years are up because everything is political and most of them feel they are expendable. I would not last a day in the corps, I question everything. Semper Fi.
  21. But he has his Microshaft Cert! Man, Im green with envy.

  23. In some cases you know the domain admin credentials, however, you do not do everyday activities with this account. It's bad practice, just like in linux you dont run as super user all the time. That is why there is a runas command in windows. Well, trial and error never hurts when you have a good backup system. =)
