I understand that it’s a public channel but so is BinRev and they manage to deal with a little ASM/C/whatever to say hello to everyone. I think I will stick with them. Thanks anyway.

I was a little bored, so I went to check out your IRC channel and I got a ban after 5 seconds, after putting a little ASM I wrote on the screen that said hello, Are the IRC mods always this uptight?

    C Ideas ?

I decided to go with this idea, thanks everyone.
  9. Solaris is great on Sun hardware (SPARC) as it was designed from the ground up for their hardware, but it doesn’t feel the same on non Sun hardware. Hopefully, with it truly open to developers they can fix the speed issues you tend to get with non SPARC boxes.

    C Ideas ?

I have a small project for university, I have to write a program in two days and it has to be something that people would use in their day to day life. There is one restriction it has to be in C, now this isn’t an issue but, I could do with some ideas on what you think would be a useful day to day program.

  13. You would lose a chunk of time but it’s more about playing around with distributed compilation then time, although one of the reasons I’m trying it, is to see what kind of time will be involved, and if there are any big issues that arise when spreading the task over a large network.
