  1. I dont know about in the states, but up north in Canada, the providers tend to be very competitive, and since my company isnt paying for my phone :P I want to use a different network, because they offer much better pricing (by the second billing, rather than by the minute)
  2. yeah, i did some more research, its definatly based on the IMEI in my case (blackberry pearl 8100). beyond that though im not sure. I assume the code has to be generated through some algorythm.. any math geniuses up for a challenge? :P
  3. hey guys, I've been looking around on the internet doing some research on unlocking GSM phones. Just had a couple questions that werent really answered. From what i've understood i basically need to figure out what the code is, now my doubt is this based on the phone itself? (genereated from the IEMI) or is it model/firmware specific? Does anyone know of any programs that could brute force this? Are there any risks in terms of ending up with a brick? Im trying to unlock my Blackberry Pearl. Any help with this would be awesome, i jsut dont really want to pay someone money for something like this.
  4. Hey guys, im trying to setup synergy (from S2xE01) having a little trouble, its giving me these weird errors when setting the screen name. It will say The screen name 'pwn3d' is not in the layout.. any clue?
  5. So you want to basically have the U3 USB drive CDROM partition reference stuff on the USB partition? Man the fun you could have with this if it worked.. i wonder how fast you could have it install, have it completly silent on teh computer.. granted it might be hard to setup a hidden boot operator. Elaborate some more, i havent coded in a while, since i started my business degree so i dont know how useful i'd be. but this would be pretty sweet to develop
  6. hmm, well cameras for example can act in a diskmode.. could the same concept not be applied? the new phones which have the card slots (miniSD/microSD) im gonna guess they have a disk mode.. could the same concept not be used.. to access the bluetooth device in 'dev' mode? or something.. I realize this would probably require some extensive firmware mods.. maybe even drivers.. but its possible ?.. I realize that its easier to buy a dongle.. but now im intrigued by the challenge...
  7. No i didn’t, I figured people here wouldn’t mind, and I trust the people who post on this forum more then I trust (as well as value their opinion more), than some random person from the internet. My understanding of a forum was that it was a place where one could ask a community of people for their expertise, and input. <sarcasm> But okay, I'll just not bother posting, and sticking to just Google searchs... In fact we all should do just that, and you know boycott forums and stuff. </sarcasm> edit: spelling
  8. I recently purchased a new laptop (old one's motherboard freaked out and died RIP :( ). anyways the new one doesnt have a bluetooth device.... What im wondering is .. if its possible to use a USB enabled phone (ie Motorola L6) as a bluetooth device for the computer? Would this involve firmware hacking the phone/unlocking it? is this built into any OS/linux distro?
  9. Is it possible to get the linux livecd images onto a usb drive, and usethem on a computer that allows for a USB device booting? what exatcly would be involved? is it just a straight copy+paste. AS well as would you get better performance? etc etc? Ideas, comments, walkthrough :P all appreciated..
  10. hmm, yeah i guess i wasnt very specific. I'd like to be able to use Fastpush, which is a dos program. so i assume that i would need to be able to run dos in some way ?
  11. Does anyone know of any psp msdos emulators or if its even possible? Because i'd love to try out Fastpush on the psp
  12. I just formatted my laptop and im trying to decide if i should delve into linux, a buddy of mine suggested i start with live cds, but its myu understanding that the live cd likely wont have driver support for my wifi card or the integrated bluetooth. Is there any distro that would tend to have more drivers or anything? or should i be looking into making a seperate partition?
  13. How do I go about joining the F@H HaK5 team?
  14. I think i found away around the admin problem.. From my understanding psexec is a program that lets you run apps in the system account.. For example you can use it to see hidden parts of the registry, im not sure if it could modified to work with the pwdump or w/e to run it in that method. the link is here: http://www.sysinternals.com/utilities/PSexec.html if you guys wanted to give it a shot. let me know what you guys come up with i cant really try anything right now, since im not at my computer
