We will no longer reside at: 255 Subnet Way, Suite eth0 Williamsburg, VA 23188 192-168-1100

Or you could write a small vbs to popup a window on boot saying the computers are being monitored anyway. Kinda like those "Security Alarm Onboard" stickers on cars, or fake cameras in chincy convenience stores. Just make sure to run it by HR & Legal and consult your IT policy.

You'd probably get better results with something like Blender. Then again the animated gifs started giving me a headache so I blocked em.

AVG gave me a rash once and symantec took all the fun out of switchblade development. I know we're all supposed to practice safe computing but there's nothing like freeballing on the tubes every now and then. You just gotta know what sites are gonna give you ganaherpasyphilritous Ooo, a cookie :)

No offense to the animated gif people but they're annoying me to the point that I added a line in my host file to block them. If they're having a negative impact on the forum performance to our guests then I think it's time we rethink our avatar policy. Hang on, I think I hear the kittens meowing at the door

HAK.5 Screen Saver! Download Now (Unoffical)
Darren Kitchen replied to hsncorrosion's topic in Everything Else
Couldnt you just post the source? -
I saw a nice little whois.exe command line app for windows somewhere once. Can't remember if it's from sysinternals or not but a quick google would find it. Anyway private registration is for suckers. Whois Hak5 and see what I mean.

I'm not sure what method Paul will be using. I believe he wants to go the softmod route, but I haven't put any research into it.

Video:Using SysInternals’ Process Monitor to Analyze Apps
Darren Kitchen replied to Dаrren Kitchen's topic in Questions
Very cool, thanks Irongeek -
Well it's pretty simple actually. Blocks of IPs are sold to ISPs by a RIR. A trace route will show you the ISP responsible for the IP in question, however you'll need to subpoena the ISP for their logs to find out which customer has said IP. The RIAA do it all the time, it's called a John Doe subpoena. Here's some reading to get you started http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_Assi...mbers_Authority http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regional_Internet_Registry http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classless_Inter-Domain_Routing

Lets take a few steps back and explain to us what your goal is, because splitting a USB cable may not be the best solution. Yoy say you want a mouse on two PCs for gaming. Can you elaborate?
-
I wouldn't mind seeing a gnome or kde theme for Hak5
-
Why do they only go 180'? it's driving me crazy like the BF2 loading cursor. Gah

Cant wait to test this out. I believe Paul's going to softmod his Xbox when we all move into the new house. No sense in having two unmodded xboxes.

Just wanted to say I'm down with this thread. Paralys seems to be going about this right. Check out SmartSniff, supposedly it doesnt require winpcap. http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/smsniff.html Also keep an eye on http://www.packetstuff.com/ It had USB versions of ethereal, nmap, etc but seems to be down Edit: Found this linked from http://www.winpcap.org/news.htm http://www.cacetech.com/products/toolkit.htm has a toolkit of open source net admin tools that have been recompiled for windows with the winpcap driver built in. they have a trial version which includes 7 programs as well as paid versions. Edit 2: here's the portable version of nmap from the now unavailable packetstuff.com site. http://www.hak5.org/temp/nmap-381.zip

Relax a bit on the AUP/TOU/TOS Hacking is not a crime. I just don't wanna see warez or pron in here.

I'm confused but from the looks of the site it's not spam. Sounds like big fun LAN party. So DLSS, for those of us who arent familiar with BomLAN, can you explain it for us?

HAK5 Animated Logo (I animated it)
Darren Kitchen replied to hsncorrosion's topic in Everything Else
I've tried many times to get the Hak5 logo into 3DS Max many times but the way the BASE_02 font is when you extrude it you end up with a clipped up mess. I really have no idea how I'll ever get our logo into 3D unless I trace it, which is a royal PITA. -
Kudos on the nice switchblade module!

Yeah I know thats the opinion of some and I respect that. People tune in every month with expectations of hacks, mods, software, etc and we need to continue with that. I've expressed my beliefs about the PP docu ad nauseum and 2x06 we had to cut short with the house. I wish I could say that 2x07 will be a breeze in production but we get the new house on the 15th and have to have the apartment closed by the 30th and it's a lot to move so it hasnt been your typical episode production schedule around here. I'm sure we'll get back to basics soon and everyone will understand. If this was our full time job things would be different but for the time being it's still a hobby we do on the side for fun and we're super dedicated but there are only so many hours with other commitments like our real jobs so, anyway, I just hope you understand and stick with it because we're in it for the long haul.

Darren Kitchen replied to silivrenion's topic in Everything Else
Can we get some charts and graphs before we decide. Personally my login password is 21 characters long including both case alpha, numeric, and $pecials Then again, I'm paranoid. -
