I think my TETRA isn't getting enough power with the Pineapple Juice 15000. I've tried using one and both ports to power it in the EDC but it reboots before it fully boots up. I read through the power notice a few times and I don't think I'm doing anything wrong since it states the max power budget is 18W and I believe using both ports together supplies ~15.2W.
What is the best method for powering the TETRA on the go? Do I have to wait until I get my second battery that Darren mentioned to do this?
You'll need to wait until you receive the second juice pack. I'm really sorry for the inconvenience. It's going out tomorrow. You'll receive an automated email from the HakShop with tracking info then.

Relatively steady supply coming in, with one caveat. The Chinese New Year is currently underway and as such we may experience a very brief inventory shortage in a few weeks. After that it should be consistent throughout the year.

Thanks WeatherTech - it's the supportive community we've fostered that makes doing this so rewarding. The sentiment is reciprocated.
Now that the TETRA storm is over we're looping back around to get all the bits and bobs available in the HakShop à la carte. :)

I think you'll all be quite impressed with what we were able to pull off -- not only in range but also speed. 100 Mbps on 5G is easily achievable most places in the warehouse -- so much so that I'm thinking we'll be switching over to a TETRA as our primary AP for the Hak5 offices :)

Side note: on the site it says "Tactical Edition includes all the basics, plus the EDC Backpack, two Pineapple Juice 15000 batteries, & morale patches" I only got one battery pack though. Do I need to contact support about that?
Yes, that is a mistake and we're shipping out a second battery to the few orders that went out by accident without the second battery. Since the TETRA is so high power with its quad amps, we upgraded the Tactical Edition from a single Pineapple Juice 15000 to two. This was done at no cost to customers. While it's possible to run on a single battery in many circumstances, we decided that since it's possible to peak above the current provided by the juice pack under heavy load conditions it would be a better experience overall to utilize both of the USB power ports (ETH/UART) and know for certain it won't reboot when there's a spike. This wasn't as much an with the dev units or the 80 brought back in suitcases, but when we did the RF shielding enhancement (the reason for the delay) we boosted power by 15%. The result is a higher performance device, albeit slightly hungrier for juice.
My apologies to the handful that went out with just one by mistake -- we'll be contacting you and shipping another battery shortly. This is a very new product and we're excited to start getting feedback from this small group of TETRA pioneers. I'm here to support the product 100% so please feel free to voice your concerns to Sara, Seb and I at the HakShop as we strive for the best experience possible.
We also have a newcomer to the HakShop family who is helping Sara in shipping and we're all getting up to speed on the TETRA delivery process as well as rushing to get them all out to you. At this point all of the back-orders have gone out. About a third of them on Monday and the vast majority of the rest yesterday unless there were address changes or other special logistics communicated by the customer. I'll echo what others have said -- USPS is hit or miss on tracking. I'll tell you exactly why too, they don't always scan in all of the packages. We don't always get the same driver pickup from the warehouse and when we wheel out a cart of lots of packages they'll sometimes just put 'em in the truck without scanning them all in. It's frustrating. Thankfully Tom our regular driver does this with a special scan form we print that has a single bar code for the entire batch - but again like I said it's hit or miss. UPS and DHL are much better in this regard. Anyway, not to get on a shipping rant but with USPS' price hike in January (which non of you incurred thankfully), they're within 10% of the price of UPS or DHL for international so I think we might be re-evaluating how and when we use their services.

There are no additional charges.
Also I'm very surprised to hear how many people didn't get the initial email. I'll be mocking this scenario up again with a test product and a few accounts myself and see if I can't reproduce it. Thus far shopify has been pretty good to us in the email department.

I don't know if this was covered, however, is hotspot usb dongles, like for example the AT&T Beam, supported on the NANO and the Tetra?
Modems that use CDC_Ether or RNDIS are. You can also get older serial style modems working if you're familiar with the ppp link setup. I can't speak to your particular modem since I don't have one myself, but you'll find more discussion on 3G/4G with the WiFi Pineapple in general from this thread: https://forums.hak5.org/index.php?/topic/37131-questions-about-3g-4g-modems/

What I was trying was to go in the other direction... Not setting up a AP on my phone, just using it as a client.
This is possible in theory since it's the same as what happens when you use the wp6.sh script in Linux to share an Internet connection with the NANO over WiFi -- but the problem you'll likely run into is that a non-rooted phone doesn't have iptables. You'll likely need a new rom entirely.

A key component in our 6th generation plan is a companion device, currently code named the "Pineapple Core", that'll offload certain functions and add enhanced data gathering and analysis capabilities. Think of it as a database engine to an application server.
The Pi2 is formidable hardware for a Kali install and something I'm sure you could easily see some use out of when connected upstream from the WiFi Pineapple. Perhaps something like:
Internet--> AP <--> ALFA <--> Pi2 <--> NANO <--Client

What you're describing is a Preferred Network List - something a WiFi network manager would handle.
There's a network manager on the WiFi Pineapple in the form of /etc/config/network and /etc/config/wireless -- but since it's a router OS they are static by default.
Another way to handle this would be to have a daemon or constantly running script that starts on boot to monitor wlan2 WiFi (or possibly Internet) connectivity, and when unavailable move to the next AP in the list. This could be done by bypassing the built-in WiFi client mode manager that references /etc/config/wireless and rather interface directly with "iw".
I recommend making a feature request at wifipineapple.com/bugs -- it'll help us know what to prioritize on with the next firmware update.

In addition to what CulinaryOutlaw said, those FPV style antennas are RHCP or LHCP cloverleafs with circular polarization. Keep in mind most devices has liner polarized antennas (vertical, horizontal or both). It probably won't make a huge deal in the real world, but if you're noticing reduced range it can be a factor.
Also FWIW if you're only doing passive scanning from aerial platforms like a RC planes or quadcopters, it won't interfere with typical 2.4 GHz Spektrum control signals ;-)

I hope this will provide some clarification on how Recon works:
When a Client & AP scan is initiated, the monitor interface will begin channel hopping, listening for data frames between clients and access points. It will then display the access points and clients seen, as well as their child-parent relationship. The longer the scan, the longer the monitor interface will listen on each channel. If no data is exchanged between client and AP during this time, it will not be displayed after the scan. This is why clients will seemingly drop and re-appear when running a continuous scan. Your clients may be associated with the nearby AP, but if they aren't communicating during the scan window for their specific channel, we won't see them.
While we could "remember" clients for a period of time after first seen, then fade them away after X minutes if not seen anymore, this would be based on a guess and not actual data. We prefer to show what we are 100% confident is in the air at that time. If this is requested enough, we can consider a way to implement it visually without causing issues when clients do eventually drop or become out of range. Let us know your thoughts!

Might wanna try using a USB 2.0 port maybe the NANO and the drivers don't work to well with 3.0 USB.
USB 2.0 vs 3.0 won't make a difference in this regard.
Which version of Windows 7 were you using I've noticed that I had issues with getting the Prolific 2303 drivers to install on Windows 7 starter Windows 7 Home and I believe Windows 7 Ultimate I've noticed drivers normally seem to install fine for Windows 7 Pro.
I know the Prolific 2303 drivers are different im just using that as an example that I've had better luck with windows 7 pro when it comes to installing drivers.
I no longer have a Windows 7 machine but i will set one up later today and test it with Windows 7 Pro.
All versions of Windows 7 have access to the same WHQL driver database via Windows update.
My windows is windows 7 pro
V 6.1.7601 service pack 1 build 7601
X64-based pc
When I updated the driver, things "just worked" as advertised. It's weird... almost like the driver didn't install right from the auto-install on windows.
Providing details from USB View on the affected machine would be helpful

Sorry this is happening to you man. I know how it goes when you're anxious to get it going! A factory restore should put everything back in order.
You're doing everything right except for setting the IP address.
When you hold down the RESET button while plugging the NANO into your computer, it goes into bootloader mode. From there you can recover the firmware from a web interface -- but it's at 192.168.1.1, not 172.16.42.1
You'll need to specify a static IP address in the 192.168.1.x range, like 192.168.1.2
Then navigate to http://192.168.1.1and you'll have the option to recover the firmware :)

I want to apologize specifically to DataDigital. It seems like you didn't receive the initial email regarding the delay. I'm sorry - it wasn't out intent to just expect everyone to come here for updates. I understand how frustrating it is when you have to email us first to find out.
We had 2 or 3 issues where people didn't receive the initial delay email due to either checked out with secondary account or spam filters. We're trying to be 110% accommodating and communicative, which is why I've been keeping this thread updated with the latest information I receive as well as linking here from emails to individual customers.
I want to welcome you along with other newcomers to the forums and the WiFi Pineapple community and offer my sincerest apologies for the delay. I'd like to start off on the best foot and I hope you will find the community as helpful and welcoming as I have over the last 7-8 years of the project.
Now on to the update and answers to your questions:
* They've left passed clearance review and have been scanned for export. From our experience this means they'll be here within 1-2 business days -- though sometimes sooner as they fly over the weekend. Clearing on the other side means it'll be quicker to us once they get to the states. We also have the bonus of going West across the International date line.

Check the Reporting page. You can save a PineAP Site Survey (Recon Scan) to the report.
If you want to initiate a recon scan manually from the command line issue:
/usr/bin/pineapple/site_survey 15Where 15 is seconds. To store just redirect standard out to a file.-

Just for further clarification regarding the batteries. Initially we developed with the single Pineapple Juice 15000 and it was adequate for normal operation. When we enhanced the RF shielding for system stability (the reason for the delay) we had the opportunity to further increase the power, but now it draws 15% more. On the one hand it means the thing is just that much more beastly, but sadly it's the camel that broke the straws back in regards to the Pineapple Juice 15000. The second battery solves this, and we're looking at building a dedicated battery base for the Tetra. I'm still sketching it up but I'm thinking a stackable unit that'll do 24-48 hours operation, possibly user configurable with 18650 lipo cells - so let me know if that's something that interests you guys.
