  1. I said it was cool. I woke up on the free speech side of the bed today. If your not interested in his offer just ignore it.

The Season One Collection includes all episodes, including the hidden ones, along with directors commentary and additional extras. That one will be for sale and span about 3 DVDs. I don't have any information on a date or price as of right now but I wouldnt expect it anytime in the near future. Hope that clears things up. Sorry for the double post.
  3. I'd be happy to make you an account on my FTP so you can upload it there. I've got a 10 MBit downlink so it should go fairly quickly. It'll add another 1 mbit to the seeding. :) And if not, well, I'll just wait for the torrent and take it from there. That would be superb! PM me details. -1 stupid for using superb in a sentence
  4. +5 Redundant. And since when did we start moderating the forums slashdot style? Damn, someone tell me there's a plugin for phpBB. Erg, this place would be so damn cool if we had a decent forum admin. Current management is lazy! They suck! Screw Hak.wait. Yeah, no, I'm just too uber busy producing the show. :( Ok, now that I've taken us +5 Off Topic I'll digress and hope to get a PM from a badass phpBB nerd that makes me schreak with joy. PS: In soviet russia hak5 watches you!
  5. tracked like acid & fruity loops, or something.. and yes, MOD/XM/S3M/IT FTW!!! http://www.hak5.org/aardwolf/music/
  6. this is the free one. now I've just got to find some way to get this thing out the door. I mean, my poor little 2mbit up connection isnt going to do squat seeding it. I'm transferring it to multiple servers on OC3 connections tonight.
  7. I had to rerender it to fix a minor mistake, the 4.2 GB file is on its way to the server now so hopefully soon.
  8. you might want to start with an already developed rendering engine and build from there
  9. no, I was in the Password Cracking and Time Memory Trade Off panel while it happened in the Privacy is dead, get over it panel. I spoke about it briefly on TWIT 63. But yeah nobody saw it happen, the arrest took place in the hotel but not in the conference center.
  10. That's something that Wess tracked himself. If you want I can throw it up on the goodies page.
  11. I was on the phone with godaddy today since I thought the domain expired today, but it was a while since I whois'd them and they must have rereg'd since then. I mentioned the whole cybersquatting thing and the sales guy said basically I'm fucked and if I want the domain my best bet is to contact them an d see if they'll sell it to me (which is extortion basically).
  12. considering the new TOS and how much publicity can be had from youtube, we're damned if we do and damned if we dont. :(
  13. not sure about your browser, but in mine CTRL+ENTER is .com, SHIFT+ENTER is .net and CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER is .org Ooo, and I just registered both hackfive.org and hakfive.org Why? Dunno. Just farking pissed that I couldnt have hak5.com too. Damnit

  15. Ok, if you're in Firefox right now do this. CTRL+T ALT+D Type "hak5" then CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER CTRL+F5 PG DOWN, PG UP CTRL+SHIFT+TAB Now click reply and tell me what you think. If you don't get it, I'm sorry.
  16. Everywhere we get publicized brings in a different audience. Forums like binrev and slashdot pull in one kind of hacker Diggnation and Digg bring in another kind Just as Call for Help and Twit, commandN, and LabRats do PurePwnage brings in interesting viewers as well as Wired and now PC Format magazines Oh, and youtube. I've got to say so far the emails we've gotten from people that found us on youtube are priceless. So I can only imagine that the myspace crowd will be even more interesting. Just know that you've got a low UserID and were there back when Hak5 sucked and Microshaft was selling bowls of networked fruit.
  17. yea what he said.... there's a really good o'reilly book called dns/BIND read that become 'l33torz' That book is awesome. I only read half of it though, considering that I had no ambitions of running my own DNS server. I think it's just a good read for anyone as the first few chapters really help you understand the Internet.
  18. commandN, Diggnation, DL.TV, and LabRats... Oh wait, I mean.. The Shield, 24, Battlestar Galactica, and LOST.
  19. nope. i can access all the hashes i could ever want though Mmmm, hash I mean.. nevermind. ask VaKo
  20. Well he just posted and it hasn't changed. And no, maybe he's not stupid. Maybe he's actually a networking god and has his network so tight not even <INSERT NAME OF INFAMOUS HACKER WHOS NAME STRIKES FEAR INTO NOOBS YET GETS MOCKED BY THE SECURITY PROFESSIONALS> could get in. Dude, if your password is god, secret, sex, or love, you might wanna change it. Oh: and off topic but I'm feeling ranty. When you register for the forums and you get an email from darren@hak5.org with your password, that's not actually me welcoming you. It's automated and my address is just the return address. So if you reply to that saying "Thanks I love the show!", I now have your password. And I *really* don't want to know your five character all lowercase password that's in the dictionary. I have enough passwords on my own to remember and now I'm stuck remembering yours just for the pure _zomg_ factor. +++END RANT
  21. my cellphone sucks too. Right now I'm transitioning from a Treo 650 to a Treo 700w. Wow, who would have ever thought that transitioning from phone to phone would take time. Well, it does, there's a lot of stuff. Anyway, I rocked the Treo 650. I'm not a huge palm fan, but at least every single menu is designed for maximum usability. I was able to pull off tasks in no time with the click of a few buttons. Now I'm fumbling around with a stylus. Ugh. It's not the Treo's fault. The phone is well designed, but the software wasn't designed with humans in mind. The implementation of Windows Mobile 5 sucks. It can do everything I want, but the navigation is kludgy at best. IRC, SSH, VNC, RDP, Web, FTP, you name it. But it's like using a computer, not a phone. Oh, and the whole crashing a few times a day thing is really getting old. Every couple of mornings I wake up, check my phone, and I'm greeted with a message about some service that crashed and would I like to send an error report to microsoft. I swear one of these days the damn phone is going to reboot into safemode and I'll be greeted with 8 bit color and no networking support. Windows on a phone makes about as much sense as windows on a diffibulator. +++END OF RANT
