  1. I happen to use a Dell Mini 910 myself i know alot of people are also fans of the IBM Thinkpad laptops. I've heard people saying you should try and stay away from laptops with a Nvidia GPU possibly due to driver issues. I have no idea what model laptop darren uses i only know from laptops i've used and laptops i've seen other people use. Sorry if im not much help just figured i'd add my thoughts.
  2. heh i'll have to put off buying one of these for now until i see some enclosures or more ideas to cases $120 only to be damaged by something spilling on it is too much of a waste of money. I also really don't have anything Bluetooth to do videos on anyways so kinda a waste right now.

    Get Wifi

4+ Miles shoot thats going to be hard without a strong antenna and a clear view over looking the 4+ miles. You'd be able to do that easy if The World Trade Center was still up in New York City but if you're signal has to go thru alot of stuff like houses and walls and trees its going to be tough.
  4. I happen to like my Dell Mini 910 N series netbook its 10 inches easy for portability picked it up on ebay for under $160 had to replace the battery ended up getting a battery for it that lasts over 4 hours in the field on medium load. Myself i prefer a computer thats small as i can get thats easy to carry around rather then a laptop that is as big as my LCD monitors at home. I happen to be a big fan of Dell computers there easy to get replacement parts and easy to repair. Screen shot of my Dell Mini 910.
  5. Domain Forwarding for what? Are you setting up a website or is this related to the wifi pineapple is what i don't get. If you're talking about like forwarding a domain name say like you were the owner of hak5.org and you're domain register was godaddy and you were trying to forward the domain to say wifipineapple.com you'd need to go into your domain management for godaddy and forward the domain in there. Godaddy if thats the place you host you're domain should be able to help you with forwarding you're domain name to another domain name. It does take up to 72 hours once you make changes to a DNS for it to update world wide. Best thing to do is i recommend using custom DNS servers say like googles custom dns servers cause there dns servers update fast so you'd see your domain possibly working with your forwarding. Im sorry if the way im telling you is complicated.
  6. Ohh wow off topic but its cool to see digininja replying freaking legend in my books :D
  7. Yeah hackthissite.org is my advice they give you questions as to what should you do to hack each test however i know its cheating but you can google the answers and learn you can't learn to read without knowing you're ABC's first. Thats the way i feel about people who would use google for hackthissite.org to be honest there are alot of the tests on hackthissite.org i've never started nor finished. I think the real question is how do you want to learn it or which method would you learn better at Do you learn faster from a video? or are you the kinda person who likes to read a long guide or book Because everybody learns stuff differently myself i prefer to be shown in a video how to do it then sitting here reading a book i have a really short attention span it really has be to be something im wanting to know to take the time to pick up a book. The people like myself who dislike to read a book or guide i feel we are the ones who miss out on learning. Lucky for us theres now audio books coming out.
  8. Meh i noticed on this forum no one seems to want to go about talking about anything that isn't about Ethical Hacking and its understandable however i have done alot of videos that cover Man in the middle attacks on my YouTube channel that you can check out and anyone else whos interested. To answer you're question yes its still possible to hack smart phones over a wireless network however if their connected over 3g/4g i've never honestly tried but i don't think you can or at least i'd hope you can't cause that should be encrypted data on them kinda networks. However gmail facebook and any other websites using the newer HTTPS with TLS not likely you will be hacking them kinda logins unless you're phishing and dns spoofing the target website the victim is going to. Fact i just released a video the other day to my collection of series im doing on the Social Engineering Toolkit. The one i released was using Credential Harvester Attack method with ettercap and dns spoof. You ever have any questions im always willing to try my best to help however i don't hack for people i managed to do a good job by myself getting arrested for hacking i don't need help :D I seem to always get alot of people asking me to help them hack a facebook account or something stupid of that nature if it was that easy facebook would be hacked everyday not that its not but there would be alot of people doing it compared to just people who spend time finding holes in facebook.
  9. I'm sure you guys are about to see this quest for the 100th time already so here it gos again.... Using a 4 GB Cruzer Fit USB Stick no idea whats up with this. Anyone know the fix for this and im also curious to know if i will have to redo all this after the power is off on the pineapple the next time i use it.
  10. He told me over comments on his video unboxing reaver pro that it has been completely recoded and doesn't use any of the past reaver code. He says that Craig Heffner has recoded it to be improved to the point that the old reaver pro and also the reaver found on code.google.com not as good as the new reaver pro. The day is almost over here where i am i still haven't gotta my reply from Terry Dunlap from Reaver Systems about getting my hands on a Reaver Pro to review. Until someone reviews it and tells people what their getting $200 is just in my view not worth it. WPS has pretty much been address already and is only vulnerable to people that have not addressed the matter in their router same gos for WEP tons of people still use WEP but lets face it all the Reaver Pro does is crack WPS and nothing more? Question is spend $200 on a device that limits me to doing one thing or buy a pineapple for $99 and get and extra $20 and buy me and Ubertooth and have double the fun for a little over $200.
  11. One bad thing about updating you're firmware or updating any firmware for that matter on anything is if you're not running off a battery pack and you lose power for just a second in the middle of updating the firmware install you dun bricked you're router and then you gotta start spending money to get a new one if its not covered under a warranty still. I've heard people say WPA is vulnerable but if im not mistaken its only vulnerable against a wordlist attack to be all honest i don't waste my time with networks that have a WPA/WPA2 encryption chances of a hacker managing to get you're wireless password without having WPS or a weak password is highly unlikely you really have a better chance of going outside and getting hit by lighting on a really nice day then a hacker ever breaking into you're wifi. The real world unless the person lives next door to you then chances are the hacker laptop would run out of battery before he managed to crack you're wireless. It would basically be a thing where it would take a couple visits to finish where he left off. Myself when im out and about i go for the easy target rather then wasting my time something that might potentially take me a couple returns to get access to. Thats the real world in my view. Unless someone on here knows something i don't about Wireless Security.
  12. I'm still waiting to hear back from Terry Dunlap from Reaver Systems i swear he offered to get me a Reaver Pro to review for him but he hasn't gotten back to me yet today he said he was going to email me in the morning and that was Wednesday night i last talked to him so..
  13. Meh Where i am 1 out of every 5 routers i've tested appear to still be vulnerable to a WPS attack. I have yet to see any router have a auto update feature yet maybe the newer ones but for people who have routers that are like before 2013 i think are all still vulnerable to a WPS attack unless the owner manually updates their firmware. Lets face it at least 85% of you're home routers do the owners ever update their firmware or even know how to do it or anything about the router other then buying it so they can have there wireless to use with their laptops. One thing i do know now is it appears people in my area thanks to the ISP's like Comcast and centurylink are now giving their customers Modems that have a built in router sometimes it depends on the Tech that comes to hook their service up might disable WPS for them but i've noticed people who have like SSID names like ciscoxxxx x's being numbers are DSL modems that centurylink gives their customers half of them have WPS enabled that i have have seen around my area. Comcast is really terrible here where i am people won't like comcast service so they tend to use centurylink. I also noticed to that the Cisco DDR2200-CL modem has terrible security the Tech Support Remote Login Password is in plaintext if you view the source code of the inside of the modem. Also the admin password and other user logins for the modem are visible in plaintext however you need to be logged in to see it.
  14. I'm hoping to possibly get my hands on one of these Reaver Pro's that are selling for $200 so i can have a look at and give it a review on my YouTube to explain what makes it any better then the console reaver or the that comes on a ISO. I've been talking to the guy thats selling these reaver pro's at reaver systems hoping i possibly get picked for a review on there reaver pro. Always up for reviewing stuff so any other companies are looking for someone to review their hardware get in contact with me i can review in a upcoming for for my youtube channel.
  15. Ouch $120 for the ubertooth then another $30+ on a wireless card to get its enclosure for ?
  16. You are correct ^ However he claims that it has been completely recoded i would assume the Reaver Pro makers got the idea from the way the Pineapple works. Basically like the Pineapple has a folder on it called pineapple and then has all the goodies that make the pineapple be able to do the stuff it can do. I'm sure they have a folder much like the pineapple which basically has their script that runs a improved reaver.
  17. Ohhh so i think i finally get what i thought it did all along so what i said about it was right. Layman's terms.... If the if a Apple Mac Book Pro has every connected to a hotspot called "Free WiFi" the the computer sends out a probe looking for that SSID Name and says Hello, Free WiFi are you out there? WiFi Pineapple replies Yup I'm the Free WiFi you connected to last time go ahead and connect me to me again. So im curious to know as to what the SSID list setting is for. I noticed that my my Motorola Droid A855 doesn't appear to auto connect to the WiFi Pineapple. Does it only only work if say the person has used a Public WiFi that doesn't use a password? Cause I swear i've never had any luck with getting my phone to auto connect to the WiFi Pineapple if i've only used my phone to connect to networks that required a password. Say for example i've only connected to my router at home and my router at home uses a WPA password to connect to my SSID name called linksys well i don't think the will will connect to the pineapple if my phone is looking for that router name because the phone stores a password for that router name.
  18. So, Kinda curious if anyone has any recommendations on where and what enclosure to get for an Ubertooth One The fact that its exposed to the elements just scares me to wanna spend $119 on it and then have it get damaged due to someones spit or misty or anything wet touching the board. Also i don't really wanna mess around with like shrink wrap kinda looking for a box it can go in like most wireless dongles are in. not worried too much if i can't see the lights on it.
  19. I talked to one of the guys whos promoting that Reaver Pro 2 he told me that they have completely improved reaver pro unlike the one they were selling before. I'm still hoping they release the source or firmware they used for the AP-121U cause i can pick up AP-121U all day on Amazon for under $60 and sell them at the local flea market coming this winter.
  20. Flashing is pretty easy i found it more annoying to flash a TP-LINK MR3040 i've had no luck getting WiFi Pineapple to work on that router but heard someone managed to but me none i ended up flashing that TP-LINK MR 3040 atleast 154 times hak5 sells a USB TTL Serial stick that you can use to flash the firmware on the pineapple its a matter of hooking the cables to the right pins and from there following the guide to transfer the firmware.
  21. wait what? i don't think i get what you're saying. Are there no SSID's in a list by default? Also im curious as to what the black and white is is for im guessing black list is to reject any SSID's in the list and the white list im guessing is to only allow SSID's in the list to connect. Still kinda curious to know where the SSID names are saved on the Mark VI.
  22. Wait so let me get this straight you have to manually add each SSID you want people to auto connect to? I was under the assumption that didn't need a list of access point names. Where is the log file located for the SSID list for karma so i can just paste in a list of popular SSID names from like http://wigle.net Be nice if someone could start making a list of common SSID names that we can load and then append to it from the Karma Config.
  23. UPDATE: it appears after i factory reset the pineapple and turned off the Wireless under status and then went back to configuratio i was able to get the SSID Name changed and it started working after i enabled the Wireless i swear the new 2.8.1 is buggy. Before i did a factory reset under advanced all my stuff was disabled under status and i couldn't get anything to enable under status but after a factory reset it appears to be working fine now. This thread can be closed i just made the topic to see if anyone could help me before i figured it out myself.
  24. Hmmm it appears when i go to the configuration and for the Karma SSID i changed it to like MetroPCS right? and then check using the WICD network manager its still showing the ssid name as pineapple not sure whats up with that. And yeah i have tried refreshing a few times but no luck even tried rebooting the pineapple in the configuration the SSID shows up as MetroPCS but only the SSID of pineapple shows up for the network still. Running the latest firmware for the Pineapple to.
  25. Been a really long day it appears i had the Enternet Plugged into the wrong port. Ran the Ethernet cable from the laptop to PoE Lan appears too be working fine now. It's been atleast 4 months since i used this WiFi Pineapple how the Ethernet ended up plugged in to the WAN / LAN is beyond me. Everything is fine just i had the ethernet plugged into the wrong ethernet port.
