  1. Aye I think I'm gonna get my order a few bits at a time, starting with teh arduino 2009 USB, next will probably be the oscope kit and then the STN graphic display.
  2. I lost. Despite spending about 90 minutes refreshing, clicking, and trying from 3 diff point of presences. Most successful was my plain old office network - where I made it all the way through the order process and entered my CC info TWICE. and submitted my order twice. Timed out on that page. SO no freebies for me.
  3. Was able to log in way late last night and verify my cart. I'm about $50 over. :x - portable oscope, arudino USB (2009?), graphic LCD panel, arduino ethernet panel. Trouble logging in here at work, but I got aboot 3 hours to get logged in I suppose.
  4. This brings the price from around $200/month (what I normally pay for a dedicated host, Fairly sure its a dual core on a 10mbit line) down to about $15/month. At least in my eyes.
  5. Yah, portable light oscope is the win. I don't know how many times I bring either that huge case along with the DSO inside, or borrow my coworkers scopemeter, when all I want to know is if there is an actual signal present. I don't even care if its right, just need to know whether or not the device is not sending, or I'm not receiving. Although I swear this was much cheaper in kit form, but at this price, I can't lose.
  6. My sister and I would just look up at the top from underneath (sort of alongside the bottle). That was enough to tell whether or not a free one was in there.
  7. Scratch that - I'm getting this: http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_i...roducts_id=9484
  8. Install refit for SL. It's a bootloader like grub. You can then boot from different parts, HD's, etc.
  9. You really ought to recall your login info from cisco. If you have access to IOS images and whatnot that is killer. I struggled for a month trying to find a more current IOS and had to blindly trust some rapidshare post. But I had no choice. Bug identified in the version we were running, Router OOW, boss unwilling to pay the ridiculous service contract, I know noone with IOS image access, and even more unwilling to pay a certed person, or to pay to get me certed. QOS is hard, but not impossible to understand. It'll help you in that instance with the cameras. I can help you.
  10. SDM works look at that! I'd LOVE to have a 2811 to just put in my house. At work we only have an 1811 and thats WAY overkill for us. Good job and gratz2u!
  11. While most of us seem to be trying to figure out how to get the network interfaces up and running and how to press different keys than what to actually do with this thing - this person has managed to get a webserver running just fine on the first-gen Zipit. She's done it since 2005!!!! We are so far behind the curve it isn't funny! http://va3uxb.dynip.com/ http://planetstephanie.net/hi-tech-fun/zipit-webserver/ Let me qualify the above statements by saying I'm VERY far behind as I don't even own one...... Still waiting for the openPandora myself.
  12. I've had that happen both ways believe it or not. At my mother in laws, she MUST have a particular MAC or have them update it. At my place, any MAC works. Different cable networks (physical lines) as its in neighboring municipalities, but both Comcast.
  13. lulz - I actually started working on the config help here when this thread was at just the OP and the next guy :) Good help from the guys above. If you want specifics, your gonna have to get more specific. You need to use IOS to tell the cisco how to work. It doesn't "just work". Specifically: ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 FastEthernet0/0 x.x.x.x (the IP on the WAN side) ip route x.x.x.x 255.255.255.x FastEthernet0/1 x.x.x.x (first set = LAN subnet, second x = subnet mask of LAN subnet, 3rd set is IP address of interface on FastEthernet0/1) This tells the 2811 where everything is, and is the foundation to your router. In most cases you will want to specify everything, including what ports are available (meaning source and destination ports, IP addresses, etc), but it seems like you want to use the 2811 like a consumer router - i.e. everything on the LAN subnet is allowed out, and already connected stuff is allowed back in. You'll need the following: ip nat pool (name_of_pool) x.x.x.x y.y.y.y prefix-length z (name is anything, x is WAN IP range start, y is WAN IP range end - can be equal (/31), z is the / length of your address range in total. Most often 31 ip nat inside source list (ACL#) pool (name_of_pool) overload (ACL# is the access list defining local addresses allowed to use this resource), (name_of_pool is the same name as above) overload indicates the type of translation (PAT here) access-list (ACL#) permit ip host x.x.x.x any (ACL# is the same as above, you make it up - x.x.x.x is the allowed host - use IOS ACL nomenclature to define the ACL) Once done, you can do whatever you want from inside and have it work on the outside. This is quite helpful: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk648/tk36...0800e523b.shtml Post up the output from sh running-config if you would (censored of course)
  14. Thats dangerous thinking there, especially as teh most convenient and readily available nicotine deliver devices come 20 to a pack at your convenient store for about $5. Usually available 24 hours a day. I gotta hand it to you though - its not smoking a cigarette. But I don't think that its any better or more healthy. We can get into quote wars but just because you found a way to deliver nicotine without some of its byproducts doesn't mean it isn't bad to be addicted to nicotine. Look at the folks who dip, and also the folks hooked on nicorette - who also did in fact pick up mouth cancer. No saying if it was the smoking or the pseudodip that did it. http://www.askapatient.com/viewrating.asp?...;name=NICORETTE http://whyquit.com/pr/102809.html http://www.usnews.com/health/family-health...-fda-warns.html http://www.ecigarettenews.info/nicotine-re...-causes-cancer/ (which leads to:) http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_...icle6143744.ece One of these days you'll start to hate it. For me - that day was when I realized smoking cost more than my car. A few months later and here I am - quit completely. I'll leave it there. Back to resolutions.
  15. See thats the problem. Everyone thinks there is some device to make it easier, better, faster. In reality, the only thing you can do to quit smoking is to stop bringing nicotine into your body. Stop smoking, dipping, chewing, using nicorette, e-cigarettes, whatever. Just don't do it. I smoked for 16 years. 30 days ago I just stopped. You go through 3 days of being somewhat uncomfortable, then you realize that life isn't going to end its just you living without smoking. The frackin' drug that you've been addicted to tells your body that it can't live without it. And your body believes it! Seriously. Every half hour to 2 hours or so. You re-up on nicotine and reset the clock. Once you start getting low on nicotine your body starts the process of replenishing, forcing you to go suck on the wet end of a burning plant that costs nigh on $5 for a days worth. Thats the other problem. It's not a useful tool to give up smoking. It IS a useful tool to become hooked on that thing, just like folks get hooked on nicorette, the patch, lozenge, etc. They are called crutch devices. Seriously the best way to quit is to just quit, and avoid being dragged through withdrawals over and over again. Just get it all over with in one fell swoop like a band-aid - RIGHT OFF@!@! As for my resolutions, I'm no sheep. But my gf and I intend to stop being fatasses this year.
  16. Possible to use MHDD to remap the bad sectors too.
  17. I trust you are no longer with the psycho hose beast who destroyed your phone? Oh and I got my GF the Wacom Bamboo (fun) The Intuos4 looks freaking hot too. She's the artist who might actually use it.
  18. I can do "rubik's magic puzzle" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rubik%27s_Magic in less than 10 seconds from initial state to complete. If its all screwed up though, all bets are off. As far as the cube, I'm getting better, I can actually manipulate the squares and move some around like I want, vs when I was a kid, just randomly turning it.
  19. dell S2410 monitor, hot sauce wallyworld gift set, popcorn wallyworld gift set (well this is actually my gf's, but since I'm the popcorn nut....), military boat model, chef knife set (really awesome, not a cheap wallyworld block with steak knives, but an actual nice balanced set with a sharpening stone.) fajita set (that is a pair of heavy gauge pans for teh sizzle) and a tortilla holder. I suppose the 24" 1080p monitor qualifies, but not much geeky this year, despite having only actually asked for a zipit z2, and to get on the preorder list for the open pandora. But my gf knows I really really like my cooking. Already used it to nearly reproduce Sakkio chicken teriyaki....
  20. Isn't this the original intended purpose of the Zipit Z2? Like unhacked? Monthly fee and all but no need for a cell phone.
  21. I'm totally trying for an Arduino mega and duemilanove
  22. I'm fairly shocked nobody has started with "Katana"! http://www.hackfromacave.com/katana.html UBCD, Slax, Ophcrack, DSL, DVL, tons of useful utils on the UBCD 4 windows, and a ton of portable stuff - wireshark, OpenOffice, unstoppable copier, etc All this in an ISO and you just mount it up, copy the files, run a .sh Downside is you need at least an 8GB.
  23. Sooooo We need to find the hopitals near the hakhouse then. And faxblast get well everywhere/get on the news, order up a stripper/other mischief
  24. Sounds like stones, kidney or otherwise to me based on the description of the stoned video. I'm no doctorb tho. So was he in toronto or still near the hakhouse?
