So I recently made a FreeNas box ( you can go to the "Questions" forum here, and find more about my issues.) But one of the big ones is Backup speed @ 1.5 mbps I cannot afford to do a backup everyday. I have looked into rsync, and look great, except that it look complicated and require editting things server side. Now watch this video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-2hRRY6Oww... this is is the kind of program I want, where you just specify the source and output and there you go! So what do you suggest? DeltaCopy? Use the command line? Could you code this for me?

Someone just told me that your internet does not affect local network transfers. ?

Dear Everyone, I has been planning and thinking over the last couple of days and have come to these conclusions. 1. I want to be apart of an active community online, where everyone collaborates and works together. 2. Wikipedia is a great option for me, but everyone is full of criticisms when ever I help edit a page, and they immediately change it back. 3. I am interested in Technology and the internet in general, and there is no wiki that. 4. The Hak5 Wiki is also a great option but doesn't seam active or updated, and the wiki software is not user friendly. Also the wiki is very focused on things in the episodes, and nothing else. -------THE WIKI PROJECT-------- **Note: This is in beta, please feel free to contact me @ quickcache@hotmail.com with questions or comments** 1. Create a better wiki setup, or create a new one. 2. fix or rebuild info from the old wiki, with the help from, experts, spell checkers, and simplifers. 3. Recruit new members, and add new relevant info, about anything seen in the shows or related to tech/hacking at all. 4. Copying and simplifying Wikipedia pages Yes: Adds contact and give this wiki a more personal/helpful feel. NO: illegal or pointless 2. Tutorials on how to do "Illegal/hacking things" For example the Pandora time shifter is illegal because it's free music , but if we put warnings of "educational" only. Ok thanks you guys for all the comments! And now I present Quickcache.org UPDATED!! Yes, I made many changes to the site, so please reveiw/comment again/more! One thing I am having issues with is the HTML, i have been messing around making things look nicer, but i have to issues. 1. In order for my logo to work, i need to tell Tumlbr that I have no title. Otherwise the header/logo would look repetitive. So to make your browser have a title for my site I added the title tag to the beginning of my HTML. The problem now is the "Archive" Has no title either just ": Archive" I want "QuickCache Archive" for the title. How would I do that? I can include atachment if you want.... 2. I want comments, and I like Disqus, however when I add the code, where it says to, it loses the font, size and color, and looks very plain and out of place with the rest of my site. Why is this? I have been testing with a 1 GB movie. Where can i print off my current settings? Do i need to type them out? Could i put a "gigabyte" thing in my box, to make it go faster?

100 mbps, thats what's in the box, and its a buffulo router? Is that what your asking? btw what is the average NAS speed?

EDIT: Does NFS have something to do with this?

I recently setup FreeNas on a old Pentium 4, 1 GB ram, and 2 80 GB western digital hard drives. with a hard connection and a built in NIC. I had heard that on a local network you could get similar write speeds to a fire wire 800, (or at least way faster then a external drive with usb 2.0. But no that everything is set up and running, samba (windows) is only getting about 1.5 to 2 mb per second down and up. This is not good, I have messed around with all the different settings, but no significant change. I have a 1 mb per second internet speed, so i will not be using ftp, and the local network should be affected by my crap internet anyway. What should i do to get my samba going 10 plus? or will it also be like that? Also in the web interface it says I have only 66 GB of usable space and 72 GB total, yet all my config files and the OS are in the flash drive (which is 4GB). Why is this? Thanks alot!!!!

will simply renaming it something other then norton safety minder (or what ever its called) really stop it from running?

I have an Admin account and have the right to download and install, i cannot however be on for more then two hours a day, which sucks because after homework is done there is only an hour left.

I have done that, but I am a gamer, so my games are all windows based.

PLEASE LEAVE YOUR "RESPECT YOUR PARENTS" LINE AT THE DOOR, thank you. I have tried ending processes, booting in safe mode other tricks. They do not work, how stop the program without my parents being alerted. If i uninstall, my parents will find out. Is there anyway I can stop this program from running at login or start up? I am running, Home version of Windows 7, 32 bit. Thank you.

um, sorry but im a noob. I can see the Pandora player thing working and playing. But how do you download the song and if it auto downloads where can i find it on my computer. Also does it name the file as the name of the song, can you give me an example? Is there a choice of formats? acc? mp3? I am running the newest post as of this post download link. I'm am running Firefox and vista. Hope you can help!
