hi all, may be it was mentioned here before i'm not sure, BUT
i noticed very unstable signal strength with fon2100+jasager1.0
wavemon 'link quality' bar was fluctuating 15 - 115
the reason was that the madwifi driver is constantly switching antennas and since fon2100 has got only one, 50% of the time it is 'off'.
the solution are these commands:
sysctl -w dev.wifi0.rxantenna=1
sysctl -w dev.wifi0.txantenna=1
sysctl -w dev.ath.diversity=0
now link quality is much better.
perhaps there are more parameters to tweak, any clues?
would be great to extend the range of these little bastards.
