  1. There is alot to an FTP server depending on what you want to do with it and how "secure" you would like to make it. Is there something in general you wanted to know? Like how to set one up, etc etc?
  2. So here's the deal, I have my main computer Running Windows 7 RC1 and VMWare Player I have created two nearly identical virtual machines and they are both running Kubuntu with the same packages installed. The only Difference in the two is one is using a pre-allocated vmdk and the other is not. Here's the issue, be it samba, FTP, SFTP, whatever! When I upload files to the machine I get around 40kb/s but when I turn around and download them back I get upwards of 8MB/s. It makes no sense, also the only other factor I think might matter is that I have the virtual NIC set up in Bridged Mode so I can ssh in to whichever of these is running. Any Ideas?
  3. best solution would be (as stated before) to set your router mac address to mimic the mac address of your wireless card. outside of that I would suggest seeing if someone back home can let you remote desktop into a pc long enough to set up a DNS tunneling server.. But that's a bit much just to go wireless... Best of Luck
  4. Awesome, Thanks I'll give it a whirl!
  5. Hey guys, I have my laptop dual booting windows 7 RC1 and Mac OS X... or at least it was dual booting when I had XP on there. I did the update to 7 and BAM! now I can't access it. I have found a way to get it to boot but I need the efi file from the mac partition. I immediately thought "Sounds like a Job for Trinity Rescue Kit!" To my dismay however it does not support hfs or hpfs or whatever the mac filesystem is called (I Can't remember off the top of my head). anyone have any ideas how I can get read access to that mac partition? whether its through a live boot CD (other than the Mac OS X disc because I can't find mine) or a Windows App that can read it. Thanks in advance!
