In general, is the password for the web interface of a home router sent from the client to the device in plaintext?

Hi there, I'm looking to purchase an Alfa USB wireless adapter and am currently looking at two setups. The first is a 1000 mW model with a 9DBi antenna. The second is a 2000 mW model with a 5DBi antenna. Which would give me maximum range? Thanks.

I tried copying all of the .ipk files over using scp, however on the last file, the program crashed and I had to reset the Fon to regain access to it via SSH. I checked the /tmp folder and found nothing (as far as ipk's) in it. Is it possible that this is due to the Fon running out of memory or is it something else?

Hey there, I was wondering if anyone can give me some advice on a good PCMCIA card for use with Backtrack 3 and other security distros (preferably something with an external antenna connection)? Thanks!
