  4. I have... The guy's problem is that he doesn't listen, and i'm sick of telling him over and over again.
  5. I thought we call this setup as a network? Sorry about that. Now my main concern is how to get the QoS form enabled. Any suggestions as to why it could be disabled. Here is a screenie:
  6. Okay well, how do you do that? DHCP reservation? Edit: I use windows vista and so does he, we do not have any kind of home network set up. :(
  7. Hello I have a wifi LAN setup at my home, which is shared by me and my mate. Now i have an "i Open" i Connect 622 wired modem/router hooked up to my d-link dir300 wireless router, which is connected to my desktop PC via Ethernet cable. Now the problem is that my flatmate uses up all the bandwidth by watching you tube videos all the time. I tried filtering out his mac address in the d-link's admin controls, so he cannot connect to the internet at all, but he connected his laptop directly to the Ethernet cable which was connected to my pc to use internet while i was at work. So that leaves me with playing around my iOpen modem. There are a lot of options in the advanced panel however i am a novice in these things, and do not know how to use the features. I would like to be able to restrict his download speed to 256kbps instead of 18Mbps, and i have read that this can be achieved via Qos, but the qos option in my dir-300's admin panel is disabled(it's Grey with no click able form). I would appreciate any help.
  8. Hi I wanted to try and write a nifty little php script, using the twitter api, to display the user timeline(or atleast the last feed from the user timeline) on the home screen whenever it is locked. It is pretty similar to the server lock example that comes built in with winterboard. Basically the server lock example fetches a php page, and rest everything else is done by the php script. Now i have seen a couple of similar project on the internet, but nothing small and fast. I am just not sure where to begin really(i'm not black belt in php), i have seen other people's code, but i wanna built the whole script from scratch. Help appreciated.
  9. Hi I was wondering if it is possible to password protect or encrypt a pen spy camera with usb interface. Now the pen is basically a flash drive with a video camera, and an inbuilt battery. Can it be password protected so if someone gets their hands on it, they cannot use it? I tried truecrypt, but it only allowed me to create a pipeline, and other options didn't really work. The problem with pipeline is that the camera stores its video files on the flash memory as it is recording, and the pipeline just takes up the space as it just shows up as another file. I have heard of some small programs which can be placed on the flash drive and everytime the flash drive is plugged in, the program executes itself and asks for a password. And without it, the flash drive doesnt open. Any recomendations or advice appreciated. jesse
