  1. Make a CD player fishtank like I did. It has a computer power supply that powers a car CD player with some speakers from my old van that wouldn't fit in my new car. There are LED lights above the tank shining down and a cold cathode shining up from underneath. The switches on bottom turn on and off the different lights. The gauges show the voltages and temperature. The omputer power supply did pretty well, but the CD player cut off if you cranked up the volume too much. It was an old crappy one, so I would suggest a newer, higher powered. It should show you how many amps it will put out at 12V, and the CD player will give you an approximate value as to how many it needs. Other projects I've thought about include the coffee table/subwoofer (just don't set your laptop on it).
  2. Here's mine if you want to check it out: I'm working on a cooling system now. I'm going to use a peltier chip on top of a cooling rod with one end in the oil and the heatsink in the open air. This way there's no pumping oil outside the case and risk making a mess. I'll post another video when I get done.
  3. Yeah, she does amazing work. I could never get up to that level or even close. I have a design friend that was curious, maybe he can help me out. Thanks for the advice.
  4. Hey Hak5 and fans. I am starting a podcast at work and was wondering how you made the various intro animations for your show. They look really good, and I want to make this a quality podcast. I have some killer techno music that I made up for it, but I just need help with the animation. The podcast is directed at students at a university. Thanks!
  5. Cheap, easy, crappy way of doing this: Get on a mac, open terminal. You can customize the terminal window to have a black background with green text. Then use a screen capture program to capture yourself typing into that window. You can use some unix command (slips my mind at the moment) to change the prompt. You can even perform an SSH login to another mac where you customize the welcome message etc. Sorry, that's a pretty crappy way of doing it, but I guess it works better than some....
