  1. When I saw Inflitrator's last post I thought this exact thing. And I think this is what I will do. Thanks for the info guys!
  2. So is it a bad idea to leave it on all the time, if say I was using ubuntu daily but didnt want to change it every time I arp spoof/MITM?
  3. Catching up on my technolust I was watching episode 908 and saw that in linux you need to change your ipv4 setting so that the traffic will flow through your computer. Is there a problem leaving this set to "1" during normal operation? Or do I have to change it every time that I want to arp spoof? Thanks
  4. Been watching the show for a while, many virutalization solutions have been shown so far. I'm just wondering what you guys think is the "best" (subjective I know) solution for some home virtualization. I was leaning towards proxmox, but it looks a bit...beta-y...if that explains anything :P. I doubt that i'll need to move vm's around, so that feature is kinda useless for me. I don't mind working in Windows or Linux. I have used VMware server before, and it was alright. Haven't tried VirtualBox yet. So again, just wondering what you guys thought the pros and cons of these three solutions might be for a home user (simple pentesting on my own network machines, playing around with new OS's, maybe a webserver, etc.). Thanks
  5. Im looking into getting either a netbook or a laptop that has a culv processor to use for school and/or penetration testing. I was just wondering if anyone had an experience with either of these processors especially concerning how many words per second you get when attempting to crack a WPA network with a dictionary. Also, and I know this is completely different, how well either of these handles HD content (specicially the su2700 processor). Any feedback is greatly appreciated -Thanks
  6. Just watch any movie where they use the command "Upload Virus" (aka Live Free or Die Hard)!
  7. It's not just the capability to run linux, it's the capability to inject packets or even switch to monitor mode.
  8. Recieved, thank you sir!
  9. I would love an invite as well: jdmarks91@gmail.com
  10. The last episode got me thinking about adding a Handheld pen testing device to my aresenal. I did a lot of research on that Zipit and found that the likelihood of getting injection working on it is pretty slim. So my question is, do any of you know of a good handheld device that can support injection and monitor mode? Thanks
  11. Along with their promised 10 second boot time!
  12. It will output to a 1080i tv and upconvert dvds and some media files (not really sure how well it does this). And that is what I have been doing for a while. However, the Xbox does not have the processor power to decode HD video...whether it is streamed, or played from the HD. http://xbmc.org/wiki/index.php?title=Suppo...and_resolutions The chart in this link will better illustrate what I mean.
  13. Anyone have any recent experience with getting FreeNAS to stream/transcode to both an Xbox 360 and PS3? -Thanks
  14. Thanks for all the great comments! I will most likely end up using FreeNAS, although last time I used it, I remember that I had trouble getting it to play nicely with my PS3 and Xbox. @sablefoxx: I totally agree with your XBMC suggestion; however, the computer that I am talking about in this thread needs only to be a server since I have a PS3 or Xbox in any room that I need media at the moment. I totally wish that the Xbox Original could play HD so I could continue to use that and XBMC...literally played (almost) everything I had!!
  15. So i've been googling my a** of for a while now trying to come up with a good home NAS/media server distro or any type of options that I am left with. I really don't want to spend money on any of the commercial ones from Newegg, etc. since I have a few decently specced spare computers just lying around. What i'm looking to have is a Nas with about 2tb of storage in a Raid 1 array. I need it to not only stream, but transcode videos from the Nas to my PS3 and Xbox 360. So far i've tried using Windows 7 plus PS3 Media Server, but I have surprisingly enough had a lot of trouble with Windows 7 networking and compatibility with my game systems. To come to the actual question, I was wondering what might be the best solution for this? Maybe ubuntu server + samba + ps3 media server? Or maybe FreeNas (haven't used the newest versions)? Or even Openfiler with some streaming addon? Any ideas or suggestions would be very greatly appreciated. -Thanks P.S. Torrent downloading would be a great plus but is not required.
